UP FOR SALE IS THIS BEAUTIFUL SILVER/BLUE/WHITE 1977 YAMAHA RD 400D TWO STROKE STREET BIKE. HIS RD400D STARTS 1-2 KICKS EVERYTIME AND IDLES PERFECTLY. ONE OF THE BEST LOOKING CAFE STYLE STREET BIKES OUT THERE IN MY OPINION. THE TANK IS ONE OF THE CLEANEST TANKS IVE SEEN FREE OF RUST. ALL LIGHTS WORK. This RD is well sorted out with minimal patina. This is a strong runner and starts very easy (1 or 2 kicks). All chrome is in great shape and all alloy surfaces are polished. I have owned and restored this RD for the past 10 years. I have a total of over $7,000 invested. Many of the components were purchased from HVC and Economy Cycle. Some of the restoration work was performed by Economy Cycle. I have multiple service and parts manuals for the RD.Restoration specifics are as follows:Newer Conti-Go tires, Progressive fork springs, recent fork seals, DG expansion chambers, K&N filter with Y-boot intake, FAST rear sets, MZB electronic ignition/alternator, recent leak down tests to verify good condition of crank seals, rebuilt front/rear master cyclinders, Shori battery, gas tank very clean, 520 chain with front/rear sprockets, bronze swing arm bushings, stainless engine bolt kit, calipers rebuilt with new seals front/rear, new steering head bearings, carbs rebuilt, oil injection pump rebuilt by Economy Cycle, complete set of main jets. HVC Streetfighter seat cover and pad installed on original pan. Stainless braided brake lines.Original Chappy Red paint with original decals. I have spotted in portions of tank to correct small scratches/blems (spotted in areas undetectable). Bike has 12,200 original miles. All switch gear works perfectly (turn signals, lights, etc.). Instrument gauges and lighting work perfectly. All original components are available with bike (e.g. exhaust pipes, handle bar, center stand).

1976 Yamaha RD400 vintage cafe racer with 10,970 miles on the odometer. Clean CA title and registration is up to date. It has a Ducati 900ss style half-fairing and custom gunmetal grey/black paint job with gold wheels and accents (there are a few little cracks in the paint on one side on the tail section where it bolts to the frame). It is a kick-start 2-stroke with oil pump still operational so no need to run premix. Mikuni carbs have been cleaned and rejetted. Has Banshee cross-over tube and the popular Y-boot to a foam air filter. The tach has been mounted in the center just in front of the triple trees with the speedometer tucked down low on the left side near the headlight right behind the fairing. The tank has been coated to prevent rust. It has clip-ons, rear sets, aftermarket chambers with new packing, Shorai lithium battery, and a Joker Machine oil dipstick and magnetic drain plug. The tires are in decent shape, but I would recommend replacing them due to age. Runs and rides great! No test rides without cash in hand. Bike is currently in Garden Grove, CA until Monday. This was a stripped to the frame custom rebuild. The frame and wheels were powder coated and the tank and side covers a 175 dollar paint job. Every bearing including the steering head are now new caged roller bearings. The chain and sprockets are new 520 units. The forks are a 850 dollar rebuild by HVC cycle. New tubes, springs and ceramic coated lowers. New performance rear shocks. New DG expansion chambers. Rebuilt carbs with new fiber reeds and a K&N intake system. It is jetted a little on the rich side for better cooling. Bored .030 over with new Weisco pistons, rings, and wrist pins. The piston crowns were ceramic coated to reduce heat in the pistons. Both fenders, taillight bracket, grab bar re chromed. Engine cases powder coated. All cables and most rubber parts are new. The seat was rebuilt by Sargent's. All lighting is new and everything works including the instrument lights. Speedometer and Tach both work. It has a custom boxed aluminum swing arm as found on a racing bike. The clutch pack is new EBC with new springs. It is a little stiffer than stock. I have receipts to give buyer that total $6559. I paid 1200 for the bike. I have lost the receipt for the swing arm and the powder coating The swing arm was 600 dollars and the powder coating was at least 400 dollars. The brake lines are stainless, the master cyl on the front is new, rebuilt with a kit on the rear and new EBC pads. Do not bother to get in touch if you think that you will get me off of that price very much. I am a licensed FAA aircraft mechanic so this wasn't a shade tree job. In the early 70's I pitted for a guy racing AMA flat track and we ran a two stroke and 4 stroke bikes. This the bike that always wanted to build for me and retirement made it happen. I have put way less than 500 miles on it because I am now 72 and getting on and off is really unstable for me and I don't want to drop it on me or the ground. I have had a bike from 1965 to now and selling this one was never the plan. You can take a test ride if I have 7500 dollars in my hand and consider it sold if you damage it in any way. Classic 1978 RD 400In the process of restoring. I need to sell because I am leaving to college and won't have space for it.The bike runs great. Recently road it on from Longbeach to San Bernadino and back. The bike gave me no trouble and cruised at 70 mph. Powder coated frame. Upgraded suspension. Many new parts.

1976 Yamaha Rd400 , Beautiful Rare Vintage Yamaha RD400. This bike is in great shape. Rebuilt engine and carbs, new tires, electronic ignition. New paint and decals, new seat cover. Bike has about 100 miles on it since restoration. Always stored in a heated garage as part of a collection. Clean title. Starts and runs like a dream. Not many like this left! One small dent on the back of the front fender, other than that, this bike is a good 9 out of 10. Bike is located in Halifax, NS. Seller is willing to deliver as far as the Houlton, ME border. We are heading that way in the next couple of weeks... $4,300.00
