This RD is well sorted out with minimal patina. This is a strong runner and starts very easy (1 or 2 kicks). All chrome is in great shape and all alloy surfaces are polished. I have owned and restored this RD for the past 10 years. I have a total of over $7,000 invested. Many of the components were purchased from HVC and Economy Cycle. Some of the restoration work was performed by Economy Cycle. I have multiple service and parts manuals for the RD.Restoration specifics are as follows:Newer Conti-Go tires, Progressive fork springs, recent fork seals, DG expansion chambers, K&N filter with Y-boot intake, FAST rear sets, MZB electronic ignition/alternator, recent leak down tests to verify good condition of crank seals, rebuilt front/rear master cyclinders, Shori battery, gas tank very clean, 520 chain with front/rear sprockets, bronze swing arm bushings, stainless engine bolt kit, calipers rebuilt with new seals front/rear, new steering head bearings, carbs rebuilt, oil injection pump rebuilt by Economy Cycle, complete set of main jets. HVC Streetfighter seat cover and pad installed on original pan. Stainless braided brake lines.Original Chappy Red paint with original decals. I have spotted in portions of tank to correct small scratches/blems (spotted in areas undetectable). Bike has 12,200 original miles. All switch gear works perfectly (turn signals, lights, etc.). Instrument gauges and lighting work perfectly. All original components are available with bike (e.g. exhaust pipes, handle bar, center stand).

1974 Yamaha RD250

Amazingly clean and mechanically tight un-restored, original RD-250. "Survivor" is an understatement. The paint on the tank, side covers, frame are really unique (show room quality comes to mind, no fading whatsoever, graphics are perfect). And the chrome is truly special. Of course the frame and engine VINs match. I've looked at a lot of RD250's, RD350's and RD400's (and DS7's) from 1971-1976 and I have not found one as clean as this one. This bike starts right up and sounds great. The oil injection works flawlessly and does not smoke at all (only using Yamalube of course). The clutch and six speed transmission both work like you drove it off the showroom floor in 1974. All electronics work to perfection (horn, signals, displays, lights). The only items that are not original on this bike are the battery, tires, and handlebars. Hagarty's and NADA value these bikes in the 4-5K range if they are "excellent" in condition for what that's worth (probably not much since bikes this old have to be evaluated individually). For an un-restored motorcycle, I would have to rate this one as excellent. Odometer is currently at 3,900 miles. If you're very interested in an unmolested (i.e., not "cafe'd" by the younger crowd) RD-250, this is worth a look. No trades. And please don't email me an offer of $2,000 (I still enjoy riding it). After dialog with an interested and informed potential buyer, I'll gladly provide actual photos that have not been compressed by the Craigslist server, especially if you're coming from a distance. The engine was rebuilt, Fresh paint on the body parts, new hardware, new wiring and gauges etc. It has been grafted with 2008 Ninja 250 front and rear suspension and brakes. Makes for a classic looking two stroke with modern suspension and brakes. Rides excellent and stops like a motorcyle should! Bike had 8,000 miles before the rebuild. I've put ~50 miles on it.

Here it is. Wife says it can't stay in the Living Room anymore. You have been treated recently to some very nice examples of the Venerable Beast, the Giant Killer, The Widow Maker, however this is your chance to add a very rare example of the 1975 Yamaha RD350 too your collection. Bought from the owner of Reading Standard Motorsports in PA. who obtained in from the estate of the original owner. The bike was stored in a warm basement covered for 40 years. Everything functions as new. Currently in my Living Room nice and dry as it has been its whole life. No rust or pitting. Chrome and Paint almost perfect. Still has the one time original plate and inspection registered in PA. in 1975. Original Title in Hand. Original dealer decals on front fender, gas cap and taillight bracket. Original tool kit, spark plugs w/boxes and plastic pouch for registration under seat. Original tires that still look new as well . Impossible to replicate for this price. I have only put 10 miles on it and it runs as new. Front tire of course has a slight flat spot from touching the floor for 41 years which resulted in a bumpy ride. No matter as I can't imagine anyone riding this going forward anyway, your choice. 17th Annual Riding into History Award of Merit May 2016 World Golf Village, Florida. Right side pipe has 1-1.5" square scrape mark and tank has 2 or 3 barely perceptible dimples and 1 or 2 small scratches (see pics). As the story goes, and typical of so many early adopters of RD's, the original owner dropped it and scared the crap out of himself. The wife said he put it away after that and never rode it again.
