2007 Yamaha Road Star , This road star is a bike that I bought new seven years ago I paid 12500 plus tax and license. I've never had to do anything to it except oil change. a couple of weeks ago the class started slipping the shop wanted $500 to put a new clutch in instead I bought a clutch kit by Yamaha and put it in myself for 200 after I put the clutch in it started shuttering much like a 10 speed bicycle if you're pedaling and changing gears at the same time I took it to the shop and they charged me a lot of money to check it over they said they had no idea what was causing the shuddering they wanted 200 more dollars to take the side covers off and they said there wasn't even sure they could tell me what was wrong. They said once an amateur had taken off the covers they didn't like to mess with it. Now one of two things that happen either I put the clutch in wrong. Or somehow I damaged the transmission in putting the clutch in. I've never worked on any engine so I don't have a clue. It does it when you're putting on power to it But it'll run down the freeway at 80 miles an hour okay.
