OTHER BIKES, PLEASE MOVE TO THE REAR The revolutionary YZ450F will have many gazing far into the future. By slanting the cylinder rearward and reversing the intake and exhaust ports, the YZ450F's mass is more centralized for amazing balance, unprecedented handling and cornering. The Bilateral Beam frame and suspension offer fantastic feedback to the rider. Add fuel injection to the mix of these innovations and you'll agree: backward is the right way forward.
THE HIGH-SPEED PURSUIT OF PERFECTION Last season, the new 2008 YZ450F jumped right in by winning the AMA Motocross Championship, then backed it up with the 2008 Supercross title. We decided to not fix what wasn't broken, but that doesn't mean we didn't make a few changes to our flagship YZ. For 2009, the best-handling big-bore you can buy corners even sweeter, and looks even more radical.
Introducing the all-new, all-powerful, all-light YZ450F. Just how revolutionary is it? We've forged a totally new machine from the Dunlops up. The WR450F was already the mightiest beast in the jungle. For '04, it returns in an even more civilized guise: revised settings and an all-new anti-stiction coating in the inverted 46mm Kayaba fork better absorb whatever the trail dishes out. New, aluminum-piston brake calipers shave a little weight. The amazing five-titanium-valved four-stroke, good for 11,000 rpm, working through a wide-ratio five-speed gearbox is fully prepared to climb any mountain at the touch of its electric-start button, while full enduro lighting, a standard USFS-approved spark arrestor and 2.6-gallon fuel capacity continue to make the WR450F the most feared predator out there. A new gripper-style seat achieves just what the name implies while maintaining WR maneuverability, and a new kickstand better avoids unintentional entanglements thanks to 20 degrees more angle in the upright and locked position. This is the sharpest, most nimble big-bore WR ever.
Featuring a new EFI engine, an entirely new frame, minimized body work and new suspension components providing for excellent mass centralization and class leading 450 power with 250-style handling.
