2009 Yamaha Xv250d , 2009 XV250 / V-Star 250. 250cc V-Twin engine. 9594 miles. Deep red. Never dropped. Excellent around town bike and its light weight and moderate power make it an approachable trainer or casual riding bike while still having more power and style than a single cylinder 250. The good: After market sprockets and chain - gearing is about 20% taller than the (extremely short) stock gearing which makes it a much more pleasant cruise around 55 mph. Practically new Pirelli tires with probably less than 300 miles on them. Just replaced the choke cable and choke embly, cleaned the jets (they look practically new, I'm thinking they may have been replaced by the dealer before I bought the bike about 3k miles), drilled out the pain in the pilot screw and richened the mixture to give the bike a throatier rumble. Can also include a .pdf of the shop manual. The bad: accidentally drilled out one of the br carburetor channel plugs when I was drilling out the pilot screw cover - should have read the manual. Pulled the plug out and filled the hole with high temperature solder (not that it really matters as the carb doesn't get hot). Fix worked fine, bike runs great. The ugly: removed the tiny useless second seat and ground down the mounting bolt. Accidentally left a scratch in the back fender paint in the process. Also the back fender and tank have some scratches/wear from magnetic tank bags. Has a 'Denton Rocks' sticker on it but I can get that off with some goo-gone. Also, she needs a bath and is due an oil change but I can take care of those. Still have all the stock parts and probably some spare stuff I ordered and never used that I will include. All in all, a really fun bike to cruise around town on but not a highway bike due to it's small engine (and my large frame). I traded up to a 600cc streetfigher so I'm looking to reclaim the garage space while sharing the joy of motorcycling. $1,900.00
