I am selling my Willys M38 Jeep that was finished as a MB clone. This 1952 military jeep was built for the Korean war and is a true military jeep, but this one has the MB grille/bucket lights and older style windshield added. Many new parts. The Willys runs and drives well and is parade ready. No oil leaks to speak of. Maybe one or two drips at the most. I drive this jeep every other day to the store and everybody honks and waves. This is a great jeep for you to have fun with the kids and grandkids as it has all the safety upgrades, such as blinkers, tail lights, seat belts, head lights, black out lights, and horn. This jeep starts every time winter or summer. 4x4 works as it should. Not perfect, but ready to drive and have fun with. It cruises about 40 mph. The speedometer reads about 8 mph too fast so you'll think you're driving 48 mph! Clean Kansas Title. The stencils are painted on, they aren't the cheap vinyl stickers. I am also selling a matching Bantam TC-3 1946 trailer separately. It is being sold under a separate Ebay auction and is not included in this Willys M38 sale. The trailer video is below. Transmission and Transfer case had been rebuilt a few years ago. New high torque starter. New ignition switch. New high quality canvas seats front and rear with matching soft top from beechwood canvas. Single glass windshield replaced with double glass type to look like MB. MB Grille added. MB Hood added, no side notches or willys stamps. MB headlight buckets and swivels. Added fire extinguisher, shovel, axe. New solex carburetor. New Steering wheel. New rear main seal and oil pan gasket. Two new wheel brake cylinders and front brake hose. New fluids. New headlights. All new lighted dash gauges. New speedometer cable. New rear pinion oil seal. New gas tank. New fuel sender in gas tank with electric fuel pump. New 16” military Firestone tires New blinkers. New seatbelts. New light switch. New horn. New 2” receiver hitch mounted under existing pintle hook. New windshield glass. 1951 Jerry Can. 2" receiver hitch was added under the pintle hook, trailer light plug is installed. helmet and grenade box come with the jeep. Converted to 12V alternator system. Emergency brake handle is installed, but it is not functional. Clutch, brakes, shifting work well. Engine runs strong. If you arrange shipping, I can drive it to a local car dealership if needed. Buyer arranges all the shipping and pays the costs. Jeep will not be released until all money is received and cash is in the bank. I am also open to taking a $1,000 down payment and then the rest of the payment on pickup. Throw me a note before buying it out and we can figure it out. Thanks for looking! xxxx x

I have all of the paperwork from the state showing the VIN is clear. I can't continue to work on it since my two knee replacements. The jeep has been in covered storage since the work began. Please look at the list below for all the parts and work that has been done. I believe it needs someone who is able to give the engine a tune up and finish the installation of windshield etc. The windshield is new and in the box. It has custom Ammo cans mounted on the rear fenders that have marine speakers. The stereo is a marine radio XM ready and 200 watts. All body work, bed liner, and mechanical was done by professional mechanics. As with any project, there are other details to work on if a person choses - or not. I have the certification for the VIN from the Texas Dept. of Motor vehicles and it's ready to be licensed by finishing the application by the new owner. The vehicle with the longest service record in the Dutch military, serving in the Royal Army for more than 40 years from 1952 until 1996, is the M38A1 Jeep. During and shortly after World War II, the Dutch army used jeeps left behind by American forces. By the early 1950's however, the army was looking for a replacement, and in 1952 received a number of U.S.-built M38A1's under the Mutual Defence Assistance Program The army had two principal options for purchase of additional vehicles: the M38A1 and the DAF YA 054 light terrain vehicle. The DAF was designed by the Dutch company of the same name, with the requirements of the Royal Army in mind, but may have lost the race simply because its price was a couple of hundred guilders higher than the M38A1's. According to the contract with Kaiser-Willys, parts for the Dutch M38A1 Jeeps were to come from the U.S., but as an aid to the Dutch industry, the Jeeps would be assembled at the "Nederlandse Kaiser-Frazer" (NEKAF) factory in Rotterdam. The first of what became known as the "Nekaf Jeeps" was delivered on 28 May 1955. The initial order was for 4000 Jeeps, plus a rolling prototype which served the purpose of establishing the conformity of all parts. Eventually some 24 percent of the parts would be delivered by local suppliers. Batteries and tires were supplied by Dutch firms Bataafse Accufabriek (now known as Varta), and Vredestein. This increased the price of a Nekaf to 12,670 Dutch guilders, which made it a very expensive vehicle at that time. The Nekaf Jeep was basically an M38A1 with a few additions needed to comply to the Dutch traffic regulations of the time: extra reflectors screwed to the front fenders, low-intensity "city lights" added to the grille, and turn signals mounted to the left and right sides of the tub just behind the seats. The Nekaf was equipped with a canvas roof; provisions were made for mounting a hardtop but these were not used in the Dutch army. At start of production, Kaiser-Frazer delivered about 55 Nekafs per week. An additional order for another 150 Jeeps for the Royal Army was placed in 1956, as well as an order for 156 Jeeps to be delivered to the Air Force. However, deliveries apparently went down to 27 per week by 1957, and production finally ceased when the factory was faced with a large penalty for failing to make deliveries at the rate stated in the contract. The 5676th and last Kaiser-Frazer-produced Nekaf was delivered to the army in 1958. The Dordrecht firm Kemper & Van Twist Diesel took over production from 1958 to 1962, and held on to the "Nekaf" name. Kemper & Van Twist assembled about 2000 Jeeps. When the Ministry of Defence (then called Ministry of War) decided to acquire the Nekaf, its life was expected to be twenty years; ten years in active duty and the remainder in storage. During the 1960's and beyond, changed priorities meant the Ministry spent a large part of its budget buying tracked and wheeled armoured vehicles for the mechanization of the Royal Army. There was no money left to replace the Nekaf, and therefore the Jeep remained in active service much longer than originally intended. Alongside the standard issue Jeep used for general purposes, the Nekaf was used as a radio Jeep, ambulance, fire engine and snow plow. After 1959 it was used as a weapons carrier equipped with the 106mm M40 recoilless rifle (in Dutch, "Terugstootloze Vuurmond" or TLV.) With the use of American part sets, 355 Nekafs were converted to M38A1C TLV carriers. In order to be able to carry the extra weight of 217 kilograms, heavier springs were mounted. The windshield had separated window panes, a gun barrel support was mounted, and ammunition storage racks were added. From 1983 until 1989, forty M38A1Cs were equipped with cable-guided TOW missiles.

1953 Willys Army Jeep M38A1 in very good condition. Jeep came out of Arizona and was owned by same person since the 70's. I bought a year ago and gave full tune-up with new plugs, wire, points, condenser, distributor, etc. Runs awesome and starts every time. It has no rust at all and it is an old Jeep so it does have a couple of drips which is to be expected. This vehicle is ready to roll so you can buy and drive. Also has the heater option which is nice. Everything is working. The paint is nice, but this is not the $16,000-$20,000 Restoration that you see out there, but it is a very nice $12,000 Jeep and worth the money. Doors Included (see picture). I would partial trade for an old 70's enduro. Please serious inquiries only.
