Performance With instant, fuss-free throttle response and great traction across the rev range, the 865cc parallel twin pumps out a full-blooded 72Nm of torque at a mere 3300rpm and peak power of 61PS at 6800rpm for a perfect balance of driving low-down and midrange performance. Configuration Packed with plenty of thumping good vibrations, the Bonneville-based parallel twin air-cooled engine design incorporates a 270° crankshaft with added balancer shafts to deliver a smooth, pulsating drive for a natural, responsive feeling. Exhaust A deeply distinctive exhaust note matches the motor s relaxed drive, and is delivered through characteristic splayed header pipes exiting into either the twin, tapered cones of the America and America LT, or through the Speedmaster s slash-cut silencers.
