Not a full restoration, but in very, very good condition. Ridden almost daily for past 18 months. No mechanical issues and very few cosmetic flaws. Engine has about 5500 miles since total rebuild from sludge trap out. Too many new parts to list. WHEELS: Original Dunlop rims in very good shape. Rear has some small spots where chrome has peeled around the outer bead, otherwise great shape. Chrome excellent, spokes/nipples have no rust. all bearings either replaced or repacked with fresh grease. Wheels trued to within .015". Hubs cleaned and painted; brake drums in good shape, new brake shoes. Rear sprocket in good shape. Tires are Kendas; both are in good shape. FORKS: New fork tubes, bushings, seals and fork boots. New fork oil. FRAME ETC: Straight w/no dents or bends. Swingarm bobbins just replaced. No dents in gas or oil tank, side cover, or rear fender. Front fender has one very small dent, but have to really look to find it. Comes with correct Lucas reflectors and mounts. Seat is in good shape, but l/h side has one part where outer vinyl has separated from inner fabric (will show in pictures). New handlebar bushings. All chrome is in great shape except for on rear grab rail (this is the correct 1970 only part with top loop being chrome and lower part painted black); this chrome is ok. New rear shocks. Gas tank has original paint in very good shape. One small spot of surface rust, but is in great shape for 46 y/o tank. Rear fender is NOS factory replacement with factory paint. ELECTRICAL: Aftermarket wiring harness. Rear brake switch and main H/L switch are Emgo replacements, the rest are genuine Lucas. Tail light and lens are genuine Lucas and are also in great shape. Headilght shell is Lucas, but I replaced the lens/bulb with halogen sealed beam because I actually like to see where I'm going at night. All bulbs work. Charging system is stock Lucas and works like gangbusters; ammeter is original Lucas and works. Ignition has been replaced with Boyer system because I ride this bike alot and get tired of fooling with points. Speedo and tach are both correct black face Smith's instruments. Both work well, are quite accurate and are great cosmetically. Cables recently replaced. ENGINE: Totally rebuilt about 5000 miles ago. Cases and crank disassembled and thoroughly cleaned. All parts inspected and anything not in spec or showing signs of wear were replaced. Valve seats re-cut and valves lapped. New gaskets and seals. New Amal carb body with new Stay Up float kit and brass float needle. New air filter element. New plugs and fuel filters. Oil has been changed regularly. New layshaft bearings in gearbox (main bearings in great shape). I have been working on these bikes for a living for over 15 years and have been riding them for over 30. I know them very well and have ridden this bike enough to have all bugs worked out and have replaced any parts needing replacing. For more pictures or to ask questions please contact me via email.
