Engine 955cc

Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE The Super III stock engine is 885cc. This engine is now a 955cc. The engine case was machined to take 955 cylinders and pistons. We used pistons and rods from a 2002 Sprint because the weight was exactly the same as the Super III’s, 754 grams. No engine balancing was required and the engine is as smooth as it has always been. The Triumph service manager was impressed and he liked the extra bottom end torque it now has. This rebuilt engine now has about 1,000 miles on it. Of course many newer parts were put into it. To name a few: cylinder liners, pistons, crankshaft, main & connecting rod bearings, cam chain and adjuster, resurfaced head. Rare – You probably already know, only a few of these bikes were made and imported to the U.S. No accidents, just a minor tip over that dented the front stainless strap on the right muffler. It was always well maintained, and runs great. It looks good, always garaged but it has 69,000 so it is not a perfect museum piece. The paint scratch on the tank was rubbed out, but now it missing some yellow paint. The seat cowling has a crack on each side from the securing screws. Above the base of the left mirror there is a small crack from 8 years ago. That crow got his last bite of road kill and was hit at over 80 mph. Bird guts everywhere. That wear on the front corner of the seat is the same on the other side. Modifications: Dynojet carb kit installed in Mikuni carbs, it gets 40 mpg. Sprint foot pegs with matching brake pedal and shifting gear, original equipment available. Shortened center stand from a Trophy, good for maintenance. Carbon fiber looking levers and gas cap. 12 volt plug for a radar detector. Extra auxiliary fuse box for added goodies. Please ask questions, or for more pictures. I prefer local pickup since I haven’t ever shipped a bike before so I don’t know what the cost would be, but I’ll help if needed.
