2003 Suzuki V-Strom 1000 ABS ADVENTURE, Up for sale is a pristine DL1000, which I've had for just over a year, yet only have put a couple of hundred miles on. So let me answer that first question first ... why am I selling? I moved here almost 16 months ago. In Virginia I had a stable of bikes and rode every weekend. So I decided to buy a bike so I could ride here. And I simply don't have the time, nor the garage. So instead of having "Cheeto" sit in the parking lot (under cover!), I decided it needs a new owner. Just over 40k miles, it has Givi bags, aftermarket exhausts, crash guards, and brand new tires. Serviced less than 100 miles ago. Bike runs great, sounds great ... just doesn't get to do anything other than sit. So ... come on by, visit the beach, and buy a bike. Test rides will cost you the price of admission. (You can watch me ride it around if you don't have cash in hand). The Credit Union has the title, but they're close by. 2004 Suzuki V-Strom 1000 ABS ADVENTURE, 2004 Suzuki V-Strom 1000 (DL1000), GREAT ADVENTURE BIKE. Some call them "trailies," others say "off-road sport," but Suzuki calls it "Sport Enduro Tourer." The versatile V-Strom combines the performance of a proven V-twin power plant with nimble handling, aggressive styling and a comfortable riding position. New features for 04 include an all-new adjustable windscreen and easier-to-read gauge package. A strong, lightweight, aluminum-alloy twin-spar frame supports the DL1000 and provides a 60.5-inch wheelbase and 32.8-inch seat height. The twin-spar aluminum frame helps keep claimed dry weight down to a slim 455 pounds, which, for reference, is 110 pounds lighter than BMW's R1150GS. Front suspension consists of 43mm cartridge forks with adjustable spring preload. In the rear, an aluminum-alloy swing arm is mated to a piggyback-reservoir shock with adjustable rebound damping and a convenient knob-operated spring-preload adjuster. Approximately 6 inches of wheel travel is available both front and rear. Wheels are lightweight cast-aluminum-alloy units with radial tires. Dual 310mm rotors are mounted up front and a 260mm disc is mounted at the rear. Completing the V-Strom are an aggressive front fairing, a long-range, 5.8-gallon fuel tank, high-mounted mufflers and an off-road-inspired skid plate.
