The 2014 Suzuki QuadSport Z400 is engineered for high-performance off-road four-wheeling with smooth power-output and throttle response from Suzuki fuel injection. Liquid-cooling system with high-capacity radiator and thermostatically controlled cooling fan provides consistent engine operating temperature Engine Control Unit uses a 16-bit CPU and a 96-kilobyte ROM unit. The system is programmed to obtain improved traction by selecting the optimum injection volume, injection timing and ignition timing based on throttle position, engine rpm, and other data monitored. Compact, lightweight 398cc 4-stroke, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled Dual Overhead Cam engine with counter-balancer tuned for tractable power over a wide rpm range. Suzuki fuel-injection system features a 36mm throttle body and 12-hole injector that delivers the fuel/air mix in an efficient fine-mist spray pattern. Dry-sump lubrication system allows a compact crankcase and minimal engine height for optimum engine placement - oil tank is frame-mounted in front of the exhaust head pipes. Convenient electric start system includes Start-In-Gear feature - electric start system and CDI ignition are powered by compact maintenance-free battery. Five-speed transmission with cable-operated clutch includes an easy-to-use reverse gear system: turn the fender-mounted knob and shift to reverse using the gear shift lever. 2004 Suzuki QuadSport Z400 (LT-Z400), GOOD STARTER UNIT FOR THE WOODS !!! - Recently named the ATV of the year by "4-wheel ATV Action Magazine," the Suzuki QuadSport Z400 continues to dominate the sport ATV marketplace. The Z400 features an advanced four-stroke powerplant, state-of-the art chassis and suspension components and a slick-shifting five -speed transmission all combined in a powerful, nimble and lightweight package. The year 2004 brings the addition of a new detachable rear grabrail, an easy-to-use drive chain-adjustment system, retuned exhaust sound, and an RM-inspired graphics package for an aggressive look. Powering the QuadSport Z400 is a high-performance 398cc liquid-cooled, DOHC, single-cylinder four-stroke engine. Its bore and stroke measure 90.0mm x 62.6mm. Four valves are actuated by cam lobes riding directly on bucket tappets. The cylinder head features a narrow 28-degree included valve angle for a compact, efficient combustion chamber with an 11.3:1 compression ratio. Fuel is supplied by a 36mm Mikuni carburetor feeding 36mm intake valves, with exhaust leaving through 29mm valves. A dry sump lubrication system contributes to the more compact engine package. The aluminum-alloy cylinder is plated with Suzuki's own race-proven nickel phosphorus-silicon-carbide coating, known as SCEM (Suzuki Composite Electrochemical Material), for reduced weight and improved heat transfer, allowing for tighter and more efficient piston-to-cylinder clearance. Additionally, the piston is forged aluminum-alloy for even more weight savings. A counter-balancer shaft reduces vibration, while an automatic cam chain tensioner and an electronic CDI ignition simplify maintenance duties. Engineered for fun.
