Features:Single cylinder, long-stroke 500cc unit-construction engineModern, reliable electronic fuel injectionElectric and kick startStandardized modern 5-speed transmission (left-side shift, one-down-four-up pattern)Great fuel economy - I’ve averaged over 60 mpg, careful riding bumps it over 70 mpg! This is a 2011 B5 - the classic original Royal Enfield Bullet look and feel, but with modern and reliable updates - including fuel injection and a front disc brake. The color is basic black with exquisite hand-painted gold striping, and the refined old-style logo (not the updated “elephant-trunk” style, which some don’t prefer). The fuel injection system was designed and built by Keihin; because these bikes are regularly ridden into the Himalayan mountains, the system is made for reliable running to over 18,000 feet - so no problem here in New England! This is not a high horsepower, high-RPM sport bike - the engine configuration provides lots of low-RPM torque, and performance is on par with a classic British single, however with a modern unit construction engine. It can handle the highway and its speeds, but where it really shines is on two-lane back roads: all-day fun in the twisties! Nothing is hidden, so maintenance is easy; parts and spares are affordable and easy to come by.The bike is stock, except for a 7” halogen headlight with visor (upgraded from 5-3/4”), upgraded LED “dashboard” lights, chrome “bullet” turn signals, and an upgrade of the starter solenoid and battery and electric start cables. The sprung solo seat is my favorite comfort and style upgrade, but the original bench seat is included, too. There is a new D.I.D. chain, and the sprockets are still like new. The tires are in good shape with plenty of wear remaining (front Avon Speedmaster has 2400 miles on it, rear Dunlop K70 has just 1000 miles). The original wet-cell battery has been upgraded to a high-quality AGM unit, maintained off the bike during winter (“battery tender” cable installed).Garage kept, carefully maintained. Oil and filters freshly changed, just inspected - ride it away! Current mileage 9307k.Issues: No dents, but a few minor paint wear spots - some brand new replacement parts are included. The threads of a lower shock mount stud on the swing arm stripped while removing the original nut - I had it professionally repaired with a new stud to match the original size, but the acorn nut looks different. Also included are all the extras that came with the bike - tool kit, spare inner tube and the complete set of spare cables - plus some spare parts and complete set of owner’s and factory service manuals.Asking $3200 or best offer.
