It has been in the current collectors hands for many years and has always been kept stored indoors and is really in very nice condition. It was recently recommissioned to be prepared for sale-with new a new battery, fuel system overhaul, and new tires-and runs and drives great. It is fitted with a JC Whitney type Musical Horn. The chassis on this car appears completely rust free. its a great little fun car for summer time cruising, Classic Styling with the unbeatable reliability of a VW. Fiberfab Velocidad Inc was a kit car manufacturer founded by Warren "Bud" Goodwin in 1964. Goodwin was a former sports-car racer and a keen fisherman, born in 1921 or 1922. His earlier company, Sports Car Engineering had manufactured Microplas Mistral bodies under licence and sold them as the Spyder. He founded Fiberfab in 1964. In 1967 Goodwin was arrested on suspicion of murder for shooting his 28-year-old second wife, Jamaica. The Police said he had found Jamaica with Farbus Kidoo. Goodwin claimed the shooting was accidental. He was charged with the voluntary manslaughter and sentenced to 12 months imprisonment. He died in jail on 26 December 1968 of a heart attack. Fiberfab started building street rod parts and body panels for Mustangs in Los Angeles before moving on to kit cars. The company moved first to Sunnyvale, and then in 1966 to Santa Clara. It had a branch in West Germany from 1967 until 1973 at Ditzigen. The American company was still operating at Santa Clara in 1970 after the death of Goodwin. In 1971 Fiberfab was a Division of Concept Design America, a California-based company, ATR Incorporated, a Pennsylvania Corporation, acquired ownership of Fiberfab in November 1974. Around this time the company became named Fiberfab Incorporated. In 1977 Fiberfab and James Crank's JDEX Company combined to make a steam-powered record attempt car using the Aztec 7 body-kit powered by a LMC Corporation steam engine developed as part the Lear Steam Bus Program. They planned the speed record attempt for August at Bonneville.] The car failed to exceed 100 mph and was sold to the Barber-Nichols Engineering Company. Barber-Nicholls rebuilt it. On its first attempt it reached 111 mph. Robert Barber at Bonneville on August 19, 1985 reached 145.607 mph but the car caught fire and was unable to complete its second run. The car is on display at the National Automobile Museum in Reno, Nevada. By 1979 the company was based at Minneapolis. In 1983 the company was sold to Classic Motor Carriages (at the time Fiberfab Incorporated's largest competitor) and renamed Fiberfab International. The build of this Cobra was completed in Indianapolis Indiana by a team of mechanics who have experience in Indy Car mechanics and race car building. The build was finished in Summer of 2014. This car has no donor car parts whatsoever! Everything used on the car was purchased brand new. Powering this Cobra is the legendary 5.0L “Coyote” V8 purchased directly from Ford racing and a Tremec TKO600 5-speed manual transmission also purchased directly from Ford Racing. The car also features a Ford 8.8 rear end, Torsen limited slip differential with 3.73 gears, fully independent rear suspension, Koni coil over shock and springs, 14" Wilwood rotors and 6 piston calipers in front and 12" rotors with 4 piston calipers in the rear.This car was built to be a more “modern” interpretation of the Cobra. It features brand new TSW wheels, 19x9 fronts and 19x11 rears, mounted on brand new Nitto tires, matte black powder coated roll bar, side pipes and other trim components, custom made carbon fiber center console and dash with Auto Meter gauges.All around, this car looks and sounds the way a Cobra should. I bought it, drove a few miles then decided to build it over with all new parts . It has never had plates on it. I put a nine inch rear end with a new trac lock in it. new disc brakes all around. new wheels and tires . New gas tank and sender. Gauges are new I. Interior panels are new and need installing along with carpet. I have no seats. Steering rack is also new. I built a big block stroker engine for it but couldn't get it to fit. I'm now out of time as My work schedule gets crazy for about 6 mos starting next week so rather than let it sit and gather dust , I'm letting it go to Someone Who can finish it. The body kit was made using the highest quality fiberglassing of molds, in the industry. The fiberglass panels are thick and sturdy. This will prevent fiberglass spider cracks in the future. Unlike most fiberglass body kits, the panels are perfectly straight and look OEM. The hood and trunk open like a factory car as well. There are proper hinges, gas struts and weather stripping for the trunk. The headlights and taillights are exact replicas of the OEM ones. The inside headlights have been custom painted, from black, to match the exterior paint. The paint on the car is synergy green. The interior is made using replica fiberglass dash and panel structure. The wood grain in the car is made from a simulated wood grain. If you want to achieve the actual look and feel of OEM, I recommend having panel wrapped in wood veneer.
