Thumb switch activates 6-wheel drive system. Polaris 500 4-valve, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled engine with an advanced dry sump lubrication system. Rear suspension consists of a progressive rate center swing arm with 6.5 inches of travel and a rear swing arm with a scissor stabilizer and 7.5 inches of travel. Tight-turning MacPherson strut front suspension with 6.7 inches of travel. Dual-sensing fully automatic PVT (Polaris Variable Transmission). Single-lever all-wheel hydraulic disc brakes with dual-caliper hydraulic auxiliary hand brake. Quartz halogen headlights and a brake light. Electric start with recoil backup. 4.25-gallon fuel tank.
