For sale 1950 James Autocycle. I understand that this is the Superlux with a 98cc Villier motor. Purchased from an estate sale in Northern Indiana on a bill of sale-no title. I was told it hadn't ran in years. Gas tank was bone dry. Put in fresh gas and it started on the 4th kick. Runs great! Lights and speedometer work. Speedometer reads 06096. Does need to be cleaned up. Someone, at sometime, spray painted with army green paint. This is the way I purchased this rare motorcycle. I don't know if it was originally army related or not. All of the information aquired about this bike is somewhat speculative, as not much information was available at the time of sale. I want to be able to provide as much information as possible without misleading anyone. Therefore I am clearly stating that I cannot confirm if this information is accurate. 1. There is a stamp on the motor. The information I have aquired about the stamp is listed below:Motor is stamped: 932/12568D932 = 10D = 122ccD = Close Ratio Transmission 2. No VIN number found on motorcycleI have been told that this motorcycle was made prior to the use of VIN numbers so it is not a suprise that one cannot be found. I hope this information help.
