1958 Jawa 500 OHC. This is perhaps the most coveted model of Jawa motorcycle. Apart from Jawa Supersport and various competition models, the 500 is a rare sight in Europe, and especially here in the US.If you are not familiar with this bike please read the article linked below. After buying this Jawa several years ago I quickly discovered that apart from the frame, engine and wheels not much else was original. The gas tank, fenders and tool boxes were Jawa Perak items. The engine, the most important part of this bike was fortunately complete but it needed a bit of work. The top end was rebuilt with new pistons and valves, the magneto replaced and new oil lines installed. While the parts for this rare bike are um… rare, they can be had if you know where to look or if you know someone who knows where to look. The rest of the restoration was carried out by Florida-based Jawa expert. He sourced the original as well as reproduction parts needed to bring this 500 to its former glory. While the bike looks fantastic it will need some additional engine tweaking. It seems that the timing will have to be dialed in and an oil leak (possibly from oil lines) addressed. Not being a mechanic, I won’t even attempt to resolve these issues myself. I’m letting go of this bike to finance restoration of another Czechoslovakian-made beauty: Tatra T600. The bike comes with Illinois title. For international buyers, please have your shipping/importing details sorted out before bidding. Here is what Robert Smith of Motorcycle Classics.com had to say about Jawa 500 in his December 2014 article: “[T]he 500’s ingenuity of design, quality of finish, and attention to detail was almost breathtaking, and certainly on par with BMW. Examples include the air filter neatly encased in a cutout in the oil tank, the throttle cable running inside the handlebars, the elegant headlight nacelle (…), the massive rear suspension plunger castings designed to prevent any “looseness” in the rear wheel, the inclusion of hydraulic dampers inside the plunger housings, and the discreet use of gold pinstriping. [T]he overall feel is one of quality and sophistication, reflecting a Jawa tradition that even their communist overlords couldn’t suppress.” You can see the engine running here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGLy-S4KF3U&feature=youtu.be You can read the article here: http://www.motorcycleclassics.com/more-classic-motorcycles/classic-jawa-motorcycles/jawa-500-zm0z14ndzkel.aspx?PageId=2

1958 Velorex Oskar. This is a rare example of an early production Velorex Oskar as indicated by the low frame number 1596 (out of approximately 15,000 Velorexes ever built between early 1950 and late 1960s). Velorexes that come up for sale are typically later models that were produced in mid- to late 1960s. Unlike later models, early production Oskar has springs in the front suspension instead of shock absorbers. Very few Oskars have survived. As was often the practice in the old days, this Oskar received an upgraded engine sometimes after 1963. A two-cylinder, 350 cc engine with a dynastarter replaced the 250cc single-cylinder making this Velorex the best combination of rarity of an Oskar with drivability of a more powerful engine. The 350cc engine makes the Velorex capable of keeping up with modern traffic and the electric starter is infinitely better to the hand-lever attached to a kickstarter shaft. The Oskar had its frame stripped and repainted in original color. The fenders were restored and repainted, new tires and tubes fitted on repainted rims. New wiring installed. The engine received a thorough ($2,500-worth) overhaul by Florida-based Jawa restorer. Crank shaft was rebuilt and balanced, new bearings, seals, clutch, primary duplex chain were fitted. The cylinder heads we re-bored and new pistons and rings fitted. The gearbox was cleaned and inspected, no additional work was required. Dynastarter was cleaned, inspected and tested. Ignition points replaced, the engine tuned. Velorex starts and drives as it should. The only thing this Oskar needs is to have the outer panels installed and the windshield fitted (the glass and rubber seal are included). I recently imported high-quality set of “skins” that consists of outer panels, upholstery, window frames with new windows and the convertible top as well as a set of hardware needed to attach the panels to the frame. This kit is considered to be the most authentic reproduction of the original. I can supply detailed pictures of an original Velorex to help the next owner with the work.

The Rodeo, built by ACL for Renault, is a beach buggy in the style of Citroen Mehari, Mini Moke, Fiat Jolly or VW Thing. Rodeo is based on the Renault 4 platform and Renault 6 4-cyl, 1198 cc engine. Fiberglass body tub is attached to the steel floorpan with all independent suspension and FWD. While often described as a utility vehicle, Rodeo is all about driving fun. Light steering, eager (if a little underpowered) engine and umbrella-handle shifter make for a memorable trip, no matter how short the distance. With the hardtop in place the little Renault assumes perhaps the most serious role in its repertoire. Fold the rear seat and you can go Ikea shopping or camping. With canvas convertible top installed and side panels in place it offers rain protection but with side panels removed, the Rodeo becomes an amusement ride. Take the top off, fold the windshield down and head for the beach or down your favorite country lane. Driving the Rodeo this way is like riding a scooter, all smiles and giggles. This Rodeo was refurbished a few years back. It looks and drives very well. I wrote “refurbished” as the aim of the previous owner was clearly not to turn this Rodeo into a show quality car but rather to have a reliable and useable, fun and entertaining driver. The rear hatch has a couple of small cracks under the rear window, mended with pop rivets (see picture). Otherwise clean engine compartment shows some welding marks where the sheet metal was replaced. The green paint looks good. The simple interior is clean and free of defects. The dashboard is free of cracks. Alpine steering wheel is a surprising addition and a pleasure to hold. Canvas top, side panels and cargo bars are included and are in excellent condition. The 4x4 insignia are strictly for fun. Front-wheel drive only. Pictures with the canvas top were taken while the car was still in Europe. Inspections and test drives are welcome prior to the auction’s conclusion. The Rodeo comes with Illinois title. All import papers are in order. Actual VIN:0505090
