This is a 1953 Allard J2X professionally built by Elite Industries. This is not a home built kit car. This is a factory built car with factory serial number #J2X-0029 and is incredibly rare. The Ferrari red paint looks amazing and the entire car is almost mint. A popular swap in the 60's was to take the original 331 Cadilliac engine out and replace it with a small block Ford. This car has a bar'd 65 Ford 289 that is in immaculate condition. The black leatherette is very comfortable and in excellent condition. The wire Borrani style wheels really set the car off and give it a very classy stance. This car is perfectly proportioned to factory specs and the Brooklyn Style windscreens fold down if you want to get that classic wind in your face effect like the earliest racers. You can see and hear the racing heritage in this car. The entire car only has 580 miles on it and runs and drives like a dream. London Taxi, 1959 Beardmore mark VII Here is a rare London taxi in that it is a four door model with a bench seat in the driver's compartment. This cab was made by the Beardmore Company of Scotland. Beardmore was one of the first London taxi manufacturers and their cabs were once considered "the Rolls Royce of taxi cabs. This one, the mark VII, was built in 1959. It is all original except for the engine. I know not when but it was re-powered with a 1972 Datsun 510 engine installed in it. Very simple to care for. No smog certificate is required. It is in very good to excellent condition. It does have some minor issues to be dealt with. One is the left front fender is damaged. Another is the roof around the lighted taxi sign is damaged. This car is made of aircraft material and the body is aluminum and fiberglass, and ash wood on a steel chassis. The damaged areas are fiberglass. In the coach itself one armrest is damaged. Original interior is still useable this would benefit from new upholstery. No floor pads in driver's compartment. It has the original sliding glass panels between the driver and passenger. There is no Taximeter, no radio. There is air conditioning, but needs to be recharged with refrigerant. The battery is new. This is a right hand drive with a column shift for an automatic transmission. There are no restrictions on rhd's on US highways. Because it was designed for London streets in the 1950's these cabs had a maximum speed of 35 mph. and this one is no exception. So its great for parades and driving in town, but put it on a flatbed if you want to go any where with it. I have just put a new fuel pump on and the carburetor needs to be cleaned. The head light switch is dodgey and should be replaced and I have the replacement. SMOKE FREE. I don't have time to take care of this car or even to enjoy it, so down the road she goes.
