Very solid 1963 Sunbeam Alpine. No indication of any rust anywhere. Looks like original upholstery in fair to poor condition. Still has top and tonneau cover in poor shape. Had car running and yard driving and then I got to screwing around with timing and have not got it back running . Most everything is here including operational windshield wipers, directional signals and horn. Gauges all seem to work. I cleaned tank and replaced some lines and added an electric fuel pump for good measure(still have good mechanical pump). Clutch and gearbox shift perfectly. Brakes grabby but I have new wheel cylinders for rear. Wire rims and tires are great, although I don't know age of tires. I once heard a guy describe his paint job as being done with a bucket of paint and a mop...this paint job fits in that category. Unless you want car to be kind of a rat rod, it will need new paint. Original color was red. There is some bondo on body, but it seems to be for small dent repair, not rust. Car needs all new rubber at windows, etc. A lot of extra parts come with car: an extra transmission, a set of 4 hubs to replace wire wheels if you want to use minalite rims or any standard rims and a box of distributors, etc. As for the history of the car. According to the serial number it was bought in England and brought to states by private individual. The car has a clear Virginia title and it looks to be a replacement id plate on car. It was purchased last year from an estate of an elderly gentleman that had it in his garage and tinkered with it for 30 years. This car can easily become a very cool weekend driver or a proper restoration. Don't pass this up for a rust bucket. Am selling this due to age and too many projects. Sold as is, where is. Buyer is responsible for shipping, but I will help load (maybe if I have time, get it running).

View our eBay StoreSign up for our Email Newsletter 1963 Sunbeam Alpine offered with a reserve I purchased this car quite by accident at the Worldwide Auburn sale 3 years ago, it was part of a large collection of funky little cars being offered there. It was a solid runner, but was pretty tatty all around. I decided to dive in and fix her up cosmetically-new paint-interior-headliner-rubber trim-grill-dash-and opted to go with a cream over red livery, which while not a catalogue color scheme, I thought would suit the car well. I must say I'm am very pleased with how the car turned out. It does not have a soft top, strictly the removable hardtop and thats it. Of course we've had to do some mechanical work as well, including an entire new brake system, new tires, battery, and I decided to add a perktronix ignition system for reliability. This car runs exceptionally well, with brisk accelleration, smooth shifting, strong brakes, and nimble handling These early cars were not widely imported to the US, and are quite rare stateside. They have really started coming up in the marketplace, and I think this will be a good investment car to hold for the next 3-5 years, and enjoy in the meantime.  I fully planned to simply keep the car in my collection, but just found another car I just had to have and am out of room. Feel free to call if you have any questions. We have many more photographs of this car, please click on any image to be taken to our full-size image list! The Sunbeam Alpine is a sporty two-seat open car from Rootes Group's Sunbeam car marque. The original was launched in 1953 as the first vehicle from Sunbeam-Talbot to bear the Sunbeam name alone since the 1935 takeover of Sunbeam and Talbot by the Rootes Group. A muscle-car variant of the later versions was also built, the Sunbeam Tiger. Kenneth Howes and Jeff Crompton were tasked with doing a complete redesign in 1956, with the goal of producing a dedicated sports car aimed principally at the US market. Ken Howes contributed some 80 per cent of the overall design work, which bears more than incidental resemblance to the early Ford Thunderbird[citation needed]; Howe had worked at Ford before joining Rootes. The Alpine was produced in four subsequent revisions through to 1968. Total production numbered around 70,000. Production stopped shortly after the Chrysler takeover of the Rootes Group. The "Series" Alpine started production in 1959. One of the original prototypes still survives and was raced by British Touring car champion Bernard Unett. The car made extensive use of components from other Rootes Group vehicles and was built on a modified floorpan from the Hillman Husky estate car. The running gear came mainly from the Sunbeam Rapier, but with front disc brakes replacing the saloon car's drums. An overdrive unit and wire wheels were optional. The suspension was independent at the front using coil springs and at the rear had a live axle and semi-elliptic springing. The Girling-manufactured brakes used 9.5 in disc at the front and 9 in drums at the rear. Coupe versions of the post-1959 version were built by Thomas Harrington Ltd. Until 1962 the car was assembled for Rootes by Armstrong Siddeley. An open car with overdrive was tested by the British magazine The Motor in 1959. It had a top speed of 99.5 mph and could accelerate from 0–60 mph in 13.6 seconds. A fuel consumption of 31.4 miles per imperial gallon ( 26.1 mpg-US) was recorded. The test car cost £1031 including taxes. 11,904 examples of the series I were produced. The Series I featured a 1494 cc engine and was styled by the Loewy Studios for the Rootes Group. It had dual downdraft carburetors, a soft top that could be hidden by special integral covers and the first available roll up side windows offered in a British sports car of that time. The Series II of 1962 featured an enlarged 1592 cc engine producing 80 bhp and revised rear suspension, but there were few other changes. When it was replaced in 1963, 19,956 had been made. Our Ebay Policies: Significant Cars is one of the largest Collector Car Brokers and Dealers in the Country.  Since 2003 we have worked hard to "change the way collector cars find new homes" by providing unparralleled web presentation of the cars we are representing.  Most of our cars have over 30 photographs, and these can be viewed by visiting our website (our eBay handle dot com), or by clicking on any of the photographs in the black background area of our EBay listings.  We welcome your call with any questions about any of our listings at anytime at 800-837-9902 and certainly encourage your personal inspection of any of the cars we are selling-just call us and we will be happy to set up an appointment for your to see and test drive the car. We realize that eBay is a difficult venue to properly evaluate an item as complex as an automobile.  You can feel secure bidding with confidence on any of our cars since we guarantee your satisfaction!  Should you win the auction and come to see the car and decide you do not want it for any reason, no negative feedback will result, any deposit you may have paid will be cheerfully refunded. 1953 Sunbeam Alpine mark 1 a little history and info on the car. The Alpine Mark I and Mark III (no Mark II was made) were hand-built – as was the 90 drophead coupé – at Thrupp & Maberly coachbuilders from 1953 to 1955, and remained in production for only two years. Of the 1582 automobiles produced, 961 were exported to the USA and Canada, 445 stayed in the UK, and 175 went to other world markets. It has been estimated that perhaps as few as 200 have survived. very rare car. The Alpine was derived from the Sunbeam-Talbot 90 Saloon, and has become colloquially known as the "Talbot" Alpine. It was a two-seater sports roadster initially developed by Sunbeam-Talbot dealer George Hartwell in Bournemouth,[1] as a one-off rally car. It had its beginnings as a 1952 Sunbeam-Talbot drophead coupé, and was supposedly named by Norman Garrad of the works Competition Department, who was heavily involved in Sunbeam-Talbot's successes in the Alpine Rally during the early 1950s using the saloon models. The car has a four-cylinder 2267 cc engine from the saloon, but with a raised compression ratio. However, since it was developed from the saloon platform, it suffered from rigidity compromises despite extra side members in the chassis. The gearbox ratios were changed, and from 1954 an overdrive unit became standard. The gearchange lever was column-mounted It is registered non operational with a clear California title needs full restoration the car is complete a lot of the original parts are there. the car has been sitting for a number of years unknown if the engine will run the top has since ripped at the top since the pictures were taken. has a custom rumble seat in the rear car has been in California so it looks like theres no rust damage anywhere on body. please message me with any specific questions or to look at the car. here's your chance to own a rare piece of history or for a museum

Our number one focus has always been our customers. What started out as a hobby for owner Roy Cats, quickly turned into a successful business venture as he helped many of his friends find the car of their dreams. By the time 2002 rolled around, Roy was almost too busy to partake in the hobby side of things as helping the people he met along the way buy and sell their cars quickly became a full time gig. Cats Exotics specializes not only in Lamborghinis but in all types of cars from Exotics, to Luxury cars, to Muscle cars, to Rare collectibles. Being car people first and business people second, we have been able to cultivate a customer base that we never take for granted and we focus on building long lasting, trusting relationships with all of our clients. As Roy always says, “It’s easier to keep a customer than gain a new one.” Since we are a family business, we try to never lose sight of the important things in life and do our best to enjoy the cars as much as we also make a business out of selling them. Whether it is a trade-in, consignment, brokering service, or simply just a purchase from our inventory we treat every customer the same whether it is a $500 car part or a $500,000 Supercar. No matter what, American car guys will always know the Sunbeam Tiger as "that car from Get Smart". While a stock 1965 Sunbeam Tiger may have been Maxwell Smart's ride of choice, the boys at KAOS probably tooled around in something closer to this wild 1967 Tiger tribute. While it started out as a garden variety Alpine, the transformation is impressive. From the custom 2x3 tube chassis to the professionally-built 427 stroker, everything here has been upgraded or built from scratch with an insatiable need for speed and an utter contempt for rear tires. Completed in 2007, this fully re-engineered convertible has the kind of presence that draws a crowd within minutes and has never been shown competitively. If you're ready to countersteer your way to a case full of trophies, take a minute to learn about this sinister Sunbeam.Appeal starts on the outside where an even coat of Torch Red graces the familiar lines. Super Sport-style stripes run from nose to tail, accenting the base coat in a shade of silver borrowed from the BMW paint charts. The paint work is impressive but a lot of the initial "wow" factor can be attributed to the laser straight sheet metal below. A quick look down the side is all it takes to confirm that the builder knocked that section of the build out of the park! Panel gaps are measured and consistent all around and crisp reflections can be found from any angle. Should the weather turn against you, a manually operated, tan canvas top snaps into place, both protecting you from the elements and adding a nice contrast against the bright hue below.Once you get over the initial excitement of seeing this car for the first time, there are some fun details to admire. Up front, the bumper has been removed for a more aggressive look. At either side, HID headlights cap the fenders while the big aluminum radiator peaks through the open grille. A hood scoop has been molded onto the stock hood, providing fresh air to the engine below while those silver stripes continue to lead the eye back. The windshield is devoid of any notable flaws, surrounded by well-preserved stainless and kept clean by electric windshield wipers. With the top up, the car could almost pass for a tamer version of itself but the roll cage hints at the car's true nature from nearly every angle. The side profile is a clean one with only crisp "Tiger" badges and chrome door handles breaking up the red paint. Out back, the striped decklid slopes between peaked fenders topped with relatively long oval-shaped taillights. Sunbeam lettering tops the license plate recess while the center-mounted kill switch and "6-speed" badge serve as reminders this is no regular Tiger. What makes a nimble 2,500 lb convertible even more fun? Why, 449 rear-wheel horsepower of course! The source of that power is a Ford 427ci Windsor V8 bolted together by the crew at Paul Anthony Race Engines. They started with a 1983-vintage cast iron four-bolt main 351W block, stroked it to 427 cubic inches, and filled it with high-quality hardware like a SCAT 4340 crank, SCAT 4340 H-beam rods, forged Probe pistons, Clevite bearings, and a Comp roller cam. Up top, a set of AFR 225 heads were sourced to frame a Trick Flow R-series intake with a Wilson 90mm throttle body and a custom Wilson-fabricated top. Thanks to 10.7:1 compression, the car happily runs on premium pump gas which is delivered by an Electromotive fuel injection system that utilizes billet fuel rails and 55lb/hr Precision Turbo injectors. Up front, the accessory drive spins little more than the water pump and chrome alternator while, opposite, an aluminum Griffin radiator pairs with a single electric fan to keep everything cool. Turn the key and firewall-mounted coil packs signal the engine to come to life while a set of long-tube headers carry spent gases out through side-exit exhaust with glasspack-style mufflers. The engine is plumbed for nitrous but the system is currently disconnected out of respect for mortality.Slide under this Sunbeam for a closer look at the distinctly non-original chassis. The foundation is a custom 2x3 tube chassis in a fresh coat of red paint. Up front, a Chassis Works Mustang II-style front suspension incorporates chrome control arms and VariShock coilovers while a custom ladder bar setup with Moroso coilovers keep the rear in place. Since the car is relatively light, the manual rack-and-pinion was a great choice for steering especially paired with the brawny Wilwood braking system that utilizes 13-inch rotors and six-piston calipers up front and 12-inch rotors and four-piston calipers out back. In the center of all that hardware, a stout Tremec T56 6-speed handles the power thanks to plenty of upgrades by Rockland Standard Gear. The transmission was built to handle 800 lb-ft of torque with the addition of a Quick Time steel bellhousing, RAM clutch, steel flywheel, and hydraulic slave cylinder. From there, power flows to a narrowed Ford 9-inch with a Detroit Locker and versatile 3.50 gears. At the ground level, a set of 17-inch eight-spoke wheels from Vintage Wheel Works meet the road through a combination of 195/40R17 Yokohamas and 315/35R17 Mickey Thompsons. As you might expect, the interior is compact and mostly business. There's a pair of leather-wrapped buckets for you and your Agent 99, complete with bright red Simpson harnesses. The safety theme continues thanks to the 5-point roll cage that wraps around the interior space. At either side, custom leather-wrapped door panels tie in with the tan leather dash pad while, below, fresh tan carpet with matching floor mats keeps the floors covered. Crawl into the driver seat for a closer look at the quick-disconnect Grant wheel which definitely comes in handy in a car this size. The dash extends both the red base and silver stripes into the cabin with a set of Auto Meter gauges keeping tabs on speed, revs, fuel, oil pressure, oil temperatures, water, temperature, and voltage. If you're looking for items like a radio or a heater, you won't find either here but there is a fire extinguisher and a big bottle of nitrous behind the seat if you ever want to turn the heat up a bit. Under the decklid, the trunk space is mostly consumed by a 20-gallon fuel cell nestled between the frame rails. An Optima red top also lives there, though there is still room for your shoe phone in the carpeted areas on either side. The sale of this Sunbeam includes a set of restoration images that cover all the highlights of the build. There is also a stack of paperwork that includes engine specs, the cam card, and numerous receipts that not only provide the costs but many key part numbers as well.Get Smart references aside, this Tiger tribute is an absolutely brutal car not meant for the faint of heart. With enough traction, the 427 stroker might be able to reverse the rotation of the earth and the chassis is stout enough to make dump trucks jealous. It's the kind of car that not only turns heads, but gets you instant respect just for having the guts to drive it on public roads. If you're looking for a compact thrill generator guaranteed to steal the show wherever it goes, take CONTROL of this Sunbeam today! For more Information Call Matt: 513-646-7757 I reserve the right to end this auction early.
