1999 Solectria Force electric car, a professional conversion of a Chevy (Geo) Metro. This car runs entirely on batteries. With new batteries the range between charges is about 40 miles (less in winter or with freeway driving). Charge at home from 120V or 240V outlet, or from public charging stations using included J1772 converter. The charger is a Brusa NLG512. This is the recent line of Brusa chargers that do not have all the overheating problems of the NLG4. It is user-programmable with lots of features. It will charge from 120V or 240V. A full charge takes about four hours on 240V, about 10 hours on 120V. The NLG512 has an maximum output current of 18A; Brusa now only makes higher voltage, lower current units with a maximum output current of 12.5A. There was a problem with the gearbox, which we had professionally repaired by Mau Nguyen, formerly of Solectria. The repaired gearbox works perfectly, but makes a "grumbling" noise. Mau says he expects it to get better over time, and it has been doing so, but slowly. The noise has no noticeable effect upon the energy consumption. The car presently has 13 Deka 8G27 lead acid gel batteries, installed at 36,808 miles, so they have about 25,000 miles on them. The range is down to 20-25 miles. Within a few thousand miles you would want to replace the pack, or convert to Lithium. This car has the kerosene heater, but we have not been able to get it to work. Air conditioning and electric heat work. There is some rust and minor dents. See photos. Price $2500 or best offer. A lot of this is for the charger. A Brusa NLG513 from Metric Mind costs $2849, and the NLG512 is better for this application. Payment by cashier's check or cash. Buyer to pick up or arrange shipping. No scams, please.
