Hello to all Ebayers! I have been with EBay for several years and I want to keep my reputation with EBay at 100%. I bought this beautiful car with the intention of bringing it to California to add to my collection but I recently sold my storage facility where I store my classics so I am not able to keep this one. I have a clear Florida title that will be mailed to the buyer. This Bricklin is located in a Copart facility in Jacksonville, Florida. This car is also listed on Sale at a local Copart auction but I put it on Ebay to expedite selling this vehicle since I need to sell it ASAP. Here is the description I have from the previous owner: "This Bricklin is a very unique color that you don't see every day. This Bricklin has original low miles of 47,032. This car is very unique and has doors like a Delorean or a Mercedes SLS. This car is an every day driver that gets a lot of attention! This Bricklin runs and drives great and was maintained. It will need a little TLC in the interior to look better." Here is some information about this car: The Bricklin SV-1 is a gull-wing door sports car that was assembled in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. The body panels were manufactured in a separate plant in Minto, New Brunswick. Manufactured from 1974 until early 1976 for the U.S. market, the car was the creation of Malcolm Bricklin, an American millionaire who had previously founded Subaru of America. The car was designed by Herb Grasse., the Bricklin factory was not able to produce vehicles fast enough to make a profit. As a result, only 2,854 cars were built before the company went into receivership, owing the New Brunswick government $23 million. The model name (SV-1), stood for "safety vehicle one". The original idea for the Bricklin SV-1 was a safe and economical sports car, but due to the added weight of the safety features, the car was inefficient and simply a safe sports car.The Bricklin was designed for safety with an integrated roll cage, 5 mph (8.0 km/h) bumpers, and side beams. The body was fibreglass with bonded acrylic in five "safety" colours: white, red, green, orange and suntan. The cars had no cigarette lighter or ashtray. Non-smoker Malcolm Bricklin believed it was unsafe to smoke and drive. The Bricklin is the only production vehicle in automotive history to have factory powered, gull-wing doors, that opened and closed at the touch of a button, as standard equipment. The later DeLorean DMC-12's gull-wing doors operate manually, and the Tesla Model X's rear doors are considered falcon-wing doors rather than gull-wing due to the extra hinge. The first Bricklin concept car, latter dubbed Grey Ghost, was built by Bruce Meyers of Meyers Manx dune buggy fame in California. Its initial powerplant was a Valiant Slant Six. Very solid 1963 Sunbeam Alpine. No indication of any rust anywhere. Looks like original upholstery in fair to poor condition. Still has top and tonneau cover in poor shape. Had car running and yard driving and then I got to screwing around with timing and have not got it back running . Most everything is here including operational windshield wipers, directional signals and horn. Gauges all seem to work. I cleaned tank and replaced some lines and added an electric fuel pump for good measure(still have good mechanical pump). Clutch and gearbox shift perfectly. Brakes grabby but I have new wheel cylinders for rear. Wire rims and tires are great, although I don't know age of tires. I once heard a guy describe his paint job as being done with a bucket of paint and a mop...this paint job fits in that category. Unless you want car to be kind of a rat rod, it will need new paint. Original color was red. There is some bondo on body, but it seems to be for small dent repair, not rust. Car needs all new rubber at windows,etc. A lot of extra parts come with car: an extra transmission, a set of 4 hubs to replace wire wheels if you want to use minalite rims or any standard rims and a box of distributors, etc. As for the history of the car. According to the serial number it was bought in England and brought to states by private individual. The car has a clear Virginia title and it looks to be a replacement id plate on car. It was purchased last year from an estate of an elderly gentleman that had it in his garage and tinkered with it for 30 years. This car can easily become a very cool weekend driver or a proper restoration. Don't pass this up for a rust bucket. Am selling this due to age and too many projects. Sold as is, where is. 1963 Daimler SP250. 4 speed manual. Original motor, trans, rear; the rest is mostly original. Most of you looking know the Daimler SP250 stats, history facts, & usuals. This car has had much done to it as can be seen in pictures. The last owner had it for about ten years (rarely used; sitting in his Minnisota property storage garage with his other collectibles). He lives in N.Y. full time. This is one of the "improved" models that Jaguar re-inforced (B & C series had their frames beefed up/strengthened starting in 1960 when Jaguar bought out Daimler). Dealers & owners changed various things to their liking in the period when these were new, or fairly new (bumpers, or no bumpers; whiskers; lights, & so on). It will need further tweaking due to the inoperative period in storage. All in all, partially amateur & professional restoration with a final driver friendly result. NEW items in the period of restore/revamps: water & fuel pumps; four wheel disk brakes & new suspension parts; interior (sealer paint & insulation [shown] installed under carpet); a new top (but got ripped upon install, now has a 6" repair patch at the bottom driver's side); paint (no fractures, cracks, or peeling); tires; chromes/emblems; etcetera (to many to list). New glass. Motor: Heads & valves were completely redone with valve seals installed-ported/polished (S250's did not originally have seals which would cause some oils smoke; the upgraded/modernized valve seals alleviates it). The small "rubber" top hoses were nicely done away with by custom *copper soldered* pipes. Cleaner & less leaking (can easily be replaced back to original rubber hoses). A new clutch, pressure plate & throw out bearing was installed before the motor was reinstalled. The frame was in excellent condition when the previous owner took the body off. He prepped, painted, & remounted the body with new required parts. The Hood closes flush (slightly open in picture). Doors/fenders, etcetera have good allignments & close as desired. Definitely needs emergency brake parts (note emergency brake handle is not installed & I do not have it). The left rear brake is locking up. I have a replacement kit to rebuild the wheel cylinder AND am leaving the emergency brake handle/sticky brake for the next owner to do. A Mr. John Carey supplies parts (& has the emergency brake handle/parts) & Daimler SP250 much knowledge he use to restore them); [email protected] Car comes with a parts supply resource CD; a Daimler SP250 illustrated hardcover details & history book(1 inch thick; sells for about $70 on Ebay) & a trunk full of parts. The car is finished as in the first 8 pictures. The remaining pictures was its restore/revamp process documentation. Email for questions & phone number.
