I bought this car with the intensions on doing a restoration on it, but due to the sudden interest in untouched barn fresh cars I have decided since it is not exactly the car I want for myself and am not personally into the unrestored car craze, I would offer it for sale for someone who is. This is a rare 1931 franklin series 15 (153 chassis) with a raymond dietrich design body built through walker of mass as the coachbuilder where dietrich was last employed and worked from until the depression caused franklin and dietrich to go separate directions. This example belonged to a late friend of mine who had a large classic car collection and has not seen the road in over 50 years, it has had some mechanical work done to it by him, the dealer I bought it through and myself and are as follows. Rebuilt fuel pump, rebuilt starter, rebuilt generator, new starter switch and ignition switch, new coil, fuel tank and carb cleaned, some under dash wiring was replaced, the brakes were rebuilt years ago but the master cylinder is leaking again but the brakes do work and has newer rubber lines installed on them, new exhaust and the battery is newer as well. The franklin runs well and has its original 100hp air cooled aviation inspired inline 6. The transmission is what I am guessing was the original reason the car may have been parked so long as when I got it I needed to repair the shift fork for reverse as well as rebuild the shifter box because of wear, both of which currently work well now. Im not going to go into extreme detail talking about its overall condition as if you are serious PLEASE CONTACT ME and we will discuss the car in detail, but to some it up the undercarriage and frame are nice, driveline is complete and in running condition, body is good, front doors have rust down low and im sure some wood is damaged as well, rears are a little better neither are horrible, fenders are badly beat up with the exception of 1 rear, interior is complete but in disrepair, car does have the rare bosch radio option, trunk is nice, luggage rack is bent and some broken glass.
