In fact, this 1928 Auburn 8-88 Sport Sedan is your instant ticket to premium cars shows, where they'll park you next to its corporate brothers from Cord and Duesenberg. So this sedan already seems like a tantalizing proposition, even before you read how exceptional the condition is. The two tone coordinating colors of tan and brown give this one an instant regal appearance. The Auburn is unique, standing out with its horseshoe-shaped grille and stand-alone headlights, along with the split, crank out windshield, that gives it a distinctive look. Finish quality is exemplary, with doors that close with the most wonderfully solid sound, and the folding hood opens with ease and latches without a fight. Paint quality was most certainly not this good in 1928, but for a car designed to be noticeably premium, this one fits the bill perfectly. Chrome was used sparingly to show that the confidence of good design only needs small highlights on the grille, headlight shells, and door handles. The brown cloth interior has a great pattern that seems to represent the Roaring Twenties perfectly on the pleated seats. The whole interior is beautifully finished with clean stitching, and correct windlace around the doors. The handles and knobs look like jewelry, and the panels have gorgeous wood garnish moldings. Lovers of real wood should pay special attention to the dash, as it is a work of art. Overall, it's hard to find a piece that has been replaced (or needs replacing) in the nearly 90 years since this luxury car first left the factory. Luxury is often measured in rear seat space, and there's about enough legroom back there to make modern limousines jealous. It's handsomely finished, with delicate ashtray covers, ornate assist straps, and a robe rail behind the front seat. The Lycoming-built, 247 cubic-inch straight-8 engine makes a rather robust 88 horsepower. But the real key to this motor was the torque, which is why it was also the basis for the legendary Auburn Boat Tail Speedster that were some of the fastest cars of the day. It's the original motor with the car, and this powerplant is still connected to its original three-speed manual transmission. It will require a little double clutching (if you like 1920s cars, you're likely already a pro). This total package of high torque, and wide ratio gearbox, is happy to pull the big sedan around at barely more than a walking speed in high gear. Four-wheel mechanical brakes by Lockheed are quite effective for the period, and the single exhaust has a powerful-sounding eight-cylinder hum. The chassis is nicely detailed, and those glossy wooden spoke wheels are fitted with flashy Firestone tall white tires. This Auburn is just about ready to leave our showroom and head straight to concours events. The shockingly affordable price for this rare luxury just made this even more of an exquisite find. After all, when was the last time you saw a 1922 REO T6B seven-passenger touring car? Ever? And just look at how complete, pristine, and ready to roll it is! You know Ransom E. Olds in one way or another. He was a brilliant engineer who can be named in the same breath as Henry Ford for bringing good quality cars to the masses. While many have driven an Oldsmobile, only a select few get to own a vehicle from his other venture, REO. This seven-passenger open touring car really shows off the best of the 1920s wood wheels, big headlights, and winged thermometer radiator cap. There's even a nice custom touch with the intricate custom bumper design. It's got that classic silhouette, but carries an interesting name on the front that faded long ago. This one is particularly striking because of the red paint that comes from a recent high end restoration. But this car goes beyond just an expensive professional respray. Most cars from this era have black fenders, but this one just looks much bolder with the bright red color shimmering over more of its sheetmetal. Inside is the kind of cleanliness that can only come from a quality restoration. Not only are the gray leather seats superbly comfortable, but they also have nice red piping that match the exterior paint. This same motif is repeated on the door panels for that added luxury touch. The folding roof even carries the same gray color. By now you've probably noticed the folding jump seats in the rear. That brings the total seating to seven comfortably, which makes this the perfect vehicle for everything from parade routes to something memorable for multiple family generations to ride in around town. Take one look underneath this car, and you can really see just how far the restoration went. The entire drivetrain appears like it's 1922, and fresh from the Lancing, Michigan factory. But more than just a colorful and compete engine bay, this REO is a true runner. You can advance the timing from behind the wood wheel, and once you're really rolling the torque advantages of REO's 239 cubic-inch T6 inline-six cylinder engine really begin to be felt. This is especially true thanks to the freedom of the floor-mounted three-speed manual transmission, and low gear ratio for plenty of get-up-and-go at low speeds. Here's a fun classic that is possibly the cleanest 90+ year-old you'll ever see. It's a turnkey old-time car, that can carry everyone for the price of an Oldsmobile, but with a much cooler story. [email protected] 5527 Lakeview Road, Charlotte, NC, 28269, US 1946 Hudson Commodore Frame Up Restored Commodore 350 V8 TH350 with PS PB A/C Power Disc Year: 1946 Type of vehicle title: Clear Primary color: White Mileage: 11760 Transmission type: 3 Speed Automatic Engine: 350 V8 Interior color: Tan Vehicle Info The Hudson Motor Company formed on the idea of making the American motor car affordable to the general public. The company's strategy to compete in the car market was to build a car for less than $1,000. The public's response was to buy over 4,000 cars in the first year. It might not sound like a lot but the 4,508 units sold was the best first year production in the history of the automobile industry, a major accomplishment for the newly formed small company. The Hudson Commodore was introduced in 1941 to moderate success. Following the attacks on Pearl Harbor, the United States entered World War II and production stopped in the Hudson plants to assist in war production. Following the end of the war, Hudson resumed production of Commodores like this in 1946. However, today this Hudson Commodore sits a lot different than when it left the factory in '46. The beneficiary of a complete 8-year resto-mod restoration, it's a very capable cruiser thanks to a legendary Chevy power plant and a ton of upgrades. Sure this '46 had a grand beginning, however at some point someone parked it in the Mississippi swamp and left it to rot, thankfully the previous owners saw the potential of this Commodore and started an 8 year restoration to its current condition. It starts at the front of the body where a chrome body-width front bumper hangs below a massive chrome grille that sits between two large round headlights. Up front you'll find little hood lights that illuminate when the lights are turned on. As you make your way down the body you'll pass the Hudson chrome emblems that sit just before the start of the front doors. The two strips of chrome trim that passes over the length of the car, including the suicide rear doors, is separated by a small strip of tan paint that accents the cream body and chrome trim very nicely. At the rear of the car a chrome rear bumper hangs just below the spacious rear trunk that is flanked on either side by the rear taillights. Tilt the hood forward on this '46 Hudson and you'll see that gone is the original six cylinder, and in its place is the near bulletproof 350ci Chevy V8. The engine has a vintage look thanks to an Offenhauser intake manifold and Hudson stamped valve covers. At the top of the engine, a small air filter rests on an Edelbrock 4-barrell carburetor that shoves the air fuel mixture into the aforementioned Offenhauser intake. Spark arrives in the cylinder via Accell super stock spiral core wires that are fed by an Accel HEI supercoil distributor. The amazing Commodore carries two batteries so you can show off all the amazing features at a local car show without having to worry about whether or not it will crank after the show. The dual-battery setup is controlled by a panel on the passenger side of the engine bay. In front of the engine is a BeCool radiator that ensures this Hudson can take on any long trip without having to worry about overheating. At the front of the undercarriage you'll find the familiar Chevy orange of the 350 shining bright. Bolted to the 350ci V8 is a durable 350 turbo 3-speed automatic transmission that sends power to 3.0 gears. As far as suspension goes, the front suspension utilizes a double a-arm style suspension while at the rear a typical leaf spring setup provides a decent ride. Stopping power has been increased thanks to a front disc brake upgrade, while on the rear you'll find drum brakes. In front of those brakes you'll find chrome 80-spoke wire wheels with the original Hudson hubcaps. Up to this point the restoration has been pretty incredible, but the interior might be the real winner of this build. Open the doors to this Commodore and you'll find a blend of modern convenience with styling of yester-year. Between the doors, you'll find a tasteful and luxurious interior that kicks off with classy, tufted seats. Front and center, a stylish dash frames rebuilt gauges above a factory radio and hidden CD player. In front of the driver, a vintage steering wheel spins a wide-diameter rim around a chrome horn ring. Throughout, there is small touches that catch everyone's eye. For instance, the power windows are controlled by pushing the original window handles forward or backward. You'll also find power steering, two speed electric wipers, and custom black walnut garnish moldings. The sale of this incredible Hudson resto-mod includes a ton of documentation as well. The purchase includes a book by J.C. Long about the Hudson history, a booklet of restoration photos, two issues of Mike Kelly's Cruise News where the Hudson is featured in it, an appraisal from Barry Sterneck, a ton of receipts, instruction manuals, Hudson mechanical procedure manual, Commodore owner's manual, and an original certificate of 60 shares of the Hudson motor company. When it comes to maximizing the amount of car your money buys, you can't go wrong with a purpose-built Hudson resto-mod. Thanks to its thorough restoration, this awesome Hudson is a great driving piece that's fun, historic AND reliable. Like all Morgan it was built for British weather. It ran hot in the heat of the Southern summers. To make it run at correct temps. I replaced the radiator from copper to high efficiency aluminum, installed larger, faster electrical fans which activate from water temp. An American made for the plus 8 ram air system which scoops additional air from the front below the radiator & directs forced air over the radiator & through the engine compartment. This system is efficiently enough to run in traffic or cruising down the freeway. It also has the effect of cooling the engine compartment & transmission tunnel, a common problem with Morgans causing a lot of heat inside the car. I am the third or fourth owner & the car has just over 14000 miles. Other than the dash cracks in the varnish the car is perfect. It runs well & is as reliable as Lord Lucas allows. The Oil pressure gauge went bad & I replaced it with the closest I could find in USA. Colors are the same but rim is a little beefier. The correct OEM part can be ordered out of the UK but they are very proud of them. I intended to change all the gauges out but never got round to it. It seems that the Morgan dashboards are often replaced especially in rebuild processes. They are flat walnut. Dials added & replaced. I have seen Russian mig jet clocks put in the dash. Kool stuff. By the way, true to British form, the clock in the cluster is absolutely accurate. I have added fresh air induction from outside the engine compartment into the air filter box for more efficient engine performance & replace the rubber tubing feeding air to the fuel injection from the air filter with chrome pipeing. I don't know that it does any better but it looks much slicker. Wheels are OEM chrome wires with knock on spinners & original lead hammer on board. Brakes have been relined lately, not that they were worn out, just old. Tires are good, they didn't wear out, they perished with age. I wanted a Morgan since I was a kid growing up in UK. Now I have had one & enjoyed it. I have had it I think since 06 & put 2500 miles on it. It has never been in the rain or wrecked. I replace the CPU about two years ago. It was so humid that summer damp got into the unit & shorted it. Fuel injection & electronics on the car are built by Bosch. Land rover parts can be used to replace many Morgan parts. Car has always been kept inside a garage Any questions please message me through EBay. I will be happy to answer.

[email protected] 5527 Lakeview Road, Charlotte, NC, 28269, US 1946 Hudson Commodore Frame Up Restored Commodore 350 V8 TH350 with PS & A/C Year: 1946 Type of vehicle title: Clear Primary color: Tan Mileage: 11760 Transmission type: 3 Speed Automatic Engine: 350 V8 Interior color: Tan Vehicle info The Hudson Motor Company formed on the idea of making the American motor car affordable to the general public. And if you're looking for a stylish classic that commands respect on both the boulevard and the show field, it's just your style! Don't miss your chance to own this one-of-a-kind Commodore.
