This is a matching numbers bike, original frame and engine!! Original D.I.D. rims are very straight and true as are the spokes. Frames is straight and true and nothing is broken or bent. Front and rear suspension have good damping and the bike rides well. 1980 Kawasaki KX420 big bore 2 stroke Motocross bike that is one cool bike. It is a vintage bike that can be ridden in the AHRMA and is a running bike that everything works on at this time. . I have not checked compression but it feels very strong. Brakes work well. Air-cooled. 5 speed. I can't provide any warranties as this is a racing motorcycle. These never came with titles. I will provide you with a Bill of Sale. I was going to race this bike in the vintage class but have decided to go in a different direction with my racing so I am selling the bike. I bought the bike with the intentions of going through it front to back and prep it to race. I kicked it over twice and it fired right up so I rode the bike up and down my street until my neighbor came out and yelled at me. "You're too old for that stuff", she said. I said, "never too old!" Anyways, the bike had good suspension feel, with good damping and the engine felt strong and it shifted fine. I didn't notice anything wrong but that said, this is a RACING MOTORCYCLE AND I WILL NOT GUARANTEE ANYTHING, PERIOD. . So, do not expect to just buy it and go race it, ok? It is a racing machine and only for an Expert. I am 66 and raced for many years on CR500's and KX500's so I know how to ride these monsters. But a Novice needs to BEWARE. You can HURT YOURSELF on one of these, trust me. The pipe is good and solid. The bike has the original motor, original D.I.D. rims and the original frame, spokes, etc... Rims are good and straight. No missing spokes.I think I would do a new chain and sprockets, new tires and change fork oil, and tune it up before I ever raced it. It has a CD Ignition. You are looking at a very very nice all original 1973 Yamaha MX360. From my collection, this bike starts and runs very nicely and has not every been raced or abused. It is totally original right down to the original silencer on the exhaust. The pipe has no dents, no holes. The gas tank is as nice as you'll ever see inside with no rust. The bike even still has its' original rubber brake and clutch boots. Brakes, shifting, riding and handling are as they should be. This is an original bike from my collection that I am selling because I need to thin the herd as they say. Rare bike indeed and worthy of your interest. Here is a very rare original vintage 1975 Kawasaki KX400. This bike has been here in Michigan since day 1 and is a 1 owner bike. AND, I have the actual original paperwork from the day it was sold here in Michigan!!! I also have the original shop manual AND, receipts for the little items that have been done over the years. The bike has had a set of new rings installed. I also have a silencer for the pipe that goes with the bike. Only ridden gently on the trails, you will find that this one is a bike that has never been raced or abused in any way. The engine is crisp and sound and the bike starts, runs and rides exceptional. It shifts nicely and the clutch is strong and the brakes are excellent. The bike is ready to be ridden in AHRMA or kept in a museum it is that nice. I would put this bike up against any other KX400 in existence today that is an original bike. There are no leaks or problems. The gas tank is just like new inside. 1975 Kawasaki KX400 Motocross bike. Frame: K5 - 904885 Engine: K5E - 904928 Original frame and motor. Very nice running motorcycle. Starts and runs great. Very strong motor. Shifts great. Rides and handles great. This is an opportunity for you to purchase a rare Kawasaki KX that is a 1 owner bike. It has never been raced, never abused and ridden only in the woods and on the Michigan trails. I have the actual original Bill of Sale from the Dealer from 1975, the original Michigan Registration from 1975 and the original KX400 Shop Manual that all go with this bike to the winning bidder. Please see these items in the pictures. You are buying a piece of Motocross history here. Original D.I.D. rims, original spokes, original Mikuni carb, original everything. The KX400 was a dominant bike in the Open Class back in the day. Very lightweight for an Open bike. It would also make a great bike for a museum, or, to run in the AHRMA, although the bike is so nice, I don't know if I would want to race it. All components are original except the rear fender which is is an aftermarket. I now have the original front fender on the bike. You can have the aftermarket one if you wish. I also have a new correct front brake lever for the bike.
