Up for sale is my KTM 500. It is in great condition and is ready to ride. Appx 2,200 miles. Street legal dirt bike that has been well maintained and ridden on 2-tracks and single tracks. Plated it to be legal to ride the dirt roads by our house. Only selling in order to by a new KTM 300. I may entertain a trade if your 300 has very low hours and is in great condition. However, I will likely by a new one. I would prefer to keep the hand guards and cyclops light that are on the bike (both negotiable but not included in the auction) This incredible 500 runs, idles, and rides great. Needs nothing. The left side radiator was damaged when the bike was new, but operates just fine so it was never replaced. The plastic and the wrap are in good shape. There are a couple scratches in the plastic from woods riding, but nothing major. Again, this has been a great bike and is a perfect dual sport bike with loads of power and torque. Oil and filters just changed. She is ready to go and bring many smiles to its new owner!! Thanks for looking and contact me with any questions. I think She is a Bargain & is a Nice Example of a SUPER LOW HOUR Very Presentable 1970 DT-1 (That is really the last of the TRUE Original Series DT-1's) that was Just cosmetically Etc Restored ! ! ! A nice example of a 1968-1970 DT-1 like this NADA.com Value Guides for nearly $7,000.00 ( $6,700.00 to be exact ! ! !) > & Best of All this Beauty has SO Little Use on Her "ONLY~4758 Miles" as she has been in Dry Covered storage for ~FOUR DECADEs...We Inspected her engine & just had her Transmission Rebuilt Jan 2017 & "YES"...She RUNS GREAT ! >>> > > * * "INCLUDED FREE TO THE NEW OWNER": I will be including along with the bike "TWO BRAND NEW" DUNLAP STYLE reissue "High Quality STREET RATED TIRES" (That Look ~Just like the Tires that came NEW from YAMAHA with this Bike back in 1970) by Shinko 1) a"400X18 Rear Tire" & 2) a "350 X 19 Front Tire" & "TWO BRAND NEW TUBES" ! I will be including these...."FREE TO THE NEW OWNER" of this WONDERFUL BIKE ! ! * * * PLEASE NOTE: This Wonderful "1970" 250cc YAMAHA DT1 ENDURO.That still has the Majority of the Original DT-1 Main Components as listed here...& as you can see ..we disassembled cleaned painted & or restored the following details ...Her Original 1970 Gas Tank has "Brand New Custom YAMAHA Style "Candy Apple RED" style paint" with YAMAHA Re-issue Beautiful "Chrome/Black" YAMAHA Gas Tank Badges + & also her Brand new CANDY APPLE RED Oil Tank style Custom Paint, Striping & YAMAHA ENDURO Graphics" & Early style Muffler Chrome heat guard , & Her seat was Rebuilt from the Frame Up..Early style Custom Made Pleated style Seat that was Rebuilt From the FRAME UP ! etc etc...Therefore, I think .."She is the Very Best of All Worlds" ...As you can see being a 1970 She has the very last year of the "Original Series Style 1968 thru 1970 YAMAHA (ORIGINAL style) Original Early style Rectangular tubing swing arm (not the 1971 to present round tube swing arm style) & also.. She also has the Original Style 1968 thru 1970 Early (ORIGINAL) style steel lower Fork Legs (& Not the 1971 & newer thicker chunkier style fork legs)...Therefore, to my eyes & most other motorcycle Enthusiasts (unless you are some kind of a concourse nit picker or something) ...Most anyone Would Be very Proud to Own this Great Running fairly Original "FIRST" Series 250 YAMAHA DT-1 ENDURO ) ! ! ! ! ...( Think about it ...."When was the last time you or most anyone else have actually saw a real deal 1970 YAMAHA 250 ENDURO running & Looking This GREAT...right in front of you" ? So YES ! ! I Think that She is Nothing Short of AMAZING ! ....I consider the 1970 DT-1 to be the very last year that really looks like the Original Series 1968-1970 Style Looks & YES ! being a 1970 She ..YES! She Has an ORIGINAL YAMAHA's First Generation DT-1 "FAR MORE COLLECTABLE" FIRST GENERATION "Original Piston Port" induction Style Engine "Which I have been told over the years is "FAR More VINTAGE "AHRMA" RACE-ABLE" ! ! ! ! The NADA Value Guide Price of a 1970 is exactly the same as a 1968, 1969 & 1970 .....But, unfortunately in 1972 & newer Enduros the price of the Non original series Yamaha (72 Up ENDUROs) Drops a Lot !!!!!! * * * PLEASE NOTE &* IMPORTANT PLEASE READ THIS (& also the Entire Auction) BEFORE Bidding on this Wonderful Classic Bike: This Wonderful 1970 250 YAMAHA DT1 ENDURO We Cosmetically restored the Wonderful Low Miles (~4758 miles 1970 YAMAHA DT-1 Also Please Note: I have been running her for several days up & down my street & YES! She RUNS GREAT I had her transmission was Just rebuilt (January 2017) & we just got her back & she is AMAZING !....This Beauty has been in dry Storage for approx. 40+ years .. However.. again, Everything I LOVE Everything about the wonderful bike..She RUNS & Shifts + Stops GREAT ! (as detailed above & below) as YES! She RUNS AMAZING (IE) Typically, "She typically Starts First Kick nearly Every Time" ! ! ! ! With Her Newly January 2017 rebuilt Transmission She Runs & Shifts GREAT & Her Clutch brakes etc Works GREAT" IN THEIR OPERATION" As Well! ! ! I started this Wonderful Classic on ebay at just under $3,500.00 She is now at just 3K a SUPER "NO BRAINER" Price at under 3K Which I think is a Bargain as a Nice Example of a SUPER LOW HOUR Just cosmetically restored 1968-1970 DT-1 like this NADA Value Guides for nearly $7,000.00 ( $6,700.00 to be exact ! ! !) >> This AMAZING Bike has "ALWAYS BEEN A SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA Bike" !!! Which to collectors makes Her FAR More Desirable & Collectable (as we get almost no rain here at all, for the last decades on average Typically we only Only about 2 to 3 inches of rain a year ...& in our very moderate area & Most of the time not even that much) & the Temperatures are most of the time are also a Museum like 65 - 75 degrees the Majority of the year ! ! (As Los Angeles Area was Originally Considered a Semi Arid Dessert (Most all of the plants you see here have been imported in to this area !!!) ......Again, These Wonderful DT-1's are Famous for: Always being a High Quality, Super Simple & Inexpensive + Super Easy To Maintain, Durable , RELIABLE + EASY TO RIDE , FUN, Go Most Any Where Bike ...for families Around the World !!! PLEASE NOTE a Nice Example of one of these Original Generation 1968-70 YAMAHA DT-1 ENDURO's NADA.com value Guides for Nearly $7,000.00 ("to be Exact ...$6,700.00" ! ! ! ! !) & Best of all ..The Values of these have been going up "A LOT" in Recent Years ! ! ! ! So She is a True "No Brain-er Deal" for what I have her listed for Especially when you consider She has had a FACTORY YAMAHA ~1970 Warranty Replacement Engine (this can be easily proven by her engines serial # omission (IE) is factory blank) She Runs like it is 1970 again ! ! & She has "TONS" of Compression & ...YES ! !..She Starts & Runs GREAT ! Also ...Think about how little use is on this Beauties Chassis ONLY 4758 miles & how long (~40) years she has been in Dry Covered storage ! ! ! ! ! ! & also Think About it...Where can you find another 1968-70 DT-1 Like this ...these days ...nearly "HALF A CENTURY LATTER" ..in nearly 2017 !!!! !!!!!!!! "My Mechanic thinks she still has Her Original YAMAHA Mounted in 1970 Dunlap Trails Universal style Front Tire" ! The DT-1 YAMAHA 250 ENDURO is WORLD KNOWN for their RELIABILITY, DURABILITY, & Easy Simple Maintenance...She is definitely one of the All Time Worlds Best & Favorite Classic Vintage Japanese ENDURO's In Fact YAMAHA Started & I feel Perfected the "High Quality Japanese ENDURO" for the Worlds PLEASURE !!!! These DT-1's are famous for: Always being a EASY to RIDE, SUPER FUN, Go Most Anywhere Bike ...for families ALL Around the World !!! When these bikes were made ,There was "No Other ENDURO Bike on EARTH that were..As LOVED and were as POPULAR as the Original Series YAMAHA 250 DT-1 ENDURO" when they arrived on the scene ! ! ! Her Odometer Shows Only ~4758 miles !!! & She was Last registered JANUARY 1973 ! ! ! (which means the last tags were paid for in January 1972) & Best of All Very Early in her life ~1970-71 she has a "FACTORY YAMAHA REPLACEMENT ENGINE" ! ! ! ! As detailed in the Last & next paragraph... This Beauty has been in Covered DRY Storage for Many Years (( She was in Covered storage for the past FOUR DECADE's)) & according to her Original owners family she has a fairly LOW HOUR Engine (& some time shortly after this bike was New...(IE) The Original Owners family said that a dealer had installed a Brand NEW Factory YAMAHA Replacement (Warranty replacement??) ENGINE) installed just a little prior to when the Original Owners health deteriorated & the bike was placed into storage ..(The 1970 Brand new Engine replacement can Be Proven because typically these YAMAHA Replacement engines numbers have not been stamped yet).. For the last several Months we Did her Cosmetic Restoration.. My Mechanic & I disassembled Her thoroughly Inspected Her Engines Top End Her, Piston and Rings Crankshaft & Rod Bearing, Clutch, Gaskets Carburetor etc etc etc etc etc & She has Very low hours on Her Engine > I was told her engine was replaced just a few hours of use before she was Placed in storage ~40 years ago) >...& YES! She RUNS GREAT & Has TONS of Compression & Starts Typically Super Quick & EASY ...& YES ! She Runs GREAT !!!! & she shifts PERFECTLY through her gears 1st, N 2nd, 3rd, & 4th & 5th gear ! ! ! Both Her Engine and Transmission operates PERFECTLY ! ! ! (I just had it Rebuilt January 2017 by my Very best Vintage YAMAHA mechanic & as you can see her Rolling Chassis has just had a FRESH BRAND NEW & Very Nice Cosmetic Restoration (As detailed above & below) & is just returning to service again & She Starts Well & is "Running Great" I personally think the more you run her the Better she will run ! Her seat was REBUILT FROM THE FRAME UP ! Custom Made Pleated more With High Quality materials Early style seat etc etc...Therefore She is the Very Best of All Worlds ...Early Style Looks & With a SUPER LOW HOUR YAMAHA's ENGINE & Chassis ..& YES ! SHE IS THE FAR MORE COLLECTABLE ORIGINAL style FIRST GENERATION Piston Port Style Engine which I have been told over the years is "FAR More VINTAGE RACE-ABLE" ! ! ! ! PLEASE NOTE: Over The last FIVE Years I have had FIFTEEN of my Bikes in the "Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Clubs" Booth in "The Largest Motorcycle Show on Earth" ...The Los Angeles Progressive (Cycle World) Motorcycle Show (Please see included below)....Also, if you go to the EURODIRT.com Website & if you look at their pictures of their YAMAHA reissue Gas Tank Emblems You will see one of my collections Vintage YAMAHA ENDURO Bike that is painted in my last Enduro auctions Bikes "EXACT" .."Candy Pearl" Tangerine Color ..Also, Previously We have had up to SEVEN Bikes a year in the El Camino Vintage Bike Show which has been considered... "The Largest outdoor Vintage Bike Show on the West Coast"..So YES ! ...My bikes do get around. > > We are just now completing Her Cosmetic Restoration & The Original Owner Received a ORIGINAL ~1970 FACTORY YAMAHA REPLACEMENT ENGINE just prior to putting her in storage Aprox 40 years ago (last tags were January 1973) (IE) according to the Orig. Owners family..Many years ago She has had a Factory YAMAHA Replacement ENGINE & in the last several months during her Cosmetic restoration we disassembled + Cleaned + inspected her Wonderful Engines entire top end=Piston+Rings+ Crankshaft+cylinder+Head+Carburetor+All Clutch Plates & in Dec 2016 & Jan. 2017 we had her Transmission Rebuilt By My Best YAMAHA Mechanic (I drove ~80 miles each way to get Her engine/trans to Him!!) etc etc ...& YES! SHE RUNS GREAT.& has "HUGE" Compression ! ! ! She was at one time re-purposed as a off road bike, She looks to still have All of her lights & majority of her Tachometer & Speedometer Engine Generator & Main Engine Wire Loom (that goes from the engine up toward under the Fuel tank, She also has her Brake Light Stop Switch complete with Her Stop light switch Activating Spring etc & the two stop light switches Electrical plug-in leads etc all look Present & look to be in Good Condition, again, I have not had time to try & electrically reconnect the head & taillight etc .Again, lights etc are not electrically connected & therefore, are not operational at this time...Again, I have not tried to electrically hook up any of Her Orig.Headlight & Tail Light,etc... they appear Present & look Very Nice but Will need to be re-electrically connected & therefore I do not believe they are functioning. I have not spent anytime,to get the light etc items work..As MANY of these Original Series "PISTON PORT" YAMAHA ENDURO's Are Purchased to Become VINTAGE RACING BIKES !!!! So again I have not spent any time to try and make them operational...However .I have a Brand New Battery in box that I will be giving the new Owner "FREE". This Wonderful Bike Starts Super Easy & Runs GREAT Her Clutch , Control cables & Brakes All work Great ! I had the Seat Professionally "Rebuilt from the Frame Up" and we Nearly completely dissembled this wonderful Bike & also Refinished most All of Her Main Components were cleaned, repainted and then my Mechanic and I re-assembled her "by hand" piece by piece. She has BOTH a Front Dunlap tread style Trials Universal Style re-issue Tires ! & a NICE PIRELLI Trials Universal Style re-issue Rear Tire ! & I will be including FREE to the Lucky New Owner Two Brand New Reissue Street legal tires & Tubes. Again, This Magnificent Beauty Starts Great + Runs Amazing & She Shifts & Stops Excellent etc etc + all of her Control cables Brakes Etc Etc all seem to work Great as Well. Her Prior owner used her very rarely and also re-purposed her for more off-road use but, as you can see I have re-installed all of her head & Tail lights etc again and if you want to run a battery I will be INCLUDING "FREE" a "BRAND NEW" battery in it's N.O.S. box for her... ! It looks like her Headlight & Taillights look to be present & look to be in fairly good Shape. If for some reason ..you want to go cow trail ridding on California etc Government National Forest Land etc land & feel you a may want a National Forest etc DMV "Green Sticker" Or if you want a current License plate sticker to be able to street legal ride this Wonderful Dual Purpose Beauty...My Vehicle Registration Office said that because this bike had been in covered storage for many years (Approx. the last 4 decades) therefore if you live here in California & feel for some reason you want or feel you need a California Forestry Land Green sticker (to ride in Government Forest etc land) Again ...it will be Easy because this bike is currently 100% off the DMV Computer books & therefore there will be NO back fees NO Back License fees, & NO BAck Taxes etc etc (Again, Typically here in Calif.. Again, after about 8 years DMV records fall off the DMV Computers) (This Wonderful Bike has been in Dry Storage for DECADES) and Again, this California National Forest sticker is not required or Current Calif License Tags are not usually required for MX & Other Race tracks and also NOT required for Vintage Bike & Classic Car Shows etc etc etc here in California & a California Nat. Forest Green sticker is not required if you live out of state etc etc etc)....& YES! ...she is all ready to transfer into your name ..In Calif. if you have current street tags you have to have ongoing Insurance on a Licensed so that is why most collectors allow their collection bikes to fall off the DMV Computers...& it is a Fairly Easy Process to get a vehicle back on the street again if that is what you want to do with her.... >* * * If these have not been done * Please Note *... You will be in default of this auction. & will naturally lose your deposit if the winning bidder flakes out & is not responsible on the funding of this AMAZING Vintage Racing Beauty .* * * ....Provided this is paid off (in required three (3) M-S days) I am willing to store the it for up to 2 weeks in my garage from close of auction while you arrange pickup & I will gladly assist you with shipping to any International or Domestic Shipper in the Los Angeles Harbor area.Seller reserves the right to the close of this auction at his discretion prior to the end of this auction . Like all real auctions all sales are final. Please do us both a Big Favor and Please do not bid on this item unless you are able to 100% Fund this at this time, unless prior arrangements have been made & Cleared by me (Prior to bidding on this item). Thank You, Good Luck and Happy Bidding ! Hi, Everyone...I Have had a lot of emails this morning asking me about Shipping Quotes...To get a Good & or Very Fair Deal on Shipping ..I would get as many Quotes as possible...Otherwise, you will pay Way Too Much...I would try Uship.com where shippers Competitively bid to get your Shipping business. To do this properly, Get as Many Competitive Rates as you can (so you will know when a fair rate presents it'self).......& also to protect yourself. YOU need to get the quotes yourself ...& Therefore...(IE) you will need to get your own quotes for shipping, I believe ebay my have a shipping service for vehicles... also, UShip.com is very competitive if you take your time & get plenty of shipping Bids for this ... * * About a year ago Someone bought my 1975 400 Yamaha Enduro (which Weights I think a little more than this Wonderful Bike) & the YAMAHA 400 Enduro cost about $ 325 to go from here (Los Angeles, Calif.) to North Carolina. & a 400 YAMAHA IT ENDURO to Florida went for under $ 300...PLEASE NOTE: My Home is a GREAT Place to get a Shipping Quote From !!! (IE) I live just ~5 Miles North of the Los Angeles (Long Beach) Harbor (LA IS THE LARGEST SHIPPING PORT IN THE WORLD") & ~8 Miles South of the Los Angeles "Commercial District".. so "EVERY DAY A Zillions ("MANY") Trucks".. Leave this area to go to the Entire rest of the Country ...(IE) all you need to do is find a truck that has a little extra space & Trust me their Rates will be FAR Better than someone that the is no where near this area & trip is not on their way & or Not Convenient for them or ??? . Therefore, the more Quotes you get the Better the Shipping Rate will be to your home (So "YES" get lots of Quotes). Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions..... P.S. be sure to tell Each Shipper that this is a fairly "LIGHT" weight bike (I believe, approx. 250 pounds) dual purpose bike and NOT a 700+ pound Harley etc. (TANK) or something (IE) Trust Me.."Mentioning that Fact will Save you a lot of Money") ...I live in Long Beach (Lakewood Village Country Club Subdivision), California Zip = 90808

I think She is a Bargain as a Nice Example of a SUPER LOW HOUR Very Presentable 1970 DT-1 (That is really the last of the TRUE Original Series DT-1's that was Just cosmetically restored ! ! ! a 1968-1971 DT-1 like this NADA Value Guides for nearly $7,000.00 ( $6,700.00 to be exact ! ! !) & Best of All this Beauty has SO Little Use on Her as she has been in storage for ~FOUR DECADEs...We Inspected her engine & just had her Transmission Rebuilt & "YES"...She Runs GREAT ! > > * * * PLEASE NOTE: This Wonderful "1970" 250cc YAMAHA DT1 ENDURO.That still has the Majority of the Original DT-1 Main Components as listed here...& as you can see ..we added in the following details ... (With Her Original 1970 Gas Tanks' "Brand New Custom Candy Apple RED style paint" with YAMAHA Re-issue Beautiful "RED" & Chrome YAMAHA Gas Tank Badges + Candy Oil Tank style "Custom Paint, Striping & YAMAHA ENDURO Graphics" & Early style Muffler Chrome heat guard , & Her Rebuilt from the Frame Up..Earlier style Custom Made Pleated style Seat etc etc...Therefore, I think .."She is the Very Best of All Worlds" ...As you can see being a 1970 She has the very last year of the "Original Series Style 1968 thru 1970 YAMAHA (ORIGINAL style) Early Rectangular tubing style swing arm (& not the 1971 to present round tube swing arm style) & also.. She also has the Original Style 1968 thru 1970 Early (ORIGINAL) style steel lower Fork Legs (& Not the 1971 & newer thicker chunkier style fork legs)...Therefore, to my eyes & most other motorcycle Enthusiasts (unless you are some kind of a concourse nit picker or something) ...I think, very few things would give this Wonderful Bike away (That she is not a Very First Year ..1968 Original "FIRST" Series 250 YAMAHA DT-1 ENDURO ) ! ! ! ! ...( Think about it ...."When was the last time you or most anyone else have actually saw a real deal 1970 YAMAHA 250 ENDURO running right in front of you" ? So yes ! I Think that is Nothing Short of Super Cool ! ....I consider the 1970 DT-1 to be the very last year that really looks like the Original Series 1968-1970 Style Looks & YES ! being a 1970 She ..YES! She Has an ORIGINAL YAMAHA's First Generation DT-1 "FAR MORE COLLECTABLE" FIRST GENERATION "Original Piston Port" Style Engine which I have been told over the years is "FAR More VINTAGE "AHRMA" RACE-ABLE" ! ! ! ! The NADA Value Guide Price of a 1979 is exactly the same as a 1968 1969 & 1970 But in 1972 the price drops a lot !!!!!! * * * PLEASE NOTE & IMPORTANT PLEASE READ THIS (& the Entire Auction) BEFORE Bidding on this Wonderful Classic Bike: This Wonderful 1970 250 YAMAHA DT1 ENDURO We Cosmetically restored the Wonderful Low Miles (4758 miles 1970 YAMAHA DT-1 Also Please Note: I have been running her for several days up & down my street & YES! She RUNS GREAT I had her trans rebuilt & we just got her back This Beauty has been in dry Storage for approx. 40 years ? However.. again, Everything I LOVE Everything about the wonderful bike engine RUNS & Shifts GREAT ! (as detailed above & below) as YES! She RUNS AMAZING (IE) Typically, "She Starts First Kick nearly Every Time" ! ! ! ! With Her Newly January 2017 rebuilt Transmission She Runs & Shifts GREAT & Her Clutch brakes etc works GREAT" IN THEIR OPERATION" As Well! ! ! I started this Wonderful Classic on ebay at just under $3,000.00 Which I think is a Bargain as a Nice Example of a SUPER LOW HOUR Just cosmetically restored 1968-1971 DT-1 like this NADA Value Guides for nearly $7,000.00 ( $6,700.00 to be exact ! ! !) & Best of All this Beauty has SO Little Use on Her as she has been in storage for ~FOUR DECADEs.. I need the space here ASAP & I therefore also need to cash out this Wonderful Bike ..as I am losing my Vintage Bike Storage next door & also ..& I could use the $ for some end of the year expenses. Therefore, I have Aggressively Discounting This MAGNIFICENT Classic I think she is nearly a Really Nice Great Running Classic Beauty) ...You should be able to "Make Out Like a Bandit" on this Legendary Classic ORIGINAL 1968-71 SERIES ("THE VERY BEST of ALL DT-1 ENDURO's") ! ! ! ! I Feel This is a Truly GREAT & Very Collectable Classic Original Series 250 DT-1 Vintage Bike ! ! ! & YES ! For Many Years.. These are Definitely Going Up in value ! ! ! This year alone I believe these have gone up about 10+ Percent ! ! ! as these are just getting harder & harder to find Nice Examples of !!!!!!!!!! >> This AMAZING Bike has "ALWAYS BEEN A SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA Bike" !!! Which to collectors makes Her FAR More Desirable & Collectable (as we get almost no rain here at all, for the last decades on average Typically we only Only about 2 to 3 inches of rain a year ...& in our very moderate area & Most of the time not even that much) & the Temperatures are most of the time are also a Museum like 65 - 75 the Majority of the year ! ! ......Again, These Wonderful DT-1's are Famous for: Always being a High Quality, Super Simple & Inexpensive + Super Easy To Maintain, Durable , RELIABLE + EASY TO RIDE , FUN, Go Most Any Where Bike ...for families Around the World !!! PLEASE NOTE a Nice Example of one of these Original Generation 1968-71 YAMAHA DT-1 ENDURO's NADA.com value Guides for Nearly $7,000.00 ("to be Exact ...$6,700.00" ! ! ! ! !) & Best of all ..The Values of these have been going up "A LOT" in Recent Years ! ! ! ! So She is a True "No Brain-er Deal" for what I have her listed for Especially when you consider She has had a FACTORY YAMAHA ~1970 Warranty Replacement Engine (this can be easily proven by her engines serial # omission) She Runs like it is 1970 again ! !!!!!!!! * * Lucky You.. can be the First New Owner Since this Bike has Just had a Beautiful Cosmetic Restoration ... This Beauty has been in Covered storage for Many Years (( She was in Covered storage for the past FOUR DECADE's)) & according to her prior owned she has a fairly LOW HOUR Engine (& some time shortly after this bike was New...(IE) She has had a Brand NEW Factory YAMAHA Replacement (Warranty replacement??) ENGINE) installed just prior to when the Original Owners health deteriorated & the bike was placed into storage ..(The 1970 Brand new Engine replacement can Be Proven because these YAMAHA Replacement engines numbers are YAMAHA Factory Blank).. (My Mechanic & I disassembled Her thoroughly Inspected Her Engines Top End Her Gaskets, Piston and Rings Crankshaft & Rod Bearing etc etc etc etc etc & She has Very low hours > I was told her engine was replaced just a few hours of use before she was Placed in storage ~40 years ago) >...& YES! 1980 Yamaha XT 500 very nice condition garage kept. I got it out of storage put the battery in it after a long winters nap and it started second kick and now it starts first kick. My son was in town and rode it to the lake and around town (300 miles) and said it runs excellent all the maintenance has been done. Oil change valves adjusted cam chain tightened. Last year I put new chain and sprockets front and rear, Carb kit, battery all the stuff it needed to be in top condition. Due to physical disability I will never ride again so the best thing to do is sell it to someone who will enjoy it and have fun. I live in Wyoming so if you need an excuse to visit this state this is it enjoy yourself. I would prefer local pickup because I like to give the option of a test ride if it is not what you expected or as described I will refund your money. I will ship the bike after receipt of payment but the buyer is in charge of all the shipping arrangements. I have a clear title and can be signed over the same day as purchase. This is a very nice bike no disappointments if you are looking for a very nice classic bike that runs excellent this is it. I have this bike for sale locally. the last couple years we have been asked to build TT500's into street legal bikes with turn signals, lighting and other funtions expected to be on a street bike. The cost was astonishing to do so, as the TT frames are not made for battery, relays and other items needed, so we started using the XT and making the TT look instead. This is basically a new bike, using the most popular TT the 1979. This bike has been used as our display model, it can be converted to the black and silver 1980 TT model or the 1981 white model if you desire, but there will be extra cost. This was built using as many new items as available, frame stripped and powder coated, new bearings, cables, signals, bolts, handle bars, fuel tank, wheels, rebuilt engine, tires, brakes and so fourth. Has a clean legal street title We will crate for over seas shipping or work with your arranged shipper. Keep in Mind the cost of ownership and Cost of Maintenance for a Vintage Two Stroke is a Very Small Fraction of what a four stroke would cost to own...These bikes are SUPER SIMPLE and nearly all of it's Normal maintenance can be done without any of the four strokes typical Specialized tools and the level Skill required is also FAR less...I have a HUGE Collection of Vintage Bikes and ALL are Air Cooled, Two Strokes...For Just that same Reason...Also, Parts are Very Available for these YAMAHA ENDUROs on ebay and Many other sites & Even the Dealers still sell Many of the the parts for these MAGNIFICENT CT-1 ENDURO's ! ! ! ! This bike has ALWAYS BEEN A SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA Bike !!! Which to collectors Makes Her FAR MORE Desirable & Collectable (as we up till this year typically get almost no rain here at all, (typically Only about 2 to 3 inches a year) ...& in our particular area Most of the time not even that much) & the Temperatures are most of the time a Museum like 65 - 75 the Majority of the year. ......Again,These CT-1 ENDURO's are famous for: Always being a High Quality, Super Simple To Maintain, Durable , RELIABLE + EASY TO RIDE , FUN, Go Most Any Where Bike ...for families Around the World !!! * * Lucky You.. can be the First New Owner Since this Bike has Just had a Beautiful Cosmetic Restoration ... This Wonderful Bike Starts Super Easy & Runs GREAT Her Clutch , Control cables & Brakes All work Great ! I had the Seat Professionally "Rebuilt from the Frame Up" and we dissembled this wonderful Bike "Piece by Piece" & also Refinished most All of Her Main Components and reassembled her "by hand" ..."Piece by Piece". She has BOTH Front and Rear almost "BRAND NEW" Dual Purpose Universal Style Tires ! Again, This Magnificent Beauty Starts Great + Runs Amazing & Shifts Excellent etc etc + all of her Control cables Brakes Etc Etc all seem to work Great as Well. Her Prior owner used her very rarely and after several years re-purposed her for more off-road use but, as you can see I re-installed all of her head lights etc again and I have a "BRAND NEW" (Still in her box) Electrical Battery for her as well ! It looks like her lights are all present & look to be in good Shape. But, We have Just rebuilt much of her Engine and have not spent time with the lights as She has to have the engine started to check out the lights with the Battery out (Brand New in a Box) therefore I have not spent any time to figure out if the lights are working or not etc. * * Please Note * * Very Recently (December 2015) this auctions bikes' cousins (IE) that were also built by us side by side to this auctions bike) the other Two of our bikes > a Vintage Racing 1978 RM 250 SUZUKI (Yellow) & also our 73 Tribute Vintage Racing ELSINORE CR 250 (Green / Aluminum) we Displayed at the "WORLDS LARGEST" MOTORCYCLE SHOW" (the Los Angeles Cycle World / Progressive Motorcycle Show, (Los Angeles, California Area)..in Our "Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Clubs" Booth earlier (December 6, 7 & 8th 2013). Look to the right of the 3rd pictures which shows a Local Los Angeles TV News Crew interviewing Our V.J.M.C. Clubs President (in the Red & White Shirt) on the Shows Opening day ! ! ! * * *PLEASE NOTE: Over the last three years we have shown "EIGHT" Vintage Motorcycles in the V.J.M.C. Booth At This Show Alone !!!! > PLEASE NOTE:Above the top two pictures & Also in the lower 4 Pictures are "NOT" of this auctions bike but are of this bikes 2 cousins (IE) (one =this auction's bikes cousin a 1978 RM 250 Brother) (IE) as above we also built these two other bikes we also built & cosmetically restored our other Vintage Racing: the (Yellow) 1978 SUZUKI RM 250's & the (Aluminum & Green) Vintage CR Elsinore 250 Vintage Race bike (Dec. 2014) we Displayed at the "WORLDS LARGEST" MOTORCYCLE SHOW" (the Cycle World / Progressive Motorcycle Show, (Los Angeles, California area)..in Our "Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Clubs" Booth earlier (December 2014). Also, The White & Black Suzuki Road Racer at the end of he row next to our VJMC clubs sign (3 bikes to the right of our yellow 250 RM Suzuki)... was one of two bikes of it's Exact type in Existence (a 700ccSquare 4 "Two Stroke" w/ 4 Rotary Valves..Yep ! She is a BREAST ! ) and I was told by most everyone there that she was Pretty much "Priceless" ! The two Bikes in between ours & this were two 4 Cylinder "Two Stroke" YAMAHA a GP 500 & a GP 700 like my Hero the GREAT Kenny Roberts became a WORLD CHAMPION on !!! PAPER WORK: Here is some More GREAT NEWS ! Since this Beauty has been in storage for many (~30 years) years (Last License tags were purchased in 1984) I have the DMV Computer Print Out on This Wonderful Bike that Proves... "She is 100% Free & 100% Clear of ANY and ALL back fees, 100% Free & 100% Clear of any and all back license registration fees & 100% Free & Clear of any and all back penalties & 100% Free & Clear on any and all back License fees etc etc" as she has been in storage so long (~30 years) that again therefore she currently is 100% off the DMV system at this time. I will Gladly Include this DMV Computer Print out that documents all this & Also Included with This Wonderful Bike...I will be including a California DMV (NOTARIZED) "Transfer of Ownership" (Notarized, Equiv. of a Bill of Sale) from myself to you the new owner.. which from what I hear in neighboring states, should be what you need to register it if you live outside of California. ... If you just want to Vintage Race this bike... the DMV "Transfer of Ownership"" is all you will need...Again, YES ! ..I will also include the California Department of Motor Vehicles Current DMV Computer Print Out on this Wonderful Bike that shows & Proves that because this Beauty was in Covered dry storage for the past ~THREE Decades & because of this... (after typically aprox. 7-8 years here in California) there are No current DMV Computer records (WHICH IS REALLY GOOD NEWS) on this Wonderful bike & therefore there will be NO back fees and NO back taxes etc etc. etc. owed on this Wonderful Dual Purpose 175cc YAMAHA ENDURO Dual Purpose bike & or Vintage Racing Bike. Again, I will be glad to provide a "California Department of Motor Vehicles" NOTARIZED "Transfer of Ownership" Bill of Sale from myself to the New Owner of this Wonderful Bike to the new owner. & also included will be the DMV's Computer system Print-Out that Proves this wonderful Bike is "FREE & CLEAR of Any and ALL" back fee's penalties etc etc etc.So YES ! She is FREE & CLEAR.. If you live inside California & If you race Vintage Bike Meets on Private Moto Cross Tracks or (Vintage Bike Shows etc) the Notarized Calif. DMV "Transfer of Ownership" is all you will need. Keep in mind if you would like to VINTAGE Moto-Cross Race Bike for use on Private Moto-Cross Race Courses etc etc) so normal DMV paperwork is a "moot point" (it is un necessary). To my eye ...I think She looks Great ! ...I have always been very Proud of this Particularly Beautiful YAMAHA 175 cc CT-1 ENDURO Vintage Bike ...& Even in 2017 She LOOKS GREAT & She still Starts Quick & Runs & Shifts & Stops ...GREAT ! ..as these YAMAHA 175 CT-1 ENDURO's are Super Easy Starting + Dependable & Very Reliable & DURABLE Bikes That unlike many other Vintage Bikes These Original Series YAMAHA ENDURO's Are a True "JOY to OWN" ! ..& Vintage Racing Enthusiasts & Everyone I have ever meet seem to be in Total agreement that .... "These YAMAHA 175cc CT-1 Bikes are GREAT & also many people use these for Vintage Racing ! & Quite Possibly These are without Question one of the Very Most FUN , DURABLE, RELIABLE & All Purpose Use-able Bikes I have ridden in the past FIVE decades Since the late 1950's !" ((...& in the late 1960's & 1970's I was a contributing "Technical Editor" for "CYCLE NEWS" Magazine (at that time it was the Largest Motorcycle Publication on EARTH ! ! !)) & I wrote "FOURTEEN" Four to Five Page Featured Technical Articals for "CYCLE NEWS" Magazine & I was also a Four+ Year Sponsored *750 Open Class* Mainly "TT" & some "Half Mile" Sponsored Racer for "BULTACO" Motorcycles (Most of the time on a 360 cc "El Bandito" Two Stroke !!!! ) in 1968 to 1974 So ...No One Loves a TRULY Great "Two Stroke" Dirt Bike like this YAMAHA 250 DT-1 ENDURO ...more than Me ! ....and again ........If you Pass Up this Wonderful Bike where will you ever find a YAMAHA 250 ENDURO with a fairly Low Hour Engine and also so little use & abuse on Her ! ????? ?????? These CT-1 YAMAHA ENDURO's were destined to be a Bike that I think most any rider could Have "BIG FUN" ridding all day long On ! ! ! ! Most everyone I have talked with agrees these First Edition 175cc YAMAHA CT-1s Like ALL YAMAHA ENDURO's have hands down Always been considered "The Worlds Most Popular as well as one of the Worlds BEST Production Dual Purpose ENDURO bikes ..& YAMAHA has Long Been known for their GREAT RELIABILITY + FUN EASY of Maintenance & also HANDLING, DURABILITY, SOLID "BULLET PROOF" Construction, AMAZING Performance , Durability + Trouble Free, Reliability. The Compared to many bikes with the Power & Displacement of this Wonderful Bike these YAMAHA 175cc CT-1 ENDURO's are considered by Experts to be one of the Easiest to own & Maintain + to get parts for & Best Constructed and Truly VINTAGE CLASSIC ENDURO bikes "EVER MADE" & I also think one of the Most Most Rider Friendly & "FUN" Bikes Made in this Era or any Era !!! & this beautifully Cosmetically Restored it YAMAHA 175cc CT-1 is BY FAR one of the Most Evolved & SUPER USE-ABLE Early Successful "HIGH QUALITY JAPANESE CLASSIC ENDURO Bikes ("in 1968-9 when these YAMAHA ENDURO's where first Issued..This Super Practical & FUN Bike was "ROCKET SCIENCE" that "Really Worked GREAT " ! ! ! ), Very Simple less hassle FAR More Reliable More Trouble Free + More Durable "Air Cooled Two Stroke Engine" (FAR Better & Far Lighter & Far less problems than the early Four Stroke dual sport bikes & FAR Better than the early water cooled YAMAHAs Etc ..I have heard) (this being one of the last years of these First ISSUE 1969-71 DT-1 ENDURO's she is the Perfect Bike Further Perfected being by YAMAHA (These SUPER SIMPLE Air Cooled Super FUN " Air Cooled TWO STROKEs" Unlike most other Vintage Bikes Are Typically always ready to have Fun With !!! ) . Again, Her Gas Tank has been Newly refinished & Painted as are Both her Front & Rear Fenders, also her rims, spokes, shocks, Wheel hubs & Backing plates etc etc have all also been refinished & or Painted and I think look very Nice. She has Two Dual Sport Quality Front and almost New Back Tires !!!... This was Owned by an older gentleman & his family for many years that figured out about several years ago that he was just a little too old for a Ride as Spirited as this AMAZING Beauty !!! * * About a year ago Someone bought my 1975 400 Yamaha Enduro (which Weights I think about 100 pounds more than this Wonderful Bike) & the YAMAHA 400 Enduro cost about $ 325 to go from here (Los Angeles, Calif.) to North Carolina. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Please email us. be sure to tell Each Shipper that this is a fairly "LIGHT" weight bike (I believe, a bit over 200 pounds) dual purpose bike and NOT a 700+ pound Harley etc. (TANK) or something (IE) Trust Me.."Mentioning that Fact will Save you a lot of Money") ...I live in Long Beach , Lakewood Village / Lakewood Country Club Area , California Zip = 90808
