This is the first of the swing arm frame models. This bike is in very nice tidy condition and looks good from every angle. This bike is fitted with the optional Wellworthy Alfin alloy cylinder barrel, which is a nice addition and looks great. This motorcycle is entered for sale under 'BSA' as there is no Velocette section and these great British motorcycles get lost in all the dross advertised in "Other Makes" amidst the others etc. The bike runs and rides well and is ready to go. Will help all I can with Safe Shipping. Utah title. From 1948 Velocette turned their attention to building the LE and discontinued the MSS, but a re-worked 500 returned in 1954 with all the mods cons of the time. The light-alloy engine now used square dimensions of 86mm bore and stroke, and featured hairpin valve springs and a bonded-in iron cylinder liner. Its output of just 25bhp sounds modest, but the MSS made the most of Velocette's excellent sprung frame which Cyril Ayton once described as 'virtually faultless'. Velocette's own telescopic front forks provided superb steering with fully-adjustable rear suspension provided by Woodhead-Monroe springs. Many a rider on a 650 parallel twin was startled to find a 500 single keeping pace on A-roads, and on twisting B-roads the MSS would have the measure of Turner's flexi-frames of the 1950s and early 60s. So Velo's MSS was an easy starting, tractable and good natured all-rounder which weighed in a 385lb, capable of cruising at 70mph with shorts bursts of speed up to a little over 80. The MSS looked smart, too, in gleaming black and gold, with its fishtail silencer and slightly stepped dual saddle. Although Velocette were never a mass manufacturer as such, the MSS stayed in production in this guise until 1971.

Nice original patina! 1971 RICKMAN METISSE WESLAKE 500cc BSA B44 Frame number: 1934 Engine number: 98246 As Tom White writes on motocrossactionmag.com: By the late 1950s, Englishmen Don and Derek Rickman had become world-class motocross riders, and with good design and fabrication skills, knew they could build something better. They soon introduced their Rickman Metisse (metisse is French for mongrel) chassis kit for British four-stroke engines. The Metisse pioneered such ideas as oil in the frame, fiberglass bodywork, narrow chassis width and nickel-plated Reynolds 530 tubing. The Rickman’s marketing plan was simple. The brothers would race the bikes on Sunday and sell them on Monday. After a winning weekend, the public would literally line up to buy the Rickman machines. Possibly the ultimate Rickman Metisse was the Mark IV Weslake BSA B44 powered machine. The BSA powerplant was small, originally starting out as a 250cc single-cylinder, but would prove both powerful and reliable, especially when the Weslake 500cc top-end was added. Top of the line chassis components like Ceriani forks and Girling shocks were used and lightweight Akront alloy rims completed the package. Rickmans weren’t just kit bikes. They were great bikes. The bike offered was found languishing in a private collection for many years. Properly stored in a dry environment with fluids drained it took very little to resurrect this rather special machine. The usual re-commissioning of brakes, suspension, carburetion and spark by a local marque expert was all it took. The engine has great compression, starts and runs easily. The bike is fast and handles well. The previous owner built the bike up to be a fun road-going machine with the addition of a rare Flanders headlight and a taillight, which has since been removed. It also sports a twin leading shoe front brake and a 19” wheel. The bike comes with a clean, clear California road title! This is a great opportunity to acquire a rare and fantastic icon of the dirt, in road-going trim!

1964 BSA Star Fire 250 , 1964 BSA C15 S Starfire Scrambler project. This is a rare find, its a genuine factory built 250 Starfire scrambler, not a home brewed C15 road bike conversion Its exactly as I got it. Good starter. It kicks over with strong compression and selects gears It looks to be in very original condition apart from the cut down mudguards and missing rear light and chainguard The carb slide moves on the twistgrip and the clutch and brakes operate The engine is stamped as a C15S It is in good condition, and will make a nice project. It has the heavyweight forks, folding footrests, alloy tank, energy transfer ignition, and the 6" headlight, single seat which are all genuine features. I have ply and would ship anywhere. $2,500.00

Original condition! 1952 BSA A10 Golden Flash Frame number: ZA7S 10223 Engine number: ZA10 15686 One of BSA's most beloved engines, the new 650cc A10 twin joined the 500cc A7 model in 1949. The existing parallel-twin architecture was retained for the A10, with a 360-degree crankshaft and single camshaft at the rear of the cylinder block. A four-speed gearbox bolted directly to the crankcase in a form of semi-unit construction. Like the A7, the A10 was available initially with either a rigid frame or plunger rear suspension; it would be another four years before swingarm rear suspension superseded both. Named Golden Flash, initially the new 650 was strikingly finished in pale beige metallic, a sure standout when black predominated. Ever since the model's introduction, enthusiasts have commonly referred to the touring A10 as the "Golden Flash," even when it was finished in alternative color schemes, as is the case with this particular example, a black plunger frame model. ? The matching-numbers A10 offered here has been on display in a private and very substantial multi-multi-million dollar collection of European cars and motorcycles. Purchased several years ago in the presented perfectly original cosmetic condition, the bike was sympathetically overhauled mechanically, with attention given to brakes, suspension and carburetion. The engine has excellent compression and the bike runs exceptionally well. It is accompanied by a substantial file of service and restoration receipts.

1970 BSA bobber, matching numbers, professionally built by Bison River Customs with less than 100 miles on it since completion. This bike has a fresh engine and carburetor, fresh TLS hub and shoes, forks were disassembled, inspected, reassembled with new seals. It also features a rear disc brake from a Triumph T-140, linked to a semi-forward control master cylinder and foot rests. This bike was styled after the 1951 BSA A10 hard tail with period correct oil tank with an additional billet aluminum external oil filter mount that accepts many brands of off the shelf filters. It also features a custom fabricated Exide style, side mount battery box fabricated from rugged 18 gage steel. Mounted below the battery box is a ¾ scale replica of the period horn in chrome. Gas tank is a custom Mustang tank. It has a left side custom made license plate mount and Model ‘T’ tail light. Rear ribbed fender is heavy gage steel with solid steel custom fabricated fender struts that are brushed and powder coated clear. Frame is painted single stage, gloss black urethane. Fork tubes and shrouds are powder coated gloss black. Tins were professionally painted deep metal-flake by Wild Card Customs. Rims are original Jones rims, 18” rear and 19” front. Rims, headlight bucket and exhaust were left original with surface defects for a seasoned look, vapor honed and sealed with silicone based polish to arrest corrosion (see pictures). Custom frame cowling behind engine houses ignition switch in an inconspicuous location. Oil pressure gage is mounted where stock speedo goes, because after all, oil pressure is more important than speed. An original BSA primary chain tensioner was employed as a custom drive chain tensioner, which gives a cool custom look and a lot of latitude for drive chain adjustment, eliminating chain slap. This bike is a one kick starter with an electronic ignition, a Tympanium capacitor and duel output coil. Built to ride, this bike is designed to be fast, dependable and stop quickly in traffic with an outstanding brake system. Not a trailer queen but close to it, it has looks that attract attention! Though most of the parts on this bike are either rebuilt or new, there is no warrantee expressed or implied. Winning bidder is responsible for transport. Please look at all of the pictures before bidding. (European bidders; please check your local VAT and determine shipping costs to your country from Florida before bidding. Hello, this is a very clean 90% + restored Ariel 500 single. (restored to its road racing days). The bike was originally raced back in the 1950's / 60's, and then again in the vintage class in the 1980's. The bike has many of the modifications common to a bike like this. It also has a completely rebuilt engine and trans with zero miles on them. The bike was completely disassembled in 2012 and everything was inspected / cleaned / refinished in addition to any machine work needed. The engine has a new sleeve, piston, rings, cam, crank brgs. The head is a big valve alloy unit with new valves and guides. It has a rebuilt lucas racing magneto with a super hot spark. Frame and girder fork are original Ariel units, frame number BP1878. Girder has a gas shock mod in place of the original spring. Wheels are newly built with alloy rims and stainless spokes. New Avon tires. Bike has alloy fenders. Gas tank is nice, oil pressure gauge and tach on gauge are present but not hooked up (tach needs 90 degree drive from cable to clock). The bike is wired with a working headlight and tail / brake light, and runs off battery. Bike has a clean Colorado title, bill of sale will be included. This bike has oil in it and I regularly kick it over by hand to circulate the oil. I am selling for health reasons. This bike has not been started since all the work was done as I'm not able to kick it over due to knee problems. There has been no gas in the tank since being cleaned and lined. This is an easy finish for someone, I'd just like it to go to someone who will finish it and appreciate it. This bike took first place in the British bike show here in Denver last year. Other than taking it to that show no one has ever seen it. Shipping costs and arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer. I will help any way I can from this end. Deposit is due immediately after clicking the purchase button, full payment is due within 7 days of purchase and should be in the form of a certified check. Bike is sold as-is. Please ask questions, thank you for looking.

BIGGER IS BETTER (back Ground) The MOV was doing so well that a larger version was needed & by lengthening the stroke, they created the 350cc Velocette MAC in 1934. It became the real bread winner for Velocette Motorcycles, their best-selling model. The much-needed capital was invested in an entirely new design, a big 500cc OHV single sport version to be called the MSS in 1935. This utilized an all-new frame, developed from the MkV KTT race machines & shared this frame with the KSS MkII, 1936-48. The MSS was another runaway hit for Velocette Motorcycles. World War II halted production which did not resume until much later. The 1935 MSS was a much more modern machine with the same frame as the Velocette MAC and was fitted with sidecar lugs and had optional panniers to appeal to the touring market. Buyers started tuning the MSS for speed, however, and the factory responded by producing the sports Velocette Venom model. Burt Monro from New Zealand, featured in the film "The World’s Fastest Indian" chose a 1936 MSS 500cc raced a heavily modified Velocette MSS. Racing preparations including making special pistons, changing the frame and increasing bored out engine capacity to 650cc. His top speed record on this motorcycle was 138 mph. with a 1/4 mile time of 12.31 seconds. This fine example is reported to be an excellent runner and fun to ride.
