DORSODURO 750 ABS Developed in close collaboration with Aprilia Racing (the department of Aprilia responsible for thirty-seven world titles), the Dorsoduro 750 combines the best technology from the worlds of supersports and racing supermotards. The result is a distillation of performance and technology, a special, extreme, and elite motorcycle that is capable of elevating its rider to motorcycling excellence. To Stand Out. Always Developed in close collaboration with Aprilia Racing, Dorsoduro 750 ABS was designed by taking the best features of sports bikes and supermotards, producing a perfect combination of performance, technology and fun. Power, lightness and agility, but also directionality, responsiveness and steering precision are therefore its main characteristics. Aprilia Dorsoduro ABS has components, technical features and finish of the highest quality which contribute to the uniqueness of the project. For the entire Dorsoduro 750 range, as the Shiver 750 range and the automatic Mana 850 from Aprilia, 35 kW powered-down versions are also available, in compliance with the criteria of the new A2 license. The Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 is equipped with the best braking technology currently available. The front brakes feature 4-piston radial calipers, state-of-the-art for the motard market. The light weight, 320 mm wave discs ensure shorter than ever stopping distances. The bikes aggressive stopping power is emphasized by the mean look of the braking system, in keeping with the Dorsoduros overall styling. The rear brakes incorporate another wave disc, 240 mm in diameter this time, plus a single piston caliper. Both the front and rear brakes are fitted with aeronautical type metal braided brake lines to eliminate the sponginess associated with conventional rubber hoses and to deliver maximum braking precision. A sophisticated two channel Continental ABS system provides maximum active safety on the Dorsoduro 750. The ABS controller is specially calibrated to make full use of the Dorsoduros impressive braking power and tire grip on dry surfaces. Riders can therefore still enjoy this amazing fun bike to the full. ENGINE Numerous improvements have been made to the Aprilia 750 cc, 90 V twin engine, which now features mapping specially developed to bring out the Dorsoduros aggressive character. Improvements have been made to various areas of the749.9 cc engine with its bore and stroke of 92 x 56.4 mm. As a result the electronic and mechanical content of this V-twin engine sets new standards not only for engines of this size but for many far larger units too. The electronic engine management on the Dorsoduro 750s engine leads the field in technology and performance. The Dorsoduro features a second generation electronic throttle with Tri-Map selectable triple mapping. Three performance modes, Sport, Touring and Rain, can be selected from a switch on the handlebars (with the throttle closed for safety reasons). The Dorsoduro changes its character radically, depending on what mode you select. Sport mode gives you aggressive instant power; Touring mode gives you a smoother action, better suited to relaxed long distance riding; and Rain mode gives you ultimate safety slippery surfaces. The Tri-Map electronic throttle also means smoother, more consistent power thanks to more accurate and precise throttle control based on parameters including engine speed, gear selection, air flow, throttle position and temperature. Whatever mapping you select, the engine is always ready to deliver the best possible performance in terms of acceleration and rev range, giving you an amazingly satisfying and entertaining ride. The exhaust is made entirely from stainless steel. The collector pipes meet in a single silencer under the seat before splitting again into two tail pipes. The large volume of the exhaust system also aids engine breathing and boosts efficiency. Thanks to its advanced electronic and mechanical technology, the Aprilia V twin engine develops 92 HP at 8,750 rpm and a maximum torque of82 Nm at 4,500rpm. These figures enable the Dorsoduro to compete directly with motorcycles powered by far bigger engines. The Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 is also available, right from its introduction, in a restricted 25 kW version. The use of a ride-by-wire electronic throttle has allowed Aprilia to avoid cutting power right across the range, as happens with less advanced restricted versions. Instead, the power curve of the restricted Dorsoduro is identical to that of its full-power sister right up to the point where the permitted power limit is reached. The 25 kW Dorsoduro 750 therefore delivers far superior acceleration to the equivalent models of the competition, to the benefit of riding satisfaction and pleasure. FRAME: PERFECT BALANCE Aprilia motorcycles have always been acclaimed for the excellent chassis designs. The Dorsoduro 750is no exception, thanks to a chassis that makes it the best balanced and most effective bike of its type. The new Dorsoduro is easy and intuitive to ride despite its blistering performance. It is designed to be ridden at the limit under all conditions, to perform extreme power slides, and to blast out of bends under full power. The secret lies in an ultra-responsive chassis, whose ergonomics suit riders of all statures and allow you to take it to the limit and enjoy the thrills of a motorcycle built for pure entertainment. The frame incorporates all of Aprilia's vast racing experience, and makes full use of the latest mixed steel and aluminum designs derived from the world of Super motard World Championship racing. The top half of the frame is a tubular steel trellis. This is secured to generous aluminum side members by special high strength bolts. The resulting structure is extremely rigid and light weight, and provides the best possible means of harnessing the exuberant power of the Aprilia V90 engine while still communicating a strong impression of lightness, high technology and Italian style. Continuous co-operation between engine and frame designers has led to the perfection of high-tech, performance-oriented solutions and to total integration between engine and frame. The intelligent design solutions applied to Aprilia's V-twin engine have made it shorter than ever, permitting the development of a rational and efficient frame and a superbly agile and incredibly responsive motorcycle. The lateral position and acute angle of the rear monoshock has freed up the space needed to ensure optimum exhaust geometry without any increase in the bikes overall length, and without subjecting the monoshock to thermal stress. The aluminum swingarm is robust enough to withstand the asymmetric stresses generated by the lateral positioning of the rear suspension. The swingarm has been specially developed to satisfy the needs of a supermotard like the Dorsoduro 750, and combines excellent torsional rigidity with the elasticity needed for precision under acceleration and intuitive control under changing conditions. SUSPENSION: ABSOLUTE EFFECTIVENESS The optimal definition of suspension has always been the pride of Aprilia designers and the Aprilia test team. The 43 mm upside-down front fork with shell-cast feet has spring preload and hydraulic brake adjustable in extension. The lateral shock absorber with is directly hinged to the swingarm in a cantilever configuration and has adjustable spring preload and hydraulic return; the front and rear wheel travel is 160 mm, which is also in line with the superbike philosophy that requires effective and controlled but long stroke suspension. Both steering yokes are forged, the upper also anodized, as a demonstration of the excellent level of finish of the Dorsoduro. BRAKES: RACING TECHNOLOGY The 4-piston radial caliper front brake system represents the current state of the art for a bike of this segment. The 320 mm floating wave discs are lightweight, ensure shorter stopping distances and underline the aggressiveness of braking thanks an incisive cool look, in line with the overall style of the Dorsoduro 750 ABS. Also the 240 mm rear disc is "wave" and braked by a single piston caliper. Both the front and rear systems use braided metal aeronautical type hoses to ensure maximum performance, even under stress. A sophisticated two channel Continental ABS system increases the safety level of the bike. Its specific calibration lets you to take full advantage of the sporting character of the Dorsoduro 750. DESIGN: STYLE AT THE SERVICE OF FUN Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 ABS is a project that focuses on the rider, a slim and agile bike, in which each element is designed to achieve the maximum riding pleasure. Superstructures are kept to a minimum, the design of the central area highlights the compactness of the bike, while the tail, compact and curvy, includes the dual exhaust, to the benefit of correct weight distribution. The hand guards, derived from the Aprilia SXV Superbike, are sleek in style and effective in protecting the levers against accidental contactEngineEngine type: Aprilia V90 four-stroke longitudinal 90° V-twin engine, withliquid cooling, double overhead camshafts driven by mixed gear/chain timing system, four valves per cylinder and Ride by Wire throttle control.Capacity: 749.9 ccMax power (at crankshaft): 92 hp (67.3 kW) at 8,750 rpmMax torque (at crankshaft): 60.4 lb.-ft (82 Nm) at 4,500 rpmFuel system: Integrated engine management system. 2012 Aprilia Dorsoduro 1200, SuperMoto Italian Style! - No compromises for a bike with nothing but pure fun in its sights. Explosively powerful, extremely agile and performance-focused, this exclusive twin-cylinder motard has been created to satisfy even the most discerning of riders who demand the best in a bike. A totally personalizable riding experience with triple-map Ride by Wire.
hi all, make me an offer - i found another bike i want to buy! :>) i test rode a hypermotard 1100 evo sp, and bought one last winter. it lives w/a '78 duc darmah, a '95 buell s2 making ~100whp/95ft-lbs torque, modified '00 suzuki dr650 motard. i've put ~2000 miles on the evo sp, and i'm not feeling it like i'd hoped. i thought i'd be wanting to ride it so much more than my other bikes, but it's not happening. some days i'm loving it; other days i wonder what am i doing on this thing? it may be just a bit too "hyper" for me - i think it's aptly named. so, it's for sale. i bought a new 6.4g ca cycleworks tank kit, full stainless mivv exhaust, and rapidbike evo fuel module; never installed. (~$2225) here's the basics: -16k miles (i am still riding it); 4k miles on dealer rebuilt motor, by ducati of dallas -ducati paid for parts, but not labor. the original owner decided he couldn't afford the labor, so he sold it to a ducati/dallas employee. he kept it for a couple thousand miles, and i bought it from him; uship got it to me for $300. he needed money for a house remodel. i have all the receipts from ducati of dallas. it runs great. what i've done: -new hammerhead gearshift ($110)-new oury grips ($cheap) -fabbri wind screen ($100; w/hidden damage, thanks to my inept install) -mirrors w/integrated turn signals ($140) -relocated rear turn signals and license plate ($cheap) -new l-ion battery ($160) -new gold-fren front brake pads installed ($40) -new rear tire, courtesy of a nail (avon 3d ultra sport av80) nib, never installed: -2nd new gold-fren brake pads, fronts and rears ($65) -6.4g ca cycleworks gas tank kit ($900)-pod filter wraps for ca cycleworks filters ($40) -full mivv stainless exhaust w/sensor bungs ($800) -rapidbike evo fuel controller ($525) i also have an extra stock seat; i was considering a custom seat. this bike, 377lbs and 95hp, is NOT a beginner's bike. Add the exhaust and the fuel controller; you're close to 110hp/360 lbs. The EVO SP has the Brembo brakes, forged wheels and Ohlins suspension, and retailed for $3k more than the standard Hypermotard. i had one get-off; pics show the results - quite minor. email for pics, i can only post 4 pics here. or check out the dc craigslist or ducati.ms asking $8181 i'd consider up/down trades for '07-'10 aprilia tuono factory, '04-10 aprilia rsvr factory, '92-'98 duc ss/sp, '06 up duc gt1000, ktm 1290 super duke, or '13 or newer ktm 690 duke. thanks, doug s. ps - this bike gets ridden and was not cleaned up in any way for the photos. pps - i will consider reasonable offers - both with or w/o the uninstalled tank/exhaust/fuel controller

The shaft itself is a two-part ‘metalistic’ shaft, which means that a rubber component sits between two separate shafts to deliver a smoother riding experience.Rider Comfort The heart of the Tiger Explorer philosophy is maximum comfort and control whatever the rider’s height, with a low 810mm to a towering 880mm adjustable seat height (utilising Triumph’s range of accessory saddles); plus adjustable screen and handlebar positions to increase the arm, wrist and hand comfort, as well as reducing potential wind buffeting. Load up with everything you need for the long trip with the large, flat surface luggage rack which includes rugged grab handles for pillion safety and comfort. For extra peace of mind, there’s also a generous under-seat storage compartment for a sturdy security lock.Rider Information Tiger Explorer tells you everything you need to know on a journey. The 2 inch x 2.5 inch LCD instrument pack uses thumb switches, with up/down scroll facility, on the handlebars and features a comprehensive onboard computer. Info provided includes 2 trip meters displaying distance covered, journey time, average speed, average fuel consumption, instant fuel consumption, range to empty. Also visible on the LCD screen is the odometer readout, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System readout (if fitted), heated seat power indicator, cruise control operation information and service interval. There is also an on-screen alert for freezing temperatures as well as a numeric readout for ambient temperature.Electrical Accessories Capability Tiger Explorer’s best-in-class 950w generator facilitates simultaneous operation of multiple electrical accessories. The generator works by using fixed coils charged by six rotating powered coils (not magnets as is usual on motorcycles) which are geared off the clutch. This allows more power to be produced at lower revs and to suit the consumption of the Tiger Explorer and its accessories. It also avoids the need to overproduce power and to dissipate excess heat. The result is less energy wastage, better economy and less ‘performance drag’ on the engine. The Tiger Explorer is also fitted with a power socket conveniently located close to the ignition for powering your GPS unit or your items of heated clothing. An additional socket, located close to the pillion seat, is available as a Triumph Genuine Accessories fitment.Specifications TypeLiquid-cooled, 12 valve, DOHC, in-line three-cylinderCapacity1215ccBore/Stroke85 x 71.4mmFuel SystemDrive by wire, fuel injectionExhaustStainless steel 3 into 1 , side mounted stainless steel silencerFinal DriveShaftClutchWet, multi-plateGearbox6-speedOil Capacity4.0 liters (1.1 US gals)FrameTubular steel trellis frameSwingarmSingle-sided, cast aluminium alloy with shaft driveWheel FrontCast aluminium alloy 10-spoke 19 x 2.5inWheel RearCast aluminium alloy 10-spoke 17 x 4.0inTire Front110/80 R 19TIre Rear150/70 R 17Suspension FrontKYB 46mm upside down forks, 190mm travelSuspension RearKYB monoshock with remote oil reservoir, hydraulically adjustable preload, rebound damping adjustment, 194mm rear wheel travelBrakes Front"Twin 305mm floating discs, Nissin 4-piston calipers, Switchable ABSBrakes RearSingle 282mm disc, Nissin 2-piston sliding caliper, Switchable ABSInstrument Display/FunctionsLCD instrument pack with digital speedometer, analogue tachometer, gear position indicator, fuel gauge, range to empty, service indicator, clock, air temperature, frost warning, hazard warning lights, trip computer, Tyre pressure monitoring systemLength2248mm/88.4inWidth (handlebars)885mm (34.8in)Height without mirrors1410mm/55.5inSeat Height837mm (32.9in) - 857mm (33.7in)Wheelbase1530mm/60.2inRake/Trail23.9 degree/105.5mmFuel Tank Capacity / Efficiency20 litres/5.3 US galsWet Weight (ready to ride)259kg/570lbsMaximum Power137PS/135bhp/101kW @ 9300rpmMaximum Torque121Nm/89 ft.lbs @ 6400rpmFuel Efficiency38 City / 57 Highway *Estimated from fuel economy tests on a sample motorcycle conducted under ideal laboratory conditions.
