Nice 1976 Montesa Cota 348 Vintage Trials motorcycle. Good cosmetic condition. starts and runs, but needs carb cleaned in order to hold a low speed idle. This bike has been in storage for 6 years, and I suspect that the idle jet is clogged. Sold with a Bill of Sale. Also includes an extra seat/tank unit. These are great, competitive mounts for Vintage Trials and AHRMA competitions. Local pickup is fine; also happy to have your shipper pick the bike up from my home. All shipping fees and arrangements to be handled by the purchaser. Thanks for looking! I'm having trouble changing the Title/category on this listing. The bike is a Montesa, not a Bultaco. Sorry for any confusion, I will keep trying to correct the miscategorization.

Up for sale is my TY250 trials bike. The bike is unrestored and unmolested, has been used but not abused. I purchased the bike from an older gentleman who had owned it for many years but had been storing it for about 20 years. All the bike needed was a carb clean and it fired up immediately. The bike starts first kick every time and has good compression. Engine is solid, no rattling, clean oil in when I found it, in immediate need of nothing. Headlight and taillight work as they should, high and low beam. I am unsure if the oiler works, it is there and there's oil in the tank, but the oiler has been disconnected. Inside of tank is rust free, when I bought the bike it had some surface rust in it so I flushed it out with dilute phosphoric acid to neutralize the rust. There is a significant knee dent on the right side of the tank, I think it's restorable but it would take some metal pulling by a professional. It also needs a new rear tab which has broken off (common). Fenders should be replaced for they are aged/cracked and the seat needs a re cover. Lighting on/off switch broken off in the on position. All pretty basic "old bike" details. All in all, this is simply put an all original (except tires and new tail light) survivor which was lightly used. I think this is a nice find for you could just jump right on and ride it as is, or it would be a prime bike for an easy restoration. I have just had it in my shop along side all my other bikes and decided I have no real need for it. I also have a second complete headlight that I will include if the offer price is nearly met. These are extremely rare and worth around $200 alone. Will also include the original tail light which is just the base, no lens. If you are interested in shipping, it's all on you. I will take the bike to Forward Air to be freighted but that's about as far as I will go shipping wise. The bike is for sale local also, so if the auction terminates early that is why. This bike has no title, trials bikes are not street legal and a snail would probably outrun you anyhow! Thank you for looking and have a nice day.

First off this motorcycle does not have a titleSecond off this motorcycle does not have titleMONTESA COTA 348 TWIN SHOCK MALCOLM RATHMELL REPLICAVIN 51M6885 on both frame and motor. Six speed transmission. AMAL concentric MK2 carburetor and throttle assembly. There is no speedometer / odometer so mileage above is N/A1976 - 1977 Montesa Malcolm Rathmell replica this bike starts runs and idles great but has few issues that should be addressed.Seat upholstery is ratty, looks like someone has used liquid metal to patch tank this should be done using Marine Tex or proper fiberglass patching method, seems to fall out of second gear sometimes, no kill switch or headlight taillight assemblies, fork ears for head light are still there, rear fender is broken, tires are dry rotted but hold air fine, decompression lever is broken, no kickstand, mission wiring to headlight and tail light assemblies. The good.Starts right up, idles great after short warm up period, original fork ears for head light, original partial tool kit under seat, original handle bars, fun to ride has great compression would be a great start to a vintage AHRMA trials restoration project or just fix up to use as is.This bike is sold AS IS as seen in pictures no warranty implied or given in this sale.Look at pictures carefully what you see is what you get. This is a no return no warranty purchase. If you have any questions ask before you buy.I do not accept Paypal as FINAL BALANCE only certified funds, cashiers checks, USPS money orders, or international bank transfers and of coarse CASH at pick up within seven days. 1975 Kawasaki KT250 Trials great original condition has very low miles and the bike shows very little use everything works as it should when it came new the condition is very good the seat is nice NO tears side covers have all the tabs Tank has a very small ding right side near the filler and a few marks but the insde is clean NO rust. The forks have NO pits and work perfectly wheels are straight and rims are nice still have the DID stickers there are no tyre lever marks or dings these are the original Dunlops a little hard though.I replaced the Fork wipers Carb boot to air cleaner NOS parts and Chain. The handle bar light switch is NOT broken and operate covers on the levers are original. The headlamp shell has a rub mark and piant is missing on it and the rear light has a small scrap on the white holder. The bike motor is not polished it has the natural patina can easily be buffed up The exhaust was stripped and repainted NO dings Fender are nice NO cracks. The engine is sound runs great NO noises and all gears work. I have owned many KTs and this is by far the most original and nicest I have had the paint is not factory I think but its a desent job. You will be hard pressed to find such a clean original honest bike unrestored its 39 years old. Sorry to sell it but thining the herd any question please contact before bidding I can professionally crate as shown in another bike I crated with cardboard or sheet ply as needed and delivered to local shipper in LA for a fee. NO TITLE!!! I'm forced to choose a title status, but as we all know, most old dirt bikes were never issued titles. I bought this from the original owner...he never had a title for it! NO SHIPPING / CRATING!!! THE BIKE MUST BE PICKED UP HERE IN NEWVILLE, PA (CLOSE TO HARRISBURG) WITHIN 2 WEEKS. I PREFER TO BE PAID IN CASH...IF I DON'T HAVE TO GIVE MONEY TO PAYPAL, I'LL TAKE LESS FOR THE BIKE! My 14 year old son and I cleaned this bike up as a winter project (I've owned a successful bike repair shop for 15 years). My friend was teaching motorcycle repair at YTI, and one of his students was selling this bike (his father bought it new in 1973). The "numbers matching" bike still has all of it's original parts (except for the tires, front brake cable, chain and gas cap). It was in great shape when we started. We took it mostly apart, blasted, cleaned and painted what needed it while trying to retain originality...IT IS NOT A CONCOURS OR PROFESSIONAL RESTORATION...we are amateurs at best. The front brake cable is used from a GT80, and the gas cap is from Yamaha. We had to repair the hose nipple on the bottom of the oil tank (they're expensive)...we used basically a valve stem for a mag type wheel (very proud of the job...it came out well). The topend was off and looked very good, we cleaned it up and put it back together...it's not terribly rattly like most beat to death gt80's. The gas tank is clean inside. The forks are pitted and could probably use resealing (no oil coming out, but we've barely ridden it). We've both ridden it about 10 minutes each...it works great! If I really try, I can get the clutch to slip in high gear (I'm 165lbs...can you blame it?). WE REALLY LOVE THIS BIKE! I'm sure that we'll regret selling it, but like I tell my son "you can't keep them all". I try to remind him that money doesn't grow on trees, and we have to fund our racing habits somehow. Questions? Call 717-776-4743. Justin
