I have a great 1981 Suzuki GS 550 that has been rebuild from the frame up into a tastefully modified street tracker. The four cylinder (!) 550cc engine and carbs have also been completely rebuilt, new frame and sheet metal paint and excellent chrome. New custom tan seat and modern lighting rounds this build out perfectly. Only about 250 miles on it since the rebuild, it is basically a new bike. This has been my go-to run around bike. The 550 is a high revving buzzy motor with wide power band. In a mid size frame this bike gives any 500-600 cc crotch rocket a run for its money. It is a comfortable bike for two but still very sporty. It always ends up in the custom build pen with $50K+ Harley customs at the bike rallies! Cracks me up. Great platform if you want to make an awesome cafe racer. It is a nice starter bike too or second bike to run around instead of wheeling out the big rig. I hate to give it up but have two other bikes and I need to pay attention to another build I am working on. You will never lose money on this bike. She's 37 and just reaching her prime. Dare to be different!

A fuel-injected 805cc engine provides ample power for long trips down the highway or the daily commute on city streets. Power is certainly a necessity for the Suzuki Boulevard C50, but comfort is its forte. For sale a 1981 Suzuki GS550T. This is a wonderful first motorcycle for someone or, with a little bit of work, it could become a great bike for years to come. Since I've owed this bike I have done much of the work on it that should have been done by the previous owner, including: new tires, new battery, new chain, rebuilt the carburetor, new rubber intake boots, switched to electronic ignition, all the various lights are new, replaced the regulator rectifier with a more reliable Honda model, wired in a switch to bypass the old ignition wiring, new plugs, new throttle cable, new clutch cable, new choke cable, rebuilt the fuel pet cock, and of course, I have changed the oil and filter every year I have owned it. I have also, for every time I take out one of the Japanese phillips bolts, I've replaced it with a brand new stainless steel hex bolt. Currently, the bike runs very strong while it is running, however, it can be a little difficult to start at times. I believe it needs a tune up. You will also note in one of the pictures that there is some electrical tape on the front master cylinder reservoir. That was on it when I got it, and the bike has stopped incredibly well since I've had it, so I decided to leave well enough alone. I also have the left side cover, it just needs to be glued back together. Additionally, you will notice the safety bars on the front of the bike, which protect the engine in the event of laying the bike down or getting it knocked over. This bike is very much fun to drive, it can rev really high, but at the same time it can be a pleasant and quiet bike in the city at the low revs. If you have questions or need more pictures, feel free to contact me.
