I'm listing my 1976 Kawasaki KZ900. Clean Maryland title in my name. Bike runs good, starts right up everytime. No engine smoke. Bike is painted in a 1974 Z1 paint scheme by previous owner. Beautiful paint that really "POPS" in the sun. Bike is equipped with a Dyna electric ignition & coils. Carbs are 28mm "pumper" carbs purchased and rebuilt by Jim @ Redline cycles in ILL. Many new parts within the past year including carb manifolds, tires, rims, spokes, chain & sprockets, K&N air filters, NOS Kawasaki grips, paint job. Re-chromed fenders. Bike is sold with its toolkit, original key and owner's manual. Odometer reads 16,765 but i was told that the speedo is a replacement. Because of the age the bike is mileage exempt. Seat cover has a defect (see pic) but it's not that noticeable when seat is closed. seat pan is solid, no rust. All electronics & lights work including the turn signal buzzer. Bike is still equipped with its original hazard switch. Has a nice condition older Kerker 4 into 1 chrome header that is music to the ears when riding. Bike has been sitting in a dry garage all winter and so far this summer, i start it once a week to keep it in running condition. Bike gets compliments & thumbs up everywhere i go. If you don't like attention than this is not the bike for you. Only reason i'm selling is i was diagnosed with a deteriorating disc in my neck so i recently purchased a classic car to play with instead. Please take note that this is a 40yo motorcycle. It's not brand new or frame off restored. It is a clean, nice riding, always garage kept motorcycle. More pics can be taken and Emailed at your request, just message me. Any questions message me. Bike is sold as is where is. No warranty. Shipping is buyer's responsibility. These old 900's in this original unaltered condition are getting harder & harder to find. Thanks.

1974 Kawasaki Z1 900 KZ900 , Here is a classic bike. It is a Z1 900.Thats right, a Z1 900 not a KZ900.  Check out the pictures this bike looks great,  it runs and rides great too! Lots of chrome, Vance & Hines Sidewinder 4 in to1 pipe. Pingle foot peg mounts, and a  box, aluminum Suzuki GS1100E swing arm on it, it is trick!!!! There has been a lot of chroming done to it, There is a picture of it with the seat open, even the battery box, and seat mounts have been given the chrome treatment!! It also still has the slid out tool tray in the tail fin. New tire on the rear.   I have shown it with two different seats, one is a  black velour, the other is the normal low cut, black vinyl. The buyer will get his or her choice of seats.   These bikes are getting hard to find in this condition.   If you are looking for a classic Kawasaki that runs, and rides correctly, you must look at this bike!!!  Check out the pictures, and give us a call!!! If you need to have it shipped, please email me your zip code.  Be sure to check out brennys dot com for this, and lots of other bikes, and ATVs!!!

Z1900. I do not have a title, I can not find it. I have old registration which I think is the last registered owner if you want it. Engine turns over free and no weird sounds and it shifts trough all the gears. The cases look good with no cracks. The bike is non running and missing the carbs and air box. It has a nice Kawasaki Kerker pipe that is real straight. The seat is not bolted down and is a aftermarket that looks really good with no holes etc.. looks brand new. The taillight has a little crack at the top, one of the switches has a chip and one has plastic missing, front brake lever not working, clutch lever loose. I think there is a weld above the right back peg. Look at all the pics for details and condition and if you have any questions let me know. I can have this bike shipped to Southern California for $200.00 I also get you quotes to other areas. Thanks!

Up for sale is my vintage 1974 Kawasaki KS125. I have a clear Florida title in hand. Just finished a painstaking, true to original, two year frame up restoration with a combination, repainting, refinishing, replacing OEM parts. Searching for parts was nearly impossible as the KS125 was only made for two years...1974-1975...VERY RARE...Whenever possible parts were replaced with NOS and when no longer available they were cleaned, blasted, re-chromed or repainted. The original Candy Lime Green paint was used and done professionally...the side cover is a brand new NOS part. The engine and carburetor were gone over thoroughly and cleaned repaired and tuned where necessary. I would rate the bike as a 8.0-9.0 on a scale of 1-10, because there are a few original un-retouched parts such as the tires and rims. The speedometer shows 750 miles as of today, however it may have a few more by the time it sells as its a blast to ride...everyone stops to ask about it... I have tried to include as many detail pictures, including a few "before"s, as possible however I can always add/send more by request. The entire restoration is documented in pictures. In the past I have restored and sold a 1962 Yamaha YDS-2, 1968 Kawasaki A7-SS Avenger, 1976 Kawasaki KZ900 LTD, 1976 Honda CR125 Elsinore and many others with great results so consider this bike with confidence. I do have it up for sale locally as well so I reserve the right to end this listing at any time. Please feel free to ask any questions...serious buyers only please...negative or no feedback, please contact me first. Buyer is responsible for shipping/picking up however I will help in any way I can. Thanks for your time and good luck!!!

For sale. 1974 Kawasaki Z1A. Matching numbers Z1F 30801 Z1E 30891. 23k original miles. Clear title in my name. Original survivor z1. For your bidding pleasure is very nice and correct Z1A. The pipes and fuel tap are not original. Pipes are kz900 that I had re chromed a few years ago. They are decent no rust or dents and match the patina of the bike perfectly. Everything else is original and correct for the bike. Original Kelly green paint is beautiful non faded and my opinion the best color in all the Z series bikes. There are a few small scratches as one would expect in a forty year old motorcycle. Inside tank is as new. Bike has complete working chain oiler. All the lights, indicators, horn , gauges function properly. Bridgestone battlax BT 45 tires are new less then 500 miles. All chains sprockets good. Complete tool kit owners manual and dealer/factory crate order form. This is a very nice z1 that ready to ride. It starts runs, idle,s shifts, stops as it should. I will let the photos speak for themselves. Nice Z1. Please note the bike is dirty road grime I have been ridding it and will continue to ride so mileage will change. Not by much though It may get another 50-100 miles or so before end of auction Buyer responsible for all shipping charges and arrangements. Payment by bank wire transfer Good Luck

Over several years I have had the pleasure to own, restore and be a avid collector of all things 1973 Kawasaki Z1. To date I have had at least 10 (ten) 1973 models that have passed through my garage doors and 4 remain. Two original bikes and two in the early state of restoration, both of which were decent running largely original bikes prior to dismantling. In addition, I have compiled a large assortment of NOS, and quality used parts for the 1973 model. A large number of these parts from the dismantled bikes as well as extras have been re-chromed, re-zinc plated, and or powder-coated in preparation of my use in the restoration process. There are of course some (very little) new and aftermarket parts as well but on whole I would say 99% are OEM Kawasaki. There is essentially with the exception of a rear wheel, and exhausts nearly every part necessary to complete both restorations. In addition, there are probably enough desirable extra parts to offset much of the cost of the parts one would need to acquire. See link below to see hi-res photos of the bikes and inventory of parts http://s83.photobucket.com/user/arcaneman/library/2Z1Parts? This auction is for two (2) 1973 Kawasaki Z1's Vin: Z1F-14002, Z1E-14219 31K miles and Z1F-7338, Z1E-7518 15K miles? with matching engine numbers, and with clear open titles. In addition, this sale includes all the shown parts, to complete the bikes restorations if desired or for whatever intent you as the buyer desire. This is a BUY IT NOW sale. No offers will be excepted for individual parts or either bike alone. Winner takes ALL or NONE. I have included multiple views of all parts I only posted 24 of nearly 100 photos. A few highlighted Parts Factory dual disks Original body work, 2 original Z1 tanks and one KZ900 Original gauges Original fork ears/ fenders, lights Rare “Long Guard” fender and required tail light Manuals Original handlebar switches Original hardware Many parts re-zinced. Up for sale is a very clean YAMAHA XS 650 ,Has about 17,000 miles on it about 900 with fresh top end , all original except for the Kirker headers on the bike I do not have the original Pipes , also I removed the points and condenser and installed an electronic Ignition for a more reliable ride , other that that it is all ORIGINAL STOCK bike , the seat , cables , and everything else are original , I have installed new tires and tubes and rim strips for the spokes , the aluminum rims are absolutely perfect ! Changed the brakes out when the tires were installed this bike is ready to ride Seriously , Added a new Gel Battery , All original paint and graphics . Had the carbs rebuilt and tuned at Shear's Cycles in Newark Ca. This bike sounds great and rides even nicer . Was stored in a garage since 1989 . I have owned this bike since 2012 and it has current license and registration in California ...... Model history[edit]The 1970 model was designated the XS-1.[2] Subsequent Yamaha Xs650 models[3] were XS-1B (1971), XS-2 (1972), then TX (1973), TX-A (1974), XS-B (1975), XS-C (1976), XS-D (1977), XS-E (1978), XS-F (1979). 1979 was the last year of the so-called "Standards" (an unofficial term commonly used to differentate it from the "Special," which has pullback bars, a teardrop tank, and other differences in appearance). The Es and Fs also came in Special form: XS-SE (S for Special) and XS-SF. From then on they were Specials only to XS-SG, XS-SH, XS-SJ, XS-SK. There was a Special II (Two) model designation in 1979 (XS-SF-II), 1980 (XS-G), 1981 (XS-H) which were models with fewer chrome parts and drum rear brake (1979, 1980) or wire wheels (1981) versus disc rear brake or cast wheels. The first two model years (XS-1 and XS-1B) were kick start only, with an electric starter added from the 1972 model year on. This had a compression release added to the front left exhaust tappet cover resulting in a square versus triangular cover found on the other exhaust and intake covers. Upon removal of the compression release mechanism in 1974 due to uprated starter, the square cover at the left exhaust valve was continued.Brake modification notes:Drum fronts on early models cannot be changed.Pre '77 & post '77 fronts have different (offset) brake discs, the wheels swap but not the discs.Drum rear wheel into rear disc frame needs the rear drum frame swingarm too.Disk rear wheel into rear drum frame needs the rear disc frame swingarm and also needs brake master-cylinder lugs welded to the frame.Handling differences on swapping rear wheels:-Standard rear tire is 110/90-18. Special rear tire is 130/90-16. Because the Standard tire is narrower it will tend to steer a bit more quickly. Because the Special tire is wider it will tend to be a bit steadier in a straight line. Overall gearing is not changed from the Standard, as the two tires are essentially the same outside diameter.Prior to the XS-B model, the bike had a reputation for speed wobbles but adjustments to the 1975 setup overcame these.1976 models had the front brake caliper moved to the right fork leg, behind the fork as opposed to in front of the fork. This placed the brake caliper nearer the axle center-line, requiring slightly less effort to steer.Mid-'77 the front forks had a major redesign, fork tube diameter increased from 34 to 35 mm (1.4 in) and internals were changed (although this also holds true for various years of the same tube size). The entire fork assembly (with triple tree) will swap either way but fork parts are not equivalent. Also the brake caliper changed from a 48 mm (1.9 in) dual piston cast iron design for the 34 mm (1.3 in) fork to a 40 mm (1.6 in) aluminum single piston floating caliper for the 35 mm (1.4 in) forks. The brake caliper mounting lugs on the fork sliders are of different spacing for the 34 mm (1.3 in) and 35 mm (1.4 in) forks so the calipers can't be swapped.End of production[edit]The XS 650 was produced until 1985. The last model year was 1983 in the United States, with Canada, Europe and other markets continuing into 1984 and 1985. However, many US models remained unsold for some years due to overproduction and an economic recession and brand new 1982 and 1983 models could still be purchased in 1987 at some dealerships.Design[edit]Engine[edit]Like its contemporaries in its class the XS 650 has a 360° crank angle. This provides an even firing interval between the twocylinders, but also generates some vibration caused by the two pistons rising and falling together. This vibration is particularly noticeable at idle. The XS 650s valves are operated by a single overhead camshaft (SOHC) whereas almost all contemporaries in its class have pushrod valvegear[citation needed].The 360 degrees crankshaft uses three roller bearings and a ball bearing. The camshaft uses four ball bearings, and rolling bearings are used throughout the rest of the engine. Connecting rods turn on needle bearings. Since the engine is SOHC, there are no pushrods to operate the valves. The camshaft gets its drive from a single-row chain running from the center of the crankshaft. Chain tension is maintained by a spring-loaded guide, which also takes up unnecessary slack. The intake valve opens 47 degrees BTC, closes 67 degrees ATC, yielding intake duration of 294 degrees, exhaust duration on 281 degrees, and an overlap of 88 degrees. Because the flywheel is lighter than British contemporaries, the engine tends to pick up revs more rapidly when the throttle is opened quickly.During the later developments of the engine compression ratios were lowered, then raised. Pistons were lightened 20 percent along with connecting rods to reduce the reciprocating mass inside the engine. Aluminum pistons are slightly domed with valve pockets. Pistons have three rings installed, two compression and one oil control ring.Horizontal split of the crankcases offers the advantages of oil tightness through the elimination of vertical joints and one-step access to both the lower end and the gearbox. Oil pressure is provided by the trochoidal pump, driven by a steel spur gear off the crankshaft. The main bearings, crank pins, transmission main shaft, clutch bushing, shifter fork guide bar, and rocker arms are lubricated by pressurized oil, whereas the rest of the engine is lubricated by “oil splash.”[4][5]Carburetion[edit]Pre-1980 models use the twin 38 mm (1.5 in) constant velocity Mikuni carburetors that can be tuned by moving the needle clip position, or by replacing jets. In the carburetors the velocity of the fuel mixture through the venturi, regulated by the opening of the butterfly valves and engine speed, causes a pressure difference between the top and the bottom of the carburetor pistons. This pressure difference raises and lowers the carburetor slides, increasing or decreasing engine output accordingly.Post-1979 models use smaller 34 mm (1.3 in) Mikuni CV carbs with needles that seem to be listed in parts menus as being 'fixed' position,(in other words a needle that may only have one clip position). The pilot and main jets can be changed for different sizes. If the 34 mm (1.3 in) CV carb needles only have one fixed clip position.Ignition[edit]The models up to 1979 use points ignition. Two sets of points are located on the upper left of the cylinder head. On the right side cylinder head, an advance mechanism is located. An advance mechanism is used to retard the timing for easy starting and smooth idle. Post-1979 models use electronic ignition systems.1979 Yamaha XS650 Advance Mechanism1979 Yamaha XS650 Point IgnitionPerformance[edit]Cycle World tested the XS650 in March 1979.[6] It ran the standing-start quarter mile 13.86 seconds with a terminal speed of 96.05 mph (154.58 km/h). The motorcycle's average fuel economy was 51.4 miles per US gallon (4.58 L/100 km; 61.7 mpg-imp)[7]See also[edit]Yamaha XS750 Triple SpecialKawasaki KZ650Honda CB650References[edit]Jump up^ "Yamaha XS 650".
