1982 Wing Derringer For Sale in Weirsdale, Florida 32195Performance and Handling: This aircraft is easily handled with well harmonized flight controls.Stable flight characteristics make for an excellent IFR platform.Stalls are predictable with no unusual tendencies. Excellent visibility in all phases of flight.I have operated the aircraft from Love’s Field which has turf runways with no problems. It is comfortably flown in and out of 2,200ft hard runways at about 80% of max weight. I generally cruise at 7,000 to 9,000ft at 165kts LOP 13.8galls/hr.For planning purposes I use 14gal/hr for flights of 2 hours or more. Total fuel is 88 gals in two tanks. Normal fuel management is tank-to-engine. Construction and Systems: The aircraft is very strongly constructed using conventional techniques,but unlike most aircraft of this type all rivets are flush resulting in a very smooth finish. Gear and flaps are electric. Easy to access and maintain.Flight controls are cable and push rod. General: The aircraft was built over a long period, due mainly to the fuel crisis in the seventies.This was the last production aircraft and was owned by one person up until I bought it in 2012.It was conceived as a “sports car” concept type of aircraft for two people.It has a vast luggage area that can carry up to 250lbs.Weight and balance is never a problem.
