Up for auction is a 1970 Honda CT70. This bike has been a 6 month project for me. It has been totally restored. The only thing I did not take apart was the crankcase. I did not split the case because it was in great condition. I purchased this bike from the original owner, a co-worker, who had the bike since 1971. The body, swing arm, foot pegs and bracket, wheels, and front forks were stripped down to the bare metal and professionally powder coated. The head and side case was also ceramic coated by the same manufacturer (Pro Kote of Indianapolis). The paint was matched as close as possible to the original candy sapphire blue color. The finish of this paint is excellent and must see to appreciate. The "Honda" decals on each side of the frame are new old stock OEM. I was able to carefully remove the Trail 70 aluminum side badges as well as the serial number badge, clean them, and reinstall. The engine was rebuilt with new seals, piston rings, gaskets, and lapped the valves. All hardware is stainless steel. The tires are new as well, OEM Bridgestone Trail Wing's. The chrome fenders, chrome engine guard, chrome taillight holder, and chrome exhaust covers were not re-chromed, but in original condition. The chrome is not in perfect condition, showing some pits, but still displays well. The following items are new, but aftermarket and not OEM. Headlight bucket, headlight lens and trim ring, handlebars (CHP motorsports), rear shocks, taillight lens, speedo and brake cables (CHP motorsports) and chain guard. Items may be aftermarket but look excellent. I also upgraded to All Balls sealed steering bearings as well as sealed wheel bearings. The front and rear sprockets are semi-original. When the owner purchased the bike, he put on a 45 tooth rear sprocket to make it easier to climb hills. The chain is new. The aluminum handlebar holder is original and was polished to a beautiful shine. The handlebar knobs are original as well. The speedometer is in great original condition, and works great. I purchased a new OEM horn, but the horn button is original. The ignition switch and keys are new OEM. There many other new OEM parts, see below for the list. I currently work in design engineering at my company and I purchased the bike for a winter project with the intent of selling. It is an excellent looking bike to either display, ride, or just to own a piece of history. I highly suggest contacting me and setting up an appointment to inspect the bike, I want the high bidder to be satisfied, in which I feel that they will. If you want to see a picture of a specific part of the bike that I did not capture, please let me know and I will add it to the auction. See the attached video of the motorcycle idling, it sounds great (you will notice the foot brake and spark plug guard had not been re-installed yet in the video. Pictures show fully completed bike). With the current sprocket setup, the bike will go 30mph. Motorcycle does have a clear title. When I went to the DMV to get the title transferred, I asked them if I could keep the original title. They let me keep the original title from 1971 (the previous person was the second owner because the primary person only kept it a year before they sold it). So the high bidder will get the new transferred title in my name and also the original title from 1971. High bidder will also receive the original shocks, handlebars, and ignition switch that were not put back on the bike. High bidder to pay with a bank certified check or PayPal. I will ship the bike, but the high bidder is responsible for all shipping costs and obtaining a shipping service. Please be aware, the shipping service the high bidder provides must be responsible for all aspects of transportation, such as palleting, tied down, crating, etc. I will only be responsible for giving the actual motorcyle to the transportation service. I suggest finding a shipping service that specilizes in motorcycles. I can meet the transportor in Bloomington Indiana, you can use the zip code 47403 for estimating purposes. I wanted to point out that there is a small ding under the "D" on the left side. This was on the bike before the restoration. I did not think it was that bad and I did not want to add any body filler, and wanted to keep it original. It does not take away from the bike, but I wanted to make sure everyone saw it.
