Specs >> 2010 Aprilia Tuono 1000 R in 'Rosso Fluo' paint scheme; Predecessor: Aprilia RSV Tuono; Successor: Aprilia Tuono V4 R; Class: naked bike; EngineBRP-Rotax V990, 997,62 cc 60° V-twin, 4-stroke, liquid cooled; Power 99.8 kW (135.7 PS; 133.8 hp) @ 9500 rpm; Torque11.9 kg·m (117 N·m; 86 lb·ft) @ 8500 rpm; Transmission~6-speed, chain drive; SuspensionFront: 43mm fully adjustable Showa Upside-down (USD) forks, rear: Sachs monoshock with adjustable preload and inbound damping; Brakes_front: Dual 320mm disc with radially mounted Brembo calipers, rear: single disc; Tires Tubeless radial, front: 120/70 ZR 17, rear: 190/50 ZR 17; Wheelbase1,415 mm (55.7 in); Seat height830 mm (32.7 in); Weight 181 kg (399 lb) (dry); Fuel capacity 18 litres (1,098.4 cu in)The 2nd generation Tuono, the Tuono 1000 R, is based upon the 2004 - 2011 Aprilia RSV1000R superbike. One technical difference between the Tuono 1000 R and the RSV1000R is that the latter has a rear shock providing control of both inbound- and outbound damping, as well as preload control. The Tuono 1000 R only provides control of preload and inbound damping. This directly implies that the stock Tuono is less usable as a track bike when compared to the Mille. However, since the parts between the two are interchangeable and abundant this should not hinder anyone wanting to use the Tuono as a track bike from changing the rear shock.Other differences are purely cosmetic and comprise of the lack of a full fairing, a superbike handlebar instead of clip-ons and different paint schemes. Like the first generation Tuono, the Tuono 1000 R also employs a steering damper as standard. The BRP-Rotax 'V990' 60° V-Twin engine was upgraded significantly when compared to the first generation Tuono: different gear ratios (close ratio with longer first gear), larger throttle bodies, single spark plug, minor cosmetic changes and an increase in power output to 99.8 kW (135.7 PS; 133.8 hp) @ 9500 rpm. Torque increased to 11.9 kg·m (117 N·m; 86 lb·ft) @ 8500 rpm.The 2006 - 2011 Aprilia Tuono is offered in two versions: the Tuono 1000 R is the standard version, based upon the Aprilia RSV1000R. The Tuono 1000 R Factory is Aprilia's flagship naked bike.
