This is a 1999 Solectria Force electric car. It is a converted Chevy Metro that has a three phase AC motor and controller. It has Nickle Metal Hydride batteries, 15 packs of 12 volts each. They are holding a charge but I am not sure of their actual capacity. I had it charged and ran it about ten miles. The original body for this car was very rusty. The running gear has been transplanted onto another chassis that had minimal rust. The only spots were on the rockers and they have been repaired. The suspension areas had no rust. The batteries have been installed all in the back temporarily. Originally, 40% of the batteries were in the front and 60% were in the rear. I put them all in the back for monitoring. This makes the car very light in the front. Once the batteries are deemed okay, they can be reinstalled in the front battery box which is not in the car but is a simple installation. The current charger does not come on because the battery controller (Solectria DAQ) is not installed. All parts are included and were working when the change was made. I have charged the batteries manually, so it can be moved easily. I thought some lithium Chevy Volt batteries would be an excellent replacement for not much money. Good rubber. Many spare parts, if you want them. Again, it does run and move, but will need the original battery control and charger installed. Or a different charger if you prefer. It should go 100 miles with a new Chevy Volt pack, which is available used for about $1500 and new for about $2400! Buyer pays shipping. We can assist with loading and shipping.
