I bought this bike in 1994 and completely redid
everything on it. As you can see from the pictures there isnt much left of a stock sportster.
I had the front end custom made Springer by Paugcho put on when I bought the bike. The front fender is also a custom job. The back fender is a custom softail fender, with cats eye tail light. The seat is a mustang seat. I had custom kuryaken mirrors with the turn signals built into them along with babyapes with wires ran thru them and o ring chain, highway sprockets so it run smooth around 70mph.
I also Had a 21 inch wheel on the front, and to ensure the bike stopped on a dime, I had
P&M brakes put on it. I rode this bike for quite a while, until late 2009, when I had the
engine rebuilt by tilleys hd of salisbury. I put about 600 miles on the bike, then had the
tranny redone by dirt and street cycle in rockwell nc.
It was about this time, I noticed the tank leaked around the petcock. I was going to redo
the bike again, but due to time issues I never found the time to put back into it to fix it up. So I
let her sit in the garage, days to months, to years etc..and now due to health I am unable to put
the work back into the bike that it requires to put her back on the road. With a little elbow grease
and some effort though this bike can be cleaned up and made into quite a unique sportster once again.
In order to set the bike right the front rim and back rim were to be removed, and sand blasted and rechromed. To do this it would have needed new rims to use while the old were rechromed, which I bought for it but never put on. These were Stock sportster mags just to run the bike on until the others were done. It would also have needed pipes which I also bought and never put on the bike as can be seen in pictures. . They are still in the bubble wrap and box, though the box is in less than perfect shape. Also I had 2 other tanks and rear fenders in other ads here on craigs list along with ALOT of other softail parts, forward controls, seats, etc..
The things i have not bought for the bike that it will need are: battery, carb rebuild, plugs and
wires, and i would most likely just scrap the front shock and get a new one as this ones got quite
a bit of rust on it.
I have the receipts for all the work done around here somewhere. I will be looking for them. If it weren't for circumstances this bike would be redone yet again thats how much I liked this bike. The leak in the tank is around the petcock, and the engine hasn't had not even had 1 attempt to crank it since the hole was noticed in the tank, however due to sitting the inside of the tank is rusty.
The springer has also been powder coated,the front tire is a 21 inch, the cables are braided, there
are alot of custom parts on this bike, I literally had the whole bike customized. If I put saddlebags
on it and sit it next to my softail it looks like a mini softail.This bike would be nice as a first
harley fixer upper for a younger guy or even just a nice project for someone who wanted a nice start on a real bobber. You cant even buy the parts at a swap meet for what I'm asking.
