Thank you for looking at this 1976 Harley. Check out the pictures to see how nice the chassis & all components are. The gas tanks are reproduction items, the fenders I'm not sure of, the front end is an earlier model with the drum brake, the speedo is new with low miles showing. The rear brakes have a new chrome caliper assembly, new braided brake line and new master cylinder, the rear rotor should be replaced. The front forks have had new seals and fluid installed. The tires appear as new, but according to the previous owner are 20 years old and should be replaced. The engine and frame have matching serial numbers. Now the bad news, the engine needs a complete rebuild, the cases may have to be replaced because a chunk of metal has been broken off where one of the oil line fittings thread into the engine case. The fitting only goes in a couple of threads, if you are handy at welding aluminum cases maybe it can be repaired without the expense of new cases. Engine also needs upper end rebuilt and a new oil pump installed. Someone at one point tried welding the transmission case, as you can see in the pictures. Wasn't a very good job, needs redone or the transmission case replaced. The gears look to be in great condition and shifted smoothly before the teardown. The engine was smoking badly and leaking oil, compression was low and so the engine was taken apart & inspected. The starter, starter solenoid, starter pinion gear are all new, the battery is only a few months old and the drive chain is also new. This bike has a clear Michigan Title and has matching numbers on the frame and engine. With a little love and elbow grease this could be a great bike. One more thing, the clutch hub needs replaced, the old one was damaged and thrown away. For sale is this 2001 Harley Davidson FXSTD Softail Deuce. This bike is in excellent condition, it looks and runs great. There is a small indentation on the front of the custom seat that is hardly noticable, but the original seat is included in the sale, it is like new. There is a small scratch in the chrome of the rear cylinder head, I'm just trying to describe the small defects so there isn't any surprises to the new owner when he picks up this fine machine. The paint is original and still shines up real nice as does the chrome and there is a lot of chrome. The bike only has 20,049 miles on it, the tires have about 4,000 miles on them with a lot of rubber left. The bike is equipped with a quick detach windshield, polished rear wheel, chrome swingarm covers with running lights. Also has the Vance & Hines exaust pipes which sound awesome & loud. The battery is 2 years old and a Battery Tender Charger is also included in this sale. I am the second owner of this bike, I have been riding for 50 years and this is one of the best bikes I have ever ridden. It has plenty of power and goes through the gears very smoothly, brakes work as they should and all lights function properly. Bike also has the factory security system which is controlled by the remote on the key ring. A $500.00 deposit is required after buying this Harley.
