This was purchased with a buddy of mine just for track use only. It is not registered for street use. We are the third owners. We purchased it in 2006, it was taken to Laguna Seca twice and Infineon once, that is all. It has been sitting in the garage for the past few years untouched. The last time it ran was about three years ago, I used to take it out and run up and down the street to keep the battery and fuel up. It ran perfectly when it was put away a few years ago but has sat untouched, so it will need the tank and carbs cleaned and gone through. It has never been down as far as I know, certainly not in my care. It is a completely unmolested and stock VFR with only 6964 mi on the clock. We were told at purchase that it is some sort of replica, not sure what that was about but I bet with a little homework you could find out. For auction here is a very nice, very rare rebuilt vintage Ducati 350 Desmo top end. Great for you vintage Ducati restoration guys. This is one of the nicest pieces I acquired from a retiring Ducati single collector earlier this year.I'm not a Ducati expert just a passionate vintage motorcycle enthusiast so please look over the pictures to ensure my description lines up with what you see!The head looks fully reconditioned with a valve job based on the seats and perhaps new valves. See the pictures. The liner looks like it has a new sleeve or at least a fresh bore. The cylinder could be NOS but assume it is used. The NOS GPM piston includes new rings, pin & clips. Part number may be 061047400 (says that o the box - see the picture).Bevel gears and tower look very nice. I don't see any amount of corrosion anywhere. See pics. Not sure which model Ducati this was from or which year exactly. I just guessed for this listing.Also not sure what the value is given there were no recent sales of a similar condition head. The only other head I saw on the completed listings was in need of a full rebuild.I'll start out at this price but will include a best offer. Thinning my herd of vintage motocross and flat track stuff. As some of you know who have seen my listings I bought out a retiring vintage motocross and road racer, Kurt Yeager. Kurt was the CEO of a multinational company who often traveled to Europe and according to him bought some bikes while he was there. In any event, the bike I have for sale here is I'm told a 1972.5 Maico MC400 Close ratio Radial. . The bike seems to be very original, very low hour bike and unrestored as none of the major components seem to have been changed (foot pegs, rims, seat, etc).Numbers matching frame and tag All I have done is degrease it, clean the Bing Carb (jets were pretty clean but the float bowl needed to be cleaned) and fire it up. It started on the third kick after tickling the Bing Carb and I rode it (slowly) around my block.Motor number is U404134 (U being the close ratio gear box).Radial head. Frame and tag number is MC400 388308 Appears to be the original rims. I say that as they are the chrome steel style and here in California everyone replaced them with the lighter Akront rims. Cool gas tank with a little sight window to see the gas level. I've never seen that so either it is a Euro version or an aftermarket tank.Still has some of the Made in West Germany decals on it Period correct S&W rear shocks with the spring rate paint stripes still on them. Rear tire still looks new - front is weather checked but I will include an NOS front tire with it (also from his collection) Bike was raced by Kurt in the 90's and then stored in his garage in California for the last 20 years or so until I bought it last yearMagura throttle Twin OEM fuel petcocks which I have never seen before either (I only connected one to start the bike) Original shifter, pegs and brake lever Seat cover is in good condition with a few nicks here and thereNice forks with no rust that I can see and the rubber gaiters are still flexibleStarts, runs, shifts and stopsFor sale locally so don't miss out!! Never dropped, raced, or mistreated. Unmodified except for electronic ignition and Mikuni RS36 carbs--easily reversible to stock, if you wish. Smooth running, tight motor. Runs great--sounds awesome. Clean tank and carbs. Second owner since new. New coils, wires, plugs, timing chain, electronic ignition, bar-end mirrors, custom angled intake manifolds, throttle cables, battery, clutch ball, clutch line, grips, windshield, air filters, plugs, wires (crimped and soldered), sprockets, X-ring D.I.D. chain. Custom RS36 Mikuni carbs, fresh lubricants, rear brake caliper rebuilt. Original fruities (carbs) also come with the bike. Valves and timing meticulously adjusted--carbs balanced with Motion Pro digital vacuum guage. Photos are of actual bike. Original paint, so there are a very few inconspicuous paint chips. Imported by me from New Zealand in 2010, through the Port of Los Angeles (Custom Form 7501 included, along with other documentation), however, bike was never registered.
