The DRZ 400S is well known among dual Sport riders- the ability to ride any roads to get to and from off-road riding trails is very desirable. It has a sophisticated suspension with both hi and lo speed compression adjustments and adjustment for rebound damping. They're capable off road machines and absorb / tolerate really rough conditions often without effect. The power is impressive across a wide RPM range which supports the versatility for which they are known. This example I bought 1 year ago from a rider who had no competitive aspirations and used the bike as a weekend meandering machine that allowed him to wander virtually anywhere and deal with some forest roads, easy jeep trails and not-very-technical trails. I bought it in Eastern Nebraska. The bike shows very little evidence of being ridden save for some scratches on the tail piece where, in the absence of a rear rack, one bungees-on a small pack or box. There's also 3 small 'dings' on the headlight surround. Why there? I don't have a clue. If one looks at the typical areas where normal wear signals the type of riding the bike has been through, like the areas on the frame, above the foot pegs, when standing the boots will wear shiny wear patches there. This bike has no evidence of wear there. Another is to look at the skidplate itself. encounters in a 'rock garden' will inevitably leave 'scars' but on this bike there is very little evidence of it's even the 'sand blasting' on the lower portions of the bike that happens on street bikes. So if this DRZ has been ridden even slightly exuberantly I'd expect to see more evidence but it rides, runs, starts, and performs like my fiends 2012 DRZ. It does have 70/30 tires with useable tread however there is a new set of full knobbies, and new uninstalled battery that could go with it. The chain and sprockets appear as-new. Really this is a pick it up and ride away bike. The rider was over 55 who had some very well cared for equipment and I was impressed. and bought the bike even though I didn't need another. These Suzukis have such a good reputation.. It has been left as stock except for a 1 tooth smaller counter shaft sprocket , a case saver on the brake side cover and I put on risers for the bar and added hand guards. Sounds too good to sell. Well, I have more than enough other bikes and the Suzuki is more capable than I need as well as I'm not comfortable with these high revving singles, but that's where the power is. If you're interested be aware that the bike is near Madison, WI and coordinating the pack-up should be done promptly. Actually the terms must be " the buyer is responsible for transportation of the bike" however there may be an option that we should discuss.

Here is a excellent example of this Honda Flat Tracker. The plastic, with 1 exception, is virtually perfect. The exception is a front fender 'scrape' (see Pics) . I have gone through the starting system; new relay, lubricated the whole system, cleaned the solenoid, and new battery. Re: brakes- the the front and rear master cylinders and calipers have been removed, cleaned, and tested for proper operation. The drive chain is an original, non O ring 530 chain and should be replaced. (There is an option many FT owners do -that is to replace the 530 with a 520 O-ring chain. This requires changing both sprockets as well.) Even the black chrome looks good but is pitted and the muffler also looks good but it is also pitted which is a better situation than what has occurred on similar 30+ year bikes. It's a quiet bike as well. The carb jetting has not been changed but I have the recommended jets should you wish to make the recommended change-it improves the bikes performance. The tires may very well be on a par with the chain i.e. 'Original' and even though the tread depth would qualify as legally acceptable . .the tires are too damn old. They're hard and one could probably polish them! You'll need to get some good modern rubber on the FT, seriously. Did I mention the mileage? 10,440-that's 475 mi/year! As you can see in the pictures the bike, form 10' away, presents as a new machine with younger riders, most of whom have never seen an FT500 wonder what it is plus with the current interest in creating custom Flat trackers from current and older bikes, the FT is already there. Nice old bike but I have plenty to keep me busy and I'm moving which almost requires me to sell some of them

There's also 3 small 'dings' on the headlight surround. Why there? I don't have a clue but could be from branches that over hung a trail. If one looks at the typical areas where normal wear signals the type of riding the bike has been through, like the areas on the frame, above the foot pegs, when standing the boots will wear shiny wear patches there. It does have 70/30 tires with useable tread and the chain shows no wear as measured by how much one can pul the chain away from the rear sprocket. Oh, I also have a new battery that will be installed before delivery. Really this is a pick it up, add fuel, and ride away bike. The rider was a senior citizen who had some very well cared for equipment and I was impressed. and bought the bike even though I didn't need another. They have such a good reputation.. It has been left as stock except for a 1 tooth smaller counter shaft sprocket , a case saver on the brake side cover and I put on 2" risers for the bars and added hand guards.
