2002 KDX 200 HYBRIDYou are looking at one of the trickest KDX Hybrids on the planet. This bike was painstakingly designed and professionally built as a ULTRA COMPETITIVE GNCC race bike. We wanted a competitive 200cc class hare scramble/ enduro racer and there were only a few options. Anyone who knows KDX’s is well aware of the bullet proof engine and the potential these little motors have. There major downfall with any KDX is the lack of suspension and steel frame. With that in mind we set out to build what we felt was the ultimate KDX200 over the winter of 2011. The rolling chassis is from a aluminum framed 2004 Honda CRF250R while the motor is a 2002 KDX200. We have seen several hybrids built over the years that have used an abundance of mixed matched parts, to the point it’s hard to know/remember what parts off what bikes were used. This bike was designed and built so all of the rolling chassis uses off the shelf CRF250R parts including the air filter. The engine and controls are all KDX parts and even the exhaust is KDX with a slightly modified silencer. This bike has been a consistent front runner at every event it has ever run with only 1 mechanical failure (broken shift lever) in two seasons of racing. The engine was built by Freddette Racing and freshened up by them every season. Suspension was done by Enduro Engineering and again freshened up every season. It is currently sprung/valved for a 140/150lb. B class rider. The bike has not been raced this season as our rider is drag racing this year. The bike is not a 100% show piece as it does have the normal small nicks/scratches on the powder coated frame. As pictured it does have all new plastic and ready for your graphics kit. This bike is perfect for the rider coming off of superminis to run the 200cc class or the ultimate play/trail bike. Is it cheap? You might be able to build it for twice what we are asking. Guys laugh at our maintenance program on this bike but that’s why it ran up front at every event. Buy it today and go racing COMPETITIVELY tomorrow! Powder coat on frame has scratches/wear etc. Tires would need replaced to go racing, still some life for playing on the trails.
