I purchased this 1962 R69S from the original owner in 1991 restored it from top to bottom, inside and out. Over the years I have ridden it approx. 500 miles. This is the real deal that has every nut, bolt and widget that is came new with except some rubber parts and a new after market stock exhaust. The motor was completely gone thur with parts replaced refurbished to original spec. by a top Maryland BMW shop. This bike starts, runs, stops and lights up as it did the day it was sold in 1962. It will only go up in value. Only two minor issues are the black handle bar controls were hand painted and the chrome speedo bezel has a dent. I purchased this limited production BMW in 2012 with 17692 miles on it. It was professionally and fully serviced then Maryland State inspected. Ridden less than 600 miles since then. I added heli 2" rise bars and a battery tender. The owner before me installed an upgraded rear shock. The original shock as well as all the extra keys, manuals and books are included. This rare motorcycle has always performed perfectly in every respect. Truly, a quality piece of mechanical engineering, artfully designed. Very collectable and will most likely increase in value. Everything has a story: This 2002 V ROD was the first one received at a Lancaster Pa. Harley Dealer. Because it was the first year and one of the first ones in the country the the owner immediately placed it in his personal museum. Sadly the dealer passed away in 2009 and his collection was sold. The bike was serviced and sold as new, then ridden 4539 miles. I purchased the bike from the first owner. If you are considering this motorcycle then you pretty much know what it is you are looking at. The best thing I can tell you is this is my personal bike and is in perfect, and I mean perfect working order.The only thing I did was to install a battery tender. It will need a rear tire sometime in the next 1000 miles. There are two paint blemishes on the frame that will be very easy to touch up. Comes with all the manual's, extra keys and papers.
