This is a genuine 1982 TZ500J, Yamaha's 500cc two-stroke square-four Grand Prix weapon. One of the last factory production GP bikes sold to privateers before the factory era took over completely. Approx. 3,200 miles from new. Specs & Condition Engine: 498cc liquid-cooled square-four, reed valve, 4x Mikuni carbs. Fires first kick. Compression strong and even across all 4 cylinders.Power: ∼120hp @ 11,500rpm in period. Dry weight ∼125kg. You do the math. Matching numbers engine and frame.Recent Work: Full crank rebuild by Crankworks 8hrs ago. New pistons, rings, and Nikasil plated cylinders. NOS Yamaha clutch basket installed. Included: Original bodywork + spare fiberglass race set. 2 spare sets of pipes, box of jets/sprockets, factory service manual, and parts book.Condition: Clean title. Bike is complete and correct. Tank has minor race rash from back in the day - never repaired to preserve originality. Could be shown or raced tomorrow. No test pilots unless cash in hand. You know what this is.
