2002 BMW R 1150 R

The bike is basically stock. However, I've added high intensity halogen safety lights on either side of the front wheel. The seats are custom (more comfortable) and heated. Standard BMW saddle bags and rear case that's capable of stowing 2 helmets and/or gear. The previous owner welded on a larger foot to the kickstand to prevent sinking in soft ground (actually looks like a small foot; I wasn't too jazzed about that, but it works well and isn't too obvious so I didn't change it). I've got an extra large windscreen that works very well and a gps mount that you can attach pretty much any device to; just above the instrument cluster. Two aftermarket rear view mirrors. A BMW battery charger/maintainer with a quick connect under the seat. Cycle cover. It's been maintained according to BMW by BMW Motorcycles of Atlanta and is where I traded my 1150GS for this RT about 8 years ago. I've recently moved to Guntersville, AL which is where the bike is. I'm selling because I don't ride much anymore. I've got a small plane that takes my free time now. Top speed is about 80 mph. Most fun at 50 to 60 mph in the mountains.

I did all maintenance items as I am very meticulous about that. I rode two track days and have not had the opportunity to ride the motorcycle since. It stays in the garage and I am going to sell in order to buy a side by side for my farm. I am 39 years old and have not abused the bike. I do not race the bike, etc. The former owner was also an adult and the bike has been taken care of. All parts are stock. I had the suspension done by Marietta Motorsports to insure the bike was dialed in. The bike handles perfectly and is a tremendous machine. this bike is used and has just flipped 10,000 miles. if you would like a perfect motorcycle this is not the bike for you. It looks great, but it is NOT perfect. 2006 fz1 2nd generation. the bike has approximately 7,100 miles. I have added a yoshimeria slip on exhaust. I did this because it saves about 11 pounds over the stock exhaust. (I still have the stock exhaust if you want it) it also makes the bike sound really nice. I purchased this bike 3 months ago form a shop in south florida. they had taken the bike in on trade from what was described to me as an older gentleman who just wanted a Harley. the tires had 3 inch strips on each side (no wear). it was simply used to ride in a straight line. the dealership sent the bike to the local Yamaha dealership and they went through the bike. the fuel pump was replaced. The bike also had a tune up and was ready to go. I purchased the bike and trailered it home to north Alabama. I replaced the tires with Michelin pilot power front and rear. I changed the rear from a 190 50 to a 190 55. (turns in so much better) I have about 100 miles or so on the new tires. the bike has flush front and rear blinkers and a fender eliminator. I removed (but still have) the center stand. (it has a kick stand so I am not sure why a center stand is beneficial) I did this to save 6 pounds. I essentially removed about 20 pounds of useless weight by removing this and changing the stock exhaust. I also mounted black frame sliders. they may be hard to see in the picture. to my knowledge the bike has been even been dropped. it is simply beautiful. I challenge you to find a 2012 in better condition. again, only just over 7,000 miles. I have the title in hand and am willing to arrange for local pick up or I would be willing to meet in the following locations for a reasonable fee.(according to distance for me) Birmingham, Alabama Chattanooga, Tennessee Atlanta, GA Nashville, TN Jackson, MS performance wise the fz-1 has an r-1 engine. people say that it is a de-tuned r-1 engine and I would say that is false. it is tuned to have a wider power range which causes it to fall slightly short of the peak power of the r-1. simply stated, I don't understand why anyone would ever want more power than this bike has. 150 hp on a 440 lb machine is crazy. mechanically the bike is sound and visually stunning. if looks like a 2012. the fz-1 has remained unchanged since 2006 so this bike is like the one on the showroom floor today, (except they cost 10,000) why am I selling it? I purchased a track bike only. I have little time to ride and I don't need two bikes. when I do ride, I enjoy the track a lot. I have never taken this bike to the track. I have never raced it, etc. I am 39. I have been on e bay for a long time and my feedback rating is perfect. feel free to contact me with questions or request for additional pictures.
