1923 Willys Overland touring car modified to be a 2-door T-bucket style roadster. CHASSIS: Built 5 years ago by myself, Chassis is built like a tank of 3/16" 2x4 box steel rails with an integrated drive shaft hoop design. Floor and firewall are 3/16" plate steel for safety reasons. This car is made of an authentic steel body with opening doors. Designed to fit my 6' tall stature comfortably - once you learn how to enter and exit the car. Designed to where you actually sit inside the car - virtually on the floor. Vintage oil filled lever shocks, reverse eye model A front spring, True vintage Model A rear spring. Both springs are mounted in authentic crossmembers. All u-bolts, fasteners, and bushings are new as the car was build five years ago. I-beam drop axle with disk brakes on the front - 9" ford rear end with a 350 open differential out back - 11" rear drum brakes - 1 year old Towel City 10" wide Radial cheater slicks on the back - brand new radial tires on the front - tires are mounted on vintage smooth wheels. Rear end is mounted with a set of heavy steel ladder bars mounted with rubber bushing rod ends to cushion any chattering. All brake lines are braided stainless steel to all four wheels from new hardline fed with a dual under the floor master cylinder. Brake arms are vintage, and the gas pedal is hand made spoon style hung from a ball bearing bicycle wheel hub. DRIVETRAIN: Rebuilt 305 Chevy engine with new bearings, rings, BIG cam, oil pump, CLEAR DISTRIBUTOR CAP, rotor, and coil cover (new), aluminum water pump, vintage torker intake, mini starter, low mount one wire alternator, and a Holley 600 cfm carb. Heads are stock, but I matchported and polished the ports. I just changed the intake setup on the car to the intake that works better with the engine - the valley is still super clean inside!!! Block hugger headers and Cherry Bomb mufflers with 3" turnouts for exhaust. REBUILT LAST WEEK turbo 350 trans, brand new Torque Convertor, new Modulator valve, Hurst Quarter Stick Shifter, circle track driveshaft with new U-joints. STEERING: Steering column is modified from a 65 Bronco hung with a piston rod, Reverse Corvair aluminum steering box controls the slingshot dragster style steering arm. All steering rods are made of SOLID steel bar stock and fitted with new tie rod ends - (NOT HEIM JOINTS). There is a cancelling blinker in the column that will need a little work to fix the cancel function. BODY: Willys overland 1923 STEEL body with functioning doors, authentic windshield pillars cut down, chopped authentic windshield frame, new tinted safety glass, Steel Model A grille shell, Steel Model T turtle deck trunk with functioning deck lid to access fuel cell, New poly 10 gallon fuel cell with foam, New Black paint this spring, Model A rear taillight brackets, stainless steel housings, and glass lenses, Vintage Brass tank radiator, Vintage Brass fire extinguisher overflow tank. Electric engine cooling fan on thermostat, Bitchin Child Pissing hood ornament, lol. Interior is a pair of steel tractor bucket seat bottoms with black vinyl upholstery, back of seat is a back seat top out of a second gen Camaro - both have been reupholstered to match. Floor mats are removable foam pads with carpet glued onto them, Haydees Radiator heater inside is just for show (I've heard people mount computer fans onto the back of those to make them work), Brass fire extinguisher was intended to be made into an opening center console to keep papers in (I never got to that). Removable top that is mounted to the car SUPER SOLID and will not flutter at top speed. The top frame is made to encase the windshield frame (made to look like a visor). Steel framing is fully welded and rigid to the 1/2" box steel boot. All framework has Velcro fuzzy tape against painted surfaces in effort to minimize abrasion. The top is fastened with stainless steel turnbuckles at the windshield frame and four self-tapping screws through the boot. The top's material is black cloth from a 1995 convertible Camaro - not some flimsy stuff made up from the fabric store - it is waterproof. GENERAL: This car runs 70 mph down the road all day at 2500 - 3,000 RPM straight as an arrow!!!! I have driven it for five years now and NEVER walked home, lol. Starts up first bump of the key and is super reliable with the HEI ignition. Took it Drag Racing a couple times and went 13.98 in the quarter mile ALL DAY!!! Launched dead straight, drove dead straight, and pulled the whole way. Never went faster than that - Never went slower than that either. The car is only 2,000 lbs - it would really go with a decent size engine in it. :) I've decided to sell this car to help finance a newer daily driver for the household - not because I'm sick of it or anything. Just the opposite - I put a lot of work and fabrication into this car over the years and I still absolutely love the way it sits and the way it looks!! Be prepared to get a lot of WTF? looks as you're out driving and biker waves, lol. BTW: NO RADIO!! You're not going to need one. :) TITLE: Clear title registered in Illinois as a Street Rod - 1923 Willys Roadster.
