So is there any KDX lovers out there? Your about to see how much I love mine. So I bought this bike back in 2003 new off the showroom floor. I rode this bike for 9 years without so much as a hiccup until 2012 when I knew she was tired and needed work. I contacted the mechanic at my shop and we came up with a restoration plan. It was pretty easy. I gave instructions to the mechanic to order whatever he needed to fully restore the bike to factory new and to upgrade whenever possible. I told the mechanic to have some fun with this and then gave his boss 10 grand. See, pretty easy. The entire project cost just under 10 grand and I do have receipt's. The bike came out fantastic as the pictures show. The only thing we didn't have time to get done was the paint. Sorry but the frame shows all the character of a machine that's had a hell of a lot of fun. I also have all the parts that were saved from the rebuild so that's a lot of parts. So why am I willing to let this bike go? Well I was going to keep it as a back up bike for the new KTM I bought but I never figured my new bike would be as reliable as it the KDX is. So I have this awesome machine sitting in my garage collecting dust and I hate to see this machine not being used so if your a KDX fan like me and are in need of a new bike and enough parts to run a family of KDX's look no further. Don't wait to long because if REKLUSE makes one for this bike forget it I'm keeping it.

This beautiful low miles shovelhead belonged to my elderly and well to do neighbor. He rode it a little bit the first couple of years and then built an alcove on the garage of his new home to display it. Where it was subject to years of admiration and polishing with lemon pledge. This bike remains mainly unmolested and still has the original engine and internals, four speed transmission, wheels, brakes, forks, carburetor, gauges, nuts, bolts, wiring ect. Non factory parts include the pipes, handlebars, and air cleaner. The bike was fitted at the dealership with a Sturgis belt primary the year it was available which I believe was 1982? I don't believe it was done properly though as the belt is submerged in primary oil. I asked a Harley mechanic to inspect and replace it and he said the kelvar belt looked like new. This bike runs and rides beautifully and doesn't leak oil. The things I did to make the bike serviceable after sitting were base gaskets and top end gaskets. Adjust valves and new cork seals, rebuild factory carburetor, and new brake pads and tires. New battery that was purchased last week. I believe this is one of the cleanest low miles shovelhead for sale in the nation. I've enjoyed owning this bike but the truth is I just don't have time to ride it. Please don't bid on this bike if you intend to build a hardtail, apehanger, fat tire, chopper out of it. This bike is much nicer than the pictures or my description make it out to be.
