I purchased this bike new from the dealer in January and spent the winter adding things to get it just the way I wanted it. This is an awesome bike, beautiful, powerful and nimble........Chrome everywhere! Three weeks ago I was on a leisurely Sunday afternoon ride when a deer stepped out of the bushes right in front of me. When I struck the deer it spun the bike 180 degrees and when it hit the soft shoulder of the roadway the bike went down and I came off with a big thud.........no road rash (the bike went into the soft dirt and bushes of the shoulder of the road). The insurance company had it towed to their appraisal sight and did the first assessment of repairs. My first thought was to ask if there was frame or fork damage......they said they didn't find any. After the insurance company had their appraisal done, I had it towed to the shop of "my choice" for a second opinion, because of the shops expertise in frames. The second shop confirmed that there was no frame or fork damage and that all the repairs to be done were cosmetic. I'm listing the bike for sale since my injuries (cracked ribs, dislocated rib and lacerated kidney) will prevent me from riding at least the rest of this year. The bike looks new except for the damage....most of it untouched and unaffected by the collision... The Damage: The front fender (a couple of wrinkles), running lights destroyed, the light mounting brackets are bent where they attach to the running light and turn signals. The chrome fork cover on the right side was indented. The chrome piece behind the headlight cover has an indentation on each side from the "acorn nuts" of the windshield being pushed back into it. The tank has a small dimple on the left front (on the shoulder in front of the "Indian" script. The rear fender has a dent where the saddlebag was pushed into it (it looks like is could be easily pushed out and might not need paint work). The shop I chose said the "tins" damage was "minor bodywork and paint". There are cosmetic scratches to the underneath of the left side engine cover and primary cover and both mufflers have cosmetic damage (scratches from the dirt and bushes) as well as the heat shields. These scratches are from the bike sliding on the dirt and brush of the shoulder of the road, where it slid "backwards" for about 4 to 6 feet and came to rest on it's left side. It never touched down on the asphalt road surface. (The floorboards are untouched, handlebars are like new, although I lost the chrome end piece on the left side. Air cleaner is untouched, side panels are like new, engine is untouched, wheels are untouched etc). I had 3M Paint Defender on all the "tins" and some of the chrome pieces (if it looks like something is "peeling" in some of the pictures, I'm in the process of pulling some of it off.....but, my injuries don't allow me to work on it very long) Everything works, it started right up (there is a picture of the RPM readout when the bike was started) and I included pictures of the "readout" of the mileage (1799 miles). The 500 miles service was performed and has the remainder of the 5 year factory warranty. I am selling the bike "as is"........but is totally rideable, and runs as new. My plan was to ride it "as is" for the rest of the season and then repair it over the winter, but my doctors say I won't be riding any more this year.......... I figure there is someone out there that can do some bodywork and paint and save a lot of money on a 2014 Indian. If the buyer uses the "Buy it Now" option, I will include a windshield (SwitchBlade, which mounts like the factory windshield), custom made leather bags, a new set of factory chrome mufflers (removed at the dealer, before delivery), a drivers backrest and a "solo" luggage rack (a picture of these is included). One picture is of the bike with bags, windshield and a backrest on it. These items are only included in the sale, if the "Buy It Now" option is used (about $3000 in "add ons") $500 deposit by Paypal and the balance with cash, cashiers check or bank wire transfer. Also, I will have the bike delivered free within 250 miles of Bellingham, Washington. I am listing the bike locally, as well, so I reserve the right to end this listing early. Feel free to ask any questions and I can provide additional pictures, if there is something specific that you want to look at.... I love the bike and hate to sell it, but, it will be too emotionally painful to have it here and not be able to ride.......
