Features may include: WEIGHT REDUCTION The main target for the KTM engineers when developing the EXC-F models was a m***ive weight reduction compared to the previous generation. The result: the current EXC-Fs are the slimmest, lightest bikes in the Enduro scene, even though the engines are equipped with an electric starter as a standard feature, while the competition still needs to be kick-started. You can just focus on kicking ***. SWINGARM This updated design allows for an optimized mounting position of the PDS shock, providing more progressive action. Furthermore, the cast aluminum design guarantees lower weight and a perfect flex behavior. The single-component casting process also eliminates any inconsistencies and weak points. FRAME The high-tech, lightweight chrome-moly steel frame is engineered for excellent handling, precise cornering and supreme stability. You can also count on high torsional rigidity and low longitudinal stiffness for better absorption of the energy created by the front and rear suspension sucking up jumps and bumps. In short: more comfort and less rider fatigue. Laterally attached, lightweight engine head stays contribute to a reduced vibration level. Two threaded inserts in the lower cradle tubes allow for an optional skid plate. The engineers were able to pull off all that, while making the frame two pounds lighter than that of the lightest competitor on the market. In addition, the frame is easier to maintain, easier to work on and supplies more space for the tank and other components. The bike also features an extra-light aluminum subframe, which weighs in at less than 2 pounds. FOOTPEGS Sophisticated No Dirt footpegs prevent jamming up of the pegs, even when digging in deep ruts. The pegs on the EXC models are 6mm higher than the ones used on SX models, which benefits ground clearance. But you can swap them at will. FRONT SUSPENSION The all-new WP XPlor 48 upside-down fork is a split fork developed by WP in close collaboration with KTM. Six days in succession, over a thousand offroad kilometres, 40 hours in the saddle - a gruelling test, not only for the rider. A whole package of high-quality special options makes the 350 EXC-F Six Days fit for this ruthless contest, in which more than half the starters bank on KTM every year. No other brand is anywhere near as strong and successful in offroad sport. In 2013 the fastest rider overall was once again on a KTM. The Six Days will take place in Argentina in 2014 and the KTM model range has been updated accordingly to be equipped for everything that the South American terrain has to offer. In the form of the new Six Days models, KTM offers well-proven, robust machines that fully satisfy the high demands of this extraordinarily tough competition. Features May Include: OIL CIRCUIT The 350 EXC-F Six Days engine is equipped with two oil pumps. A pressure pump supplies reliable lubrication to the crankshaft, piston, balancer shaft and valve controls. It also ensures cooling of the ignition and lubrication of the clutch. A suction pump draws oil from the crankcase and uses it to lubricate the transmission. This creates a slight vacuum in the crankcase, which also increases engine performance. Newly developed oil strainer sealing rings are used for MY 2015 to provide better durability in the most extreme conditions and a longer service life. VALVE TRAIN The crankshaft drives a laterally positioned intermediate shaft that also acts as a balancer shaft, water pump drive and timing chain drive for the two camshafts. A hydraulic chain adjuster ensures reliable chain tension and consequently extremely precise valve timing. ENGINE The 350cc 4-stroke engine, with state-of-the-art electronic fuel injection, provides a very broad useable rev range and distinguishes itself with dynamic yet strength-saving engine characteristics.
