2008 Kawasaki Vulcan 1600 MEAN STREAK, TL;DR - This bike has the amazing low'n'mean looks of a classic muscle cruiser, all the same creature comforts of your grandpa's Road King but at a fraction of the cost, doesn't look anything like your neighbor's Vulcan, and has the legendary reliability of the Kawasaki name. Price is $6,000, FIRM. About the bike - Kawi made the Mean Streak for only four years, from 2004 to 2008. This being an 08 model means all the bugs have been worked out. And of all the Mean Streaks they made, they made very few "Special Edition" models that came with the red/black paint scheme and blacked out pipes. This is a somewhat rare, very unique bike and you don't see many like it. While I've owned it, it's been unmolested. It's still bone stock and ready for whatever cosmetic and power upgrades you want to do. Being a Japanese bike you don't have to worry about reliability. This engine will run forever, especially with the super low miles I have on it now - only 16k!! I am meticulous about maintenance but even so, I've barely had to do anything other than oil changes because the bike has given me no problems. It is shaft drive, meaning you don't need to worry about chain maintenance, which is GREAT if you're not super mechanically inclined. It is also water-cooled so you will never need to worry about over-heating. It's extremely comfortable, and the engine is on rubber mounts, making it incredibly vibration-free. You will never get off this bike with "buzzing" in your hand because there are no constant vibrations through the handlebars. The 1600-cc powerplant has LOADS of torque and plenty of horsepower too. I frequently find myself cruising along at 90 or 95mph and not even realize it because this bike is so smooth. The shaft drive delivers engine power immediately, you won't have any power lag like what you get in chain drives. I've ridden 2-up loaded down with luggage and never had a problem climbing a hill or making a pass. Just twist the throttle and away you go. Even though this is a cruiser, I like to say it has the soul of a sport bike. It has dual-disc front brakes like sport bikes, making quick stopping a breeze. It has inverted front forks, a now highly popular design borrowed from sport bikes. The rear shocks are air-adjustable, as well as have a 4-stage dampening system that allows you to customize the ride to your style and body weight. You can make the rear suspension stiffer for better cornering in the mountains, or softer for long highway rides. I have recently changed the oil and it has fresh tires as well. Its also registered through May 16. This is a beautiful, powerful, comfortable, & well maintained bike that looks like it should be a lot more expensive than it really is. I'm firm on the price at $6k, this bike is MORE than worth that price. $5,999.00 4438674758
