Please note that the pics of the assembled bike are current and were taken for this listing. the rest of the build pics were before all the details and fabricating were done. so the motor and frame have been completely cleaned. I do have a few other details that I will need to get done before it goes to its new owner. like the chain and fuel line and fresh fluids. Well this should be pretty self explanatory if you're looking at this bike,then you already know all about the 500. I have done all the fabrication work on this bike myself ,I've done a lot of R&D to make sure this will be one of if not the strongest conversions out there. there are no wacky parts from a bunch of other bikes. the only thing not kx450 if the motor, carb, electronics and the boot that goes from the airbox to the carb. it uses the factory 450 radiators in the stock location so all your plastics will line up just like they are suppose to. the motor I believe is an 01, 500 motor. it was recently rebuilt and rechromed not sleeved. this is by far one of the strongest running 500's ive ever owned, and I've owned a lot of them. super nice low hour kx500. as you can tell by the pics this bike was recently taken down to the from and given a freshening. it didn't have more than 30 hours on it to start with. it had been sitiing in a garage for just over 10 years collecting dust and getting faded plastics from the sun shining thru the window on it all those years. the motor has never been apart and is in great condition and runs perfect. I've owned tons of these 500's and I know them well. I went completely theu the bike and replaced what needed to be replaced,but I didn't want to go to crazy on the restoration and make it so nice I wouldn't want to ride it. It had the original tires on it still and they were rock hard so I thought that would be a good place to start. all the suspension linkage ,pivot points and steering stem have been repacked with fresh Bel-Ray waterproof grease. fork seals and shock are all in great original condition.wheel bearings are good. this bike is completely ready to ride it needs nothing. and yes I know you can find clapped out kx500's for half this price.but you'll end putting more time and money into one of those bikes than just buying one with all the time and money already spent on it.
