Kawasaki has been leading the 4x4 all-terrain vehicle (ATV) industry for the past several years with such award-winning models as the Prairie® 700 4x4 and the all-new 2005 BRUTE FORCE™ 750 4x4i. With the new 2005 BRUTE FORCE™ 650 4x4, Kawasaki brings together the very best attributes of these leading-edge ATVs into one model, giving off-road enthusiasts the power, performance and exhilaration befitting a Kawasaki 4x4. The BRUTE FORCE5™ 650 4x4 combines the smooth, easy-to-use torque of Kawasaki’s original V-twin engine with an advanced chassis, suspension, transmission and brakes, then wraps it all in tough, high-fendered bodywork styled after the new BRUTE FORCE™ 750 4x4i. The end result is a big-bore Kawasaki ATV that provides outstanding performance and a long list of standard features at a mid-class price point. As with all off-highway vehicle recreation, Kawasaki encourages ATV riders to ride responsibly. Kawasaki will pay first-time ATV buyers of a new Kawasaki ATV $100 for completing an ATV rider safety course conducted by the ATV Safety Institute (call toll-free 800-887-2887).

As young riders grow taller and stronger, and outgrow their beloved KFX®50 all-terrain vehicle (ATV), the Kawasaki KFX80 is waiting in the wings to provide them with the fun and performance they want – and the safety features parents appreciate. The KFX80 ATV is designed for riders ages 12 and older, and is powered by an 82cc two-stroke engine that features automatic oil injection, eliminating the need to premix fuel. It also features forced-air cooling to maintain optimum operating temperatures. It is matched to a continuously variable automatic transmission with lightweight chain drive, so no shifting is required. To assist beginning riders with their learning curve, it also features a removable power limiter and a throttle limiting screw that can be adjusted as rider skill increases. Other features include electric start and a sealed battery, dependable CDI ignition, and snorkel air intake that permits the KFX80 to draw fresh air from near the steering head assembly. An added safety feature is the electric start interlock that requires the parking brake to be applied in order to start the engine. Plus, the KFX80 features a U.S. Forest Service-approved spark arrestor. The chassis of the KFX80 ATV is made of sturdy steel tubing and rides on a single A-arm front suspension with dual shocks and a rear swingarm with a single shock. Stopping power is provided by durable front and rear drum brakes. The KFX80 has a 1.6-gallon fuel tank for extended riding, and a keyed ignition system helps prevent unauthorized use.

Powerful, rugged and a great performer in an affordable package While the competition sells some nice big-bore all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) with single-cylinder engines and four-wheel drive, the Brute Force™ 650 4x4 comes with Kawasaki’s legendary V-twin engine, a leading-edge 4x4 system and angular good looks for about the same price. The Brute Force 650 4x4 is powered by Kawasaki’s highly acclaimed liquid-cooled 633 cc, 90-degree V-twin engine featuring single overhead cams and four valves per cylinder. It is fed by dual 32 mm Keihin carburetors drawing fresh air from a snorkel intake located high in the frame near the steering head. Together, these powerplant features provide the rider with industry-leading torque and smooth-running operation unmatched by the competition. Power is then transferred to Kawasaki’s much-acclaimed fully automatic continuously variable transmission (CVT). With high or low forward gears, plus neutral and reverse, this proven transmission functions seamlessly, providing excellent control for both low- and high-speed work or recreational riding. Plus, the Brute Force 650 4x4 can also be started in any gear, provided the brakes are applied. Complementing the CVT is a switch on the right handle bar that gives the rider a choice of either two-wheel or four-wheel drive operation, and power is delivered to the wheels by dependable, low-maintenance shaft drive. In normal four-wheel drive mode, the front wheels provide extra traction for adverse terrain, while the limited-slip differential allows the rider to make tight turns and reduces steering effort.

With its fresh styling and advanced, performance-enhanced V-twin engine, this motorcycle is made for touring comfort. It's also nice to know that, in an upscale marketplace overflowing with brands and models that offer touring capability, the Vulcan 1500 Nomad costs thousands of dollars less than the competition. The Nomad features all the styling elements befitting a class-leading cruiser, including twin chrome exhaust pipes, chrome engine guards, rider and passenger floorboards, and polished alloy wheels. Equally important, however, are the touring accessories, such as an adjustable windshield, plush air-assisted rear suspension, a sculpted seat for one- or two-up long-distance riding, ergonomic controls and adjustable levers. Distinctively streamlined hard saddlebags provide generous storage capacity for those hard-to-resist overnight rides. The Nomad's 90 cubic-inch V-twin engine generates incredible torque with its high-compression pistons and performance-oriented cam timing. There are four valves per cylinder actuated by single overhead cams. Hydraulic lash adjusters automatically maintain valve clearance for smooth engine performance, reduced noise and minimal maintenance, and automatic cam chain tensioners keep cam timing accurate and provide greater reliability with virtually no upkeep.

Also comes with the ONE-UP factory seat. Following the successful debut of the Vulcan 800 Drifter retro cruiser two years ago, Kawasaki felt this mid-size cruiser was privy to a few nips and tucks. For example, it was refurbished for a more custom feel, thanks to a specially contoured solo saddle, a new chrome package and a lively Candy Cardinal Red paint scheme. So, for 2002, the ?little brother? to the Vulcan 1500 Drifter model returns with all the style of its bigger sibling but in a more lightweight and affordable package. At first glance, the Vulcan 800 Drifter?s styling sets it apart from the competition. The sculpted fenders covering much of the spoked wheels and the single fishtail muffler jutting out the back immediately catch the eye. The generous use of chrome on the engine covers, bullet-shaped headlight shell, fork and shock covers, handlebar and clamp, rear fender rail, and license-plate bracket enhance the ?custom? look.

LOOKS AND RUNS GREAT. 4X4. AUTOMATIC. All-terrain performance with big-bore competence. The Prairie 360 4x4 features an advanced four-wheel-drive system coupled with a dependable four-stroke engine in a mid-side chassis. This combination gives farmers, ranchers and recreational users a practical ATV that?s ready to get dirty, haul heavy loads, and explore challenging terrain. Power for the Prairie 360 4x4 ATV comes from an air-cooled, single cylinder, four-stroke engine displacing 362 cc. The power is then transferred through Kawasaki?s continuously variable transmission (CVT). With high and low forward gears plus reverse, the CVT enables the engine to operate in its optimal rpm range, giving the rider maximum torque regardless of speed or riding conditions. The Prairie 360 4x4 ATV utilizes dependable shaft drive and gives the rider the added benefit of selectable four-wheel drive operation. At the flip of a switch, the Prairie 360 4x4 rider can engage all four wheels for added traction in adverse riding conditions. The Prairie 360 4x4 utilizes a limited-slip front differential, so steering is light and more precise. When maximum traction is needed, the rider can utilize Kawasaki?s Variable Front Differential Control by pulling a lever on the left handlebar to send power to both front wheels. When maximum traction is no longer needed, the rider simply releases the lever?the system is simple and effective. Stopping power for the Prairie 360 4x4 is provided by dual front disc brakes and Kawasaki?s sealed, oil-bathed, multi-disc rear brake system. For added stopping power, the Prairie 360 4x4 features the Kawasaki Engine Brake Control, which uses engine compression to help slow the ATV in technical maneuvers such as crawling at low speeds over rocks or descending steep downgrades. The Prairie 360 4x4 ATV rides on supple MacPherson strut front suspension with 6.7 inches of travel, while rear suspension duties are handled by a sporty, single-shock aluminum swingarm with 7.1 inches of travel. It also features a large, comfortable saddle and full-sized floor boards with adjustable footpegs for maximum comfort. Plus, steel front and rear cargo racks can carry a combined weight of 242 pounds. Other conveniences include powerful dual halogen headlights, and a hitch bracket is standard, so the Prairie 360 4x4 can tow 1,100 pounds ? the highest towing capacity in its class.
