The Kawasaki KX450 gets an all-new Showa air-fork instead of the Kayaba air fork, has a larger front brake rotor and a new piston design and revised ECU settings headlining the powertrain alterations. It has a revised Bridged Box piston design, which makes use of reinforced external ribs and shorter skirts. The programmable ECU settings for 2015 have been altered to increase traction.
