KLR650 original owner. 19K miles 42-56 mpg. This bike is ready to ride. No leaks, no coughs, just wears the miles she rode. If you know anything about big thumpers, and especially the klr, you know many eat oil at high rpms. This is what I call a 3 stroke engine. She eats very little running trails but will go through a quart if you run her at high speed ( I use fast lane for hwy and keep her at 80..even in desert she doesn't overheat) for a full tank ( about 220 miles b4 reserve) This just means you need to keep an eye on oil...which is wise no matter what you ride. So if that scares you away try a Versys :) Or buy a klr with the Schnitz piston mod ( theres one on CL that looks good except for the color) I bought this bike to adventure ride fire roads and major trails and to be able to bring camping gear. For that task, it is fantastic. I thought I would miss my sport bike (R6) but this thing handles paved mountain twisties really well and will cruise at 80mph all day long on the Hwy.
